The Silly Shou Transmigrated Into a Book - Chapter 1
“Gu Qiuyi, why are you standing there in a daze?” A boy of a similar age gave Gu Qiuyi a push, snapping him back to his senses.
“You finally got the chance to attend Chu Yueguang’s birthday party, and you’re wasting it daydreaming?” The boy spoke hurriedly and left immediately after.
Had he looked closer, he would have noticed that Gu Qiuyi’s white shirt—which should have been pristine—was in a state of disarray. Two buttons were missing, his neatly styled hair was a mess, and there was a faint, lingering flush on his face.
He looked exactly like someone who had just climbed out of someone’s bed.
The other boy didn’t notice, but Gu Qiuyi reacted quickly. He rushed to a window to use the glass as a mirror and tidy his clothes.
In truth, he had just come from someone’s bed—specifically, he had been personally kicked out of it by the guest of honor, Chu Yueguang.
After fixing his appearance, Gu Qiuyi studied the reflection in the transparent glass. It was a face with soft, rounded contours, yet it was undeniably exquisite and beautiful. It was eighty percent similar to his original face, but refined by several degrees, appearing softer and more delicate.
As he stared, his eyes began to sparkle. His slender fingers tightened into a fist, and with a joyful “Yeah!” whispered under his breath, he punched the air in a small arc of triumph.
Although he had just been heartlessly driven away by the host of the banquet, it didn’t dampen his spirits in the slightest. The reason was simple: the boy whose body he now inhabited shared his name, but unlike his own impoverished background, this “Gu Qiuyi” was a Fu’er dai—a second-generation wealthy youth!
He was rich now!
Gu Qiuyi’s greatest dream in life was to live off his parents’ wealth and be a carefree socialite. Unfortunately, reality had always been at odds with his dreams. In his previous life, he was an orphan, struggling through school and life in bitter poverty. He hadn’t been happy at all.
Even though his mind was still a bit foggy, he understood his current situation. He suppressed his inner joy, glanced at his surroundings, and followed the path the previous boy had taken.
He was currently at one of the luxury villas belonging to the male lead of this BL novel, Chu Yueguang. It was truly magnificent. As far as the eye could see, there were vast, expensive lawns and residential zones. Beyond the main hall used for banquets, the villa was equipped with a media room, a gym, a game room, a billiard hall, a bar, a karaoke room, and a card room.
It was evening, and the sprawling streetlights illuminated the villa as if it were broad daylight.
Today was Chu Yueguang’s 20th birthday. Because elite families placed great importance on coming-of-age ceremonies, Chu Yueguang hadn’t thrown a massive gala; he had simply invited peers of his own age to celebrate.
Given Gu Qiuyi’s status, he didn’t actually have the right to attend. He had tagged along with his classmate, Jiang Hansa, to join the fun.
In the original novel, the original Gu Qiuyi knew that Chu Yueguang held an illustrious position. Thus, he had sneaked into Chu Yueguang’s room today, attempting to offer himself. He failed. Chu Yueguang had returned to change his clothes, discovered him, and ruthlessly thrown him out. Fearing that Chu Yueguang would expose him and cause him to lose face, the original Gu Qiuyi had fled home early.
Gu Qiuyi racked his brain to remember the original character’s ending. He had read too many books and his memory wasn’t great. After a long while, it clicked: the original Gu Qiuyi was mere cannon fodder who died within a few chapters. Worse, the offended Chu Yueguang had eventually caused the Gu family to go bankrupt and sent the boy to prison!
Gu Qiuyi shuddered.
Bankruptcy? Prison? Absolutely not!
I want to be a wealthy socialite forever!
With that thought, he realized he had to explain the “bed-climbing” incident to Chu Yueguang.
If I say I walked into the wrong room, he’ll believe me, right?
However, when he arrived at the party scene, his newfound courage instantly withered.
Chu Yueguang was sitting on a sofa. Even the warm-toned lights hitting his face couldn’t dispel the gloomy displeasure there. Because of his foul mood, a “vacuum zone” had formed around him; no one dared to provoke him. Due to his family background, Chu Yueguang had quite a temper and was notoriously unpredictable. To annoy him at a time like this was to risk being humiliated in public.
Nevertheless, many gazes still lingered on him, intentionally or otherwise. The reason was simple: Chu Yueguang possessed an exceptionally superior face.
At twenty, an age between youth and manhood, he possessed both the arrogance and sharpness of a teenager and the steady composure of a man who wouldn’t blink if a mountain collapsed before him. These two traits blended into an intoxicating aura. He sat with his head slightly tilted; his hair was short, revealing a full forehead that made his features look even more profound. His high nose bridge and cold, pale skin added an air of reserved nobility.
His long legs were stretched out, and his back rested casually against the sofa. Just by sitting there, he drew the eyes of everyone in the room.
He watched the surrounding revelry with a cold, dark expression. When someone offered him a drink, he pushed them away without hesitation. Clearly, his mood was terrible. Earlier, he might have worn the slight smile of a birthday host, but now, there was none.
His close friend, Kou Huai, sat down beside him. “Who upset you? Why the long face?”
Chu Yueguang paused and suddenly turned his head. His gaze nearly locked with Gu Qiuyi’s.
Terrified, Gu Qiuyi ducked behind a tall boy, dodging the look.
Chu Yueguang had seen him. He pursed his lips, his youthful cheeks puffing out slightly, clearly still fuming. He asked Kou Huai in a raspy voice, “Who is that boy?”
Kou Huai followed his gaze. “Who?”
Chu Yueguang pointed a finger toward the half of Gu Qiuyi’s body that was visible. Kou Huai craned his neck to look, catching a glimpse of a face that was unfamiliar. “Don’t know him. Probably a classmate Hansa brought along.”
Chu Yueguang frowned. “Tell him not to bring such messy people here.”
“How is he ‘messy’?” Kou Huai looked closer at Gu Qiuyi. “He’s quite good-looking. A very clean-looking high school boy.”
Chu Yueguang let out a cold sneer. Clean? How can a “clean” boy climb into my bed?
A thick layer of loathing surfaced in Chu Yueguang’s eyes. He detested those who used their looks to throw themselves at others. Gu Qiuyi had gone as far as stripping naked and lying in his bed, which violated his deepest taboos. Not beating the boy up and merely throwing him out was the limit of his patience.
Seeing that the person still dared to appear before him, Chu Yueguang’s anger flared. He stood up abruptly, causing the laughter in the room to die down as people looked at him in confusion.
Chu Yueguang spared Gu Qiuyi one last cold glance. “I have things to do. You guys have fun.”
With that, he strode away.
With the guest of honor gone, the atmosphere grew less lively. Gu Qiuyi, who had been frozen under that stare, finally breathed a sigh of relief.
It didn’t occur to him that Chu Yueguang had left because he didn’t want to breathe the same air as him. Now that his target for reconciliation was gone, he looked at Kou Huai. Remembering that this person was close with Chu Yueguang, he navigated through the crowd and stood before him.
Summoning his courage, he said, “Hello.”
Kou Huai turned around. Seeing Gu Qiuyi, a grin spread across his face. “Hello. Is something the matter?”
Gu Qiuyi tried to speak, but his nerves made him cough. Kou Huai poured a glass of water and handed it to him. “Drink some water. Don’t worry, take your time.”
Gu Qiuyi’s face turned bright red from coughing. After a few sips, he calmed down. His eyes were slightly moist, making them shimmer like bright crystals. “Excuse me, do you have Chu Yueguang’s contact information?”
Kou Huai wasn’t surprised. He asked, “Are you Jiang Hansa’s classmate?”
Gu Qiuyi nodded.
Kou Huai took out his phone and waved it. “Let’s add each other first, and then I’ll give you his contact info.”
Gu Qiuyi happily pulled out his phone to scan the QR code. “Thank you so much!”
Seeing that unshielded, brilliant smile, Kou Huai’s eyes flickered. He cleared his throat. “Yueguang doesn’t easily add strangers. If you want him to accept, I can put in a word for you.”
Gu Qiuyi was pleasantly surprised. “Really? Then I’ll have to trouble you!”
Kou Huai’s gaze repeatedly swept over the boy’s beautiful face. He was bisexual and had dated several boyfriends before. They were all handsome, but Gu Qiuyi had a pure, clean quality about him. Even the way he looked at people was as clear as spring water—a trait Kou Huai’s previous partners lacked.
He coughed again. He figured Chu Yueguang wouldn’t bother with the boy anyway; even if they added each other, it would be useless. Eventually, the boy would likely fall into his own hands instead.
Kou Huai gave Gu Qiuyi the WeChat ID and sent a message to Chu Yueguang telling him to add someone. He then turned back to Gu Qiuyi. “Alright, he should add you in a bit.”
He paused, then asked, “By the way, why do you want his contact info?”
Gu Qiuyi’s smile faded, replaced by an apologetic look. “I can’t tell you that.”
Kou Huai wasn’t that curious; there were only a few reasons why someone would want Chu Yueguang’s info. After all, Chu Yueguang was incredibly handsome. Even with Kou Huai’s broad experience, he hadn’t seen many who could surpass that face. Since kindergarten, girls had chased him, and at this age, his ability to attract “bees and butterflies” had only worsened.
Kou Huai maintained a polite smile. “It’s fine, I was just asking.”
He lowered his voice. “I helped you out quite a bit. Surely you have some way to show your appreciation?”
Kou Huai was only a year younger than Chu Yueguang. Like his friend, he came from a wealthy family—the only son of the Kou family. He had been pampered since childhood, but because of his good family upbringing and Chu Yueguang’s example of self-discipline, he was relatively conservative in his conduct.
However, being “conservative” didn’t mean he didn’t have a wandering mind. As he spoke, his fingers stroked his wine glass, and his eyes fixed on Gu Qiuyi’s soft, red lips. He began to wonder if he could take a little advantage—even holding a hand would be nice.
Yet, Gu Qiuyi didn’t catch his drift. He smiled again and lowered his voice mysteriously. “I have some ‘good stuff’ at home. I’ll send it to you later.”
Kou Huai: “…What ‘good stuff’?”
He instinctively looked at Gu Qiuyi’s clothes. No logos, the stitching wasn’t particularly dense, and while the texture was decent, it certainly wasn’t a luxury brand. His family was likely well-off, but nowhere near the level of their circle.
What kind of “good stuff” could someone like that have?
Gu Qiuyi said with absolute certainty, “You’ll like it. All we high school boys love it.”
Kou Huai suppressed the itch in his heart and agreed with a smile.
Two hours after the banquet ended, Kou Huai finally received several video files from Gu Qiuyi.
Kou Huai looked closely. The first file was titled: [Young Couple Frolicking by the Sea, Onlookers Gather]
The second file: [Man vs. Pure Beautiful Girl vs. Angry Wife]
The third file: [The Untold Story of a Housewife and Seven Dwarves]
Kou Huai instinctively swallowed.
A message from Gu Qiuyi followed: “The internet censorship is really strict lately. These are ‘resources’ I spent over an hour searching for just for you. Thank you for helping me get Chu Yueguang’s WeChat.”
Kou Huai laughed to himself, amused by the boy’s innocence. In the adult world, “resources” weren’t hard to find.
Still, Kou Huai accepted the gesture. He sent a quick “No problem,” grabbed a box of tissues, and sat on his bed.
He clicked the first video. The relaxed smile on his face froze.
He silently exited the file, double-checking the title: [Young Couple Frolicking by the Sea, Onlookers Gather]. He clicked it again. The scene playing before his eyes was a cartoon: Nezha Conquers the Dragon King.
Kou Huai closed that one and opened the second: [Man vs. Pure Beautiful Girl vs. Angry Wife]. Another cartoon: Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf.
With trembling fingers, he opened the third file: [The Untold Story of a Housewife and Seven Dwarves]—
It was Calabash Brothers (Seven Gourd Boys)!!!
Kou Huai: “…”
Dammit!
