The Stunning Omega CEO Always Wants Me to Mark Her - Chapter 19
Not long after, Ye Shuqian appeared at the classroom door, poking her head in with a bag in hand.
“Suisui-jie?”
Hearing the voice, Lin Sui, still chewing on a piece of bread, glanced up and motioned for her to come in.
The seat beside Wen Xiangzhu happened to be empty and close to Lin Sui, so the moment Ye Shuqian entered, she went straight there.
“Keep your voice down,” Lin Sui reminded, pointing toward Wen Xiangzhu, who was still asleep.
“Okay,” Ye Shuqian whispered, nodding quickly. She was curious about what exactly Lin Sui and Wen Xiangzhu’s relationship was, but in the end, she didn’t ask.
She set her bag down and opened it. “I brought some food and drinks.”
Zhu Huan glanced over, then looked at Lin Sui, but said nothing.
Lin Sui responded lightly, “It’s fine, just sit and stay.”
Ye Shuqian bit her lip, then asked softly, “About the match this afternoon.”
Lin Sui paused. “If you want, you can sit with our class in the spectator section.”
“Really? Thank you, Suisui-jie.” Ye Shuqian exhaled in relief, hurriedly expressing her gratitude.
After all, they were dormmates. Passing along information hadn’t really been her intention, so there was no need to make a big deal of it.
Zhu Huan rubbed her eyes, yawned, and then lay back down on the desk to sleep.
Lin Sui glanced at her, but she herself wasn’t in the mood to nap. Out of boredom, she scrolled idly through the apps on her phone, one after another.
Almost without thinking, she found herself back in the comment section of that short novel.
The novel wasn’t very popular, so the comments were quickly read through. One in particular caught her eye:
[Is this going to end in HE or BE?]
[Author’s reply: Depends on her.]
Depends on her?
What was that supposed to mean?
“Mm?”
A voice pulled Lin Sui from her thoughts. She looked up to find Wen Xiangzhu awake, staring curiously at Ye Shuqian, who was now sitting beside her.
Ye Shuqian, a little shy, looked back at Wen Xiangzhu, the tips of her ears turning red.
“Um, hi. We’ve met before. Do you remember me?”
Inside, Ye Shuqian was screaming. From afar, she hadn’t noticed much, but sitting this close, she finally realized—this Omega called Wen Xiangzhu was stunning.
Especially now, just after waking up.
Even as a Beta, her heart was racing.
Wen Xiangzhu blinked in confusion, thought for a moment, then said, “You’re Jie—Lin Sui’s roommate.”
“Yes, yes!”
“But you and Feng Yue.”
At that, Ye Shuqian quickly shook her head. “I’m not like her!”
Wen Xiangzhu pressed her lips together, glancing uneasily at Lin Sui. Only after receiving her confirming look did she relax, turning back to Ye Shuqian. “Mm, thank you for standing up for me today.”
“Of course, of course.”
The high jump competition was scheduled for the next morning. Since Wen Xiangzhu was still injured, she withdrew from the event.
When the broadcast called the athletes to the field, Lin Sui showed up in a pair of simple shorts, planning to compete just like that.
Zhu Huan frowned and grabbed her arm. “You’re not changing into long pants?”
“Long pants aren’t convenient.” Lin Sui smiled helplessly. “Don’t worry, it’s still early. The sun’s not strong. And even if it is later, I’ll just have them move the equipment into the shade.”
Zhu Huan fell silent for a while.
So this is the confidence of First High’s campus tyrant.
“Right. Guess I’m just overthinking it.”
Lin Sui laughed, waved her off. “Okay, I’m going.”
“Wait!”
Wen Xiangzhu’s lashes trembled as she suddenly called out to her.
Lin Sui stopped mid-step, turning back with a puzzled look.
The girl gave her a bright, sweet smile. “Good luck! I’ll be watching the match.”
Lin Sui looked at her for a long moment.
“Alright.”
When Lin Sui reached the sports field and was waiting for her event, she spotted Wen Xiangzhu beyond the railing.
As always, Wen sat in her wheelchair, her gaze quietly fixed in Lin Sui’s direction.
Just then, the loudspeakers crackled on.
[And now, a cheer letter from an anonymous student in Class 2, Grade 11, written for someone special: You are like the bright moon in the sky, like the stars shining across the galaxy, like]
The corner of Lin Sui’s eye twitched.
This was getting a little nauseating.
Since Wen Xiangzhu’s leg injury kept her from following her around all day, Ye Shuqian had naturally stepped in to fill that role. Aside from the competition itself, she stuck to Lin Sui like glue, as if that was the only way she could feel safe.
Their classmates watched curiously, eyes gleaming with the eager amusement of onlookers to a gossip fest.
“Isn’t Lin Sui supposed to be dating Wen Xiangzhu? Who’s this new girl suddenly clinging to her?”
“Don’t tell me she likes Lin Sui too?”
The whispers in class never stopped.
Lin Sui didn’t care. Ye Shuqian, who was using her as a shield from others, didn’t need to care either.
But Wen Xiangzhu was another matter entirely.
She was practically fuming.
“Why should she?” Wen shot a glance at Ye Shuqian, who even followed Lin Sui to the restroom, and scrunched up her face in a pout.
Lu Xiaomeng blinked and said softly, “Weren’t you doing the same thing before?”
“I”
Wen Xiangzhu faltered, then turned her head away. “That’s different.”
Lu Xiaomeng chuckled, but her tone carried quiet persuasion.
“I just think, Lin Sui is hard to read. Even if your relationship with her is good now, it’s best not to take it too seriously.”
When those photos had first circulated, Wen and Lu Xiaomeng had explained them away as just visiting Lin Sui’s house.
Lu had believed it, and still assumed there was nothing between them. But she could tell that Wen’s feelings for Lin Sui weren’t the same.
“What do you mean by that?”
Wen frowned, puzzled.
Lu Xiaomeng sighed.
“Wenwen, you do know that with someone like Lin Sui’s family background, her future is most likely to involve a business marriage, right?”
Wen Xiangzhu’s lashes trembled, a chill spreading through her chest.
Of course she knew. She even knew Lin Sui already had a fiancée.
“So what?”
Her lips pressed together stubbornly. “The future is the future. Right now is right now. You can’t give up trying just because of some possibility down the line, can you?”
Lu Xiaomeng paused, then nodded. “That’s true.”
When it came time for the awards, Ye Shuqian slipped nervously back to her own class.
Lin Sui, listening to the vice principal’s platitudes, went up to collect two utterly meaningless certificates, so dull she nearly dozed off.
She didn’t return to class right away, but lingered quietly at the side of the stage.
As expected, once the award ceremony ended, the head disciplinarian took the microphone.
After a few perfunctory remarks, she got to the point:
“Lately, there have been a lot of rumors circulating in our school, creating a negative impact.”
“Here I must single out a student from Class 1, Grade 11. According to reports, you’ve been caught engaging in early romance. There are even photos as evidence. Let me remind everyone here—early romance is not advisable.”
Lin Sui listened for a while, then set her certificates aside. She walked unhurriedly onto the stage, looked straight at the disciplinarian, and asked,
“A certain student from Class 1, Grade 11? Who exactly are you referring to?”
