The Stunning Omega CEO Always Wants Me to Mark Her - Chapter 10
Lin Sui’s memory wasn’t bad. At that moment, she finally recalled why Ye Shuqian had seemed so familiar to her.
Before the monthly exams, they had run into each other at the campus convenience store.
She remembered clearly—several girls had been standing together gossiping about how Chen Huaxing had confessed to Wen Xiangzhu.
Among them was Ye Shuqian.
Hearing Lin Sui speak, Ye Shuqian, who had been reading with her head down, froze in surprise. Clearly, she hadn’t expected Lin Sui to suddenly address her.
She instinctively brushed her neat bangs to the side before nodding.
“Yes, he’s in our class. Why do you ask?”
Xia Yi immediately leaned over.
“Sui-jie, don’t tell me you’re interested in Chen Huaxing?”
“No.” Lin Sui shook her head. “I just think that guy’s… pretty ridiculous.”
At that, Xia Yi jumped in eagerly, “Right, right! So it’s not just me! He always looks down on people, acting all high and mighty. I’ve been sick of him forever!”
She rattled on, then suddenly remembered something.
“Oh, by the way, did you see the gossip on the forum? That guy got rejected after confessing, and then started flaming the place himself. I nearly died laughing!!”
Zhu Huan, listening in, also chimed in excitedly, and soon the conversation turned lively.
Meanwhile, Lin Sui remained silent, quietly listening, her gaze fixed instead on Ye Shuqian sitting a short distance away, who hadn’t said a single word. There was a trace of curiosity in her eyes.
That night, Lin Sui slept poorly again.
She never slept well in a new bed, so the next morning she ended up entering class with Zhu Huan right as the bell rang.
“Everyone’s here, right?”
Yang Li propped herself casually against the podium, smiling.
“Most of you chose to stay in the new dormitory building…”
…
Lin Sui paid no attention, busied herself with tidying her desk and schoolbag. From the row ahead, Wen Xiangzhu glanced back at her briefly, then quietly turned back around.
The next moment, Lin Sui blinked, startled.
Why was there a carton of milk in her desk drawer?
Her brows knitted. She stared at it for a moment, trying to figure it out, but before she could think it through, Zhu Huan nudged her with an elbow.
“Not bad—you ranked 457th in the whole grade this time.”
Lin Sui hummed an absent response, still confused, then asked, “The rankings are out already?”
“Yeah, Old Yang’s reading out our class’s positions right now.”
Zhu Huan leaned back lazily in her chair. “Grades don’t matter much to me anyway. After graduation, I’ll just go intern at our company and work my way up from the bottom.”
She paused, then asked, “What about you, Sui? What’s your family planning for you?”
Lin Sui thought for a moment.
“Probably the same as you. I’ll have to gradually take over Lin Corporation.”
But in truth, as long as Wen Wenfu remained in the company, he was like a ticking time bomb. She would need time to carefully consider how to deal with him.
As she was mulling over this, a sudden commotion rippled through the class.
Startled, Lin Sui looked around blankly before leaning toward Zhu Huan.
“What’s going on?”
Zhu Huan’s eyes widened, and she lowered her voice in excitement.
“First place! Wen Xiangzhu came in first in the entire grade—she beat Chen Huaxing!!”
“By just half a point.”
Lin Sui narrowed her eyes slightly, gaze drifting to Wen Xiangzhu’s back.
Who would’ve thought? This girl was actually pretty capable.
She looked away, her tone flat.
“Half a point… just luck. Next time might not be the same.”
Zhu Huan glanced at her, as if she had seen through something, but only smiled without commenting further.
When class ended, Zhu Huan pulled out her phone, turned it on, and scooted her chair closer to Lin Sui.
“Remember what Chen Huaxing posted on the forum? Let’s see how he’s eating his words today!”
Lin Sui chuckled, idly twirling a pen between her fingers, but despite herself, her eyes followed the scrolling progress on Zhu Huan’s screen.
Ahead, Wen Xiangzhu finished dealing with a few classmates, then turned back toward Lin Sui.
“Don’t forget to drink the milk.”
Then, as if by magic, she produced a candy and placed it gently on Lin Sui’s desk.
“It’s chocolate-flavored. Try it.”
Even amid her excitement, Zhu Huan found the time to glance up at the desk, spotting the candy, and her lips curved in knowing amusement.
Lin Sui paused.
“If I want candy, I’ll buy it myself.”
As she spoke, she pulled out the milk carton from her drawer, set it on the desk, and pushed it toward the front.
“And this—take it back.”
Wen Xiangzhu’s lips parted slightly. She looked at Lin Sui for a long moment before speaking softly,
“I gave it to you. Why would I take it back?”
She had no intention of retrieving it. Turning away, she ignored Lin Sui, her mood visibly sour.
Lin Sui’s gaze lingered on her, landing on the back of Wen Xiangzhu’s neck.
The gland at her nape was hidden beneath her collar, only the corner of a pink suppressant patch peeking out.
“I’m done reading,” Zhu Huan whispered suddenly. “Chen Huaxing didn’t even dare say a word. The replies underneath are all mocking him—it’s so satisfying!”
Lin Sui clicked her tongue.
“Was the gossip that good?”
Zhu Huan blinked in confusion, then nodded earnestly.
“Of course it was!”
“Good.” Lin Sui smirked, and pushed the carton of milk into her hands.
“Then it’s yours.”
“…I don’t want it.”
Lin Sui tilted her head, staring at her.
With a sigh, Zhu Huan shook her head.
“Trust me. Keep it for yourself. One day, you’ll thank me.”
…?
Seeing Lin Sui’s skepticism, Zhu Huan hurried to add, “I mean it! You will!”
That day, Lin Sui ate both her meals at the school cafeteria. After fighting off her sleepiness through evening self-study, she returned to the dorm, washed up, and immediately collapsed into bed.
From her desk, Zhu Huan asked while scrolling on her phone,
“Sui-jie, have you seen Wen Xiangzhu’s chemistry workbook?”
“What?” Lin Sui opened her eyes reluctantly, her voice groggy.
“How would I know where her workbook is?”
Just then, Ye Shuqian entered the dorm and happened to hear this.
Her movements faltered slightly before she lowered her head and quietly walked back to her desk, aimlessly unlocking her phone without really looking at anything.
“She asked me,” Zhu Huan explained after a glance, then turned back to her phone.
“She told me to check if you’d seen it.”
Lin Sui frowned faintly.
“Why wouldn’t she ask me directly? Why go through you instead?”
Maybe… it was because they hadn’t exchanged contact info.
That thought sobered Lin Sui up a little.
“Wait a sec—how do you have her on your contacts?”
Zhu Huan chuckled.
“We added each other at the start of the term.”
Perhaps noticing Lin Sui’s expression, she quickly clarified,
“But we’ve never chatted, nothing at all.”
Lin Sui arched a brow, then looked away uncomfortably.
“What does that have to do with me?”
Zhu Huan smiled knowingly, walked over, and tapped her phone screen before holding it up to Lin Sui’s ear.
From the receiver came a sweet, delicate voice:
“Jiejie, I’m really in a hurry. Could you please help me look for it?”
Lin Sui: “……”
“Shouldn’t you at least check? She looked really anxious,” Zhu Huan tilted her head with a grin.
“Fine.”
Lin Sui shot Zhu Huan a resentful look, agreeing only with great reluctance.
She got up, walked to the desk, and rummaged through her schoolbag. To her surprise, she actually found a chemistry workbook with Wen Xiangzhu’s name written on it.
Her mind went blank for a moment.
“Wait—her workbook really is with me?”
Ye Shuqian couldn’t help glancing over. She shifted in her seat, fingers tapping lightly across her screen.
The door opened again. Xia Yi walked in with her bag slung over her shoulder, fuming. “What the hell, showing off at me for no reason!”
“What happened?” Zhu Huan asked curiously.
Xia Yi sighed, closing the door behind her. “It’s that self-important Alpha, Chen Huaxing. Just a below-average Alpha, yet he still looks down on me!”
“The monthly exam results came out today. I went to congratulate him for ranking second in the grade, but he had the nerve to mock me, saying the eternal runner-up has finally dropped to third!”
Lin Sui froze for a moment, then couldn’t suppress her laughter. “Exactly! Xia Yi is a top Alpha—how dare he?”
“And then?” Zhu Huan pressed eagerly.
Xia Yi snorted. “His pheromones can’t even suppress mine, and he still wouldn’t apologize. Worse, his little fangirl backed him up, throwing shade at me with every word.”
“…”
As she spoke, her eyes flicked toward Ye Shuqian in the corner. She let out a disdainful laugh, her expression sour.
“Fangirl?” Lin Sui blinked. “He actually has a fangirl?”
“Of course. That one who’s been hung up on him forever. Just mentioning her annoys me.” Xia Yi shot Ye Shuqian another look before waving it off. “Forget it, not worth talking about.”
Zhu Huan glanced at her phone and smiled. “Wen Xiangzhu just messaged me—she’s coming over to get her workbook.”
Lin Sui paused. “She’s coming here? What’s an Omega doing in the Alpha dorms? And how would she even know which room we’re in?”
“She knows,” Zhu Huan replied, looking at her.
“I told her.”
Lin Sui: “…”
Fine. Let her come. At least it saves me a trip and I can go to bed earlier.
Just then, Xia Yi frowned. “Wen Xiangzhu—that’s the one Chen Huaxing likes, isn’t it?”
“Right,” Zhu Huan nodded. “The Omega he wants but can’t have. And, coincidentally, the one who just beat him to first place in this month’s exam.”
“Wow, that’s straight out of a drama!”
Xia Yi laughed, clearly delighted. “Then I definitely need to meet her—just to piss Chen off!”
Lin Sui sat back down, workbook in hand. On the very first page, Wen Xiangzhu’s name was written in neat, elegant handwriting.
It was such a common thing—everyone had one—yet she found herself staring, lost in thought.
Catching herself, she shook her head. Seriously? Dazing off at a workbook?
Any trace of sleepiness was gone. She set it aside, restless.
She couldn’t just sit there waiting.
So she picked up her phone, but her eyes didn’t focus on the screen. Her fingers swiped back and forth across the home page aimlessly, doing nothing but making the minutes drag.
A faint frustration crept in. Every so often she glanced at the door, only to quickly look away and keep fiddling with her phone.
Suddenly, a knock sounded on the dorm room door.
Lin Sui straightened at once, but before she could move, Xia Yi was already opening it.
“Hello, I’m here for Lin Sui.”
Wen Xiangzhu stood at the doorway, hair loose around her shoulders, dressed in a soft goose-yellow T-shirt. She looked obedient and a little shy as she waited outside.
“Oh, sure.” Xia Yi beamed, turning back to call, “Sui-jie, someone’s here for you!”
Then she looked again at Wen Xiangzhu. “You’re the one who ranked first this time, right? Amazing!”
“It’s nothing, just lucky,” Wen Xiangzhu answered with a modest smile.
“So humble! Honestly, comparisons are brutal,” Xia Yi muttered, recalling Chen Huaxing’s smug face and feeling her temper flare all over again.
“Chen Huaxing’s no good. Ignoring him was the smartest thing you could do—absolutely right! Oh, by the way, I’m Xia Yi…”
She was still chattering when Lin Sui came over, workbook in hand. Without a word, she held it out to Wen Xiangzhu.
“Next time, don’t misplace it again.”
“Mm, got it.” Wen Xiangzhu lowered her gaze, a bit embarrassed, and nodded.
Xia Yi scratched her head, realizing she might have talked too much. “Um… do you want to come in for a bit?”
“Come in? Is that really appropriate?”
Lin Sui arched a brow at her, then said to Wen Xiangzhu, “Alright, you’ve got what you came for—head back.”
“Okay, I’ll go then. Thank you, Sui-jie. And thank you too, Zhu-jie, Xia Yi-jie. Goodbye.”
“Bye-bye! Message us when you get back to your dorm,” Xia Yi called cheerfully after her. She shut the door with a smile, then sighed, “What a sweet girl.”
Zhu Huan chuckled. “Yeah. Too sweet.”
Ye Shuqian had already climbed into bed at some point, drawing her curtain closed. She sat quietly inside, eyes lowered to her phone.
On the screen, the chat interface showed the last message sent:
[She’s gone.]
