After being reborn, Zhong Manjing walks back into the small, hidden noodle shop where Lin Yuqing is laying low. In three months, Lin Yuqing would have been discovered, tortured, and forced to become Zhong Manjing’s “sister-in-law” in name only.

What started as a game Lin Yuqing was sure to win ended up becoming a cage she entered willingly.
[The “Surgery” Incident] Before the grand wedding, Lin Yuqing suddenly faints at home. A private medical team is called in. Zhong Manjing, clutching a plane ticket, cries as if her heart is breaking: “Do you have a terminal illness? Is that why you’re sending me away? Doctor, will my wife still be… functional after this?”
After a long silence, Lin Yuqing says: “Baby, I’m just having my appendix removed, not my hands. Besides, I can still—”
The doctors and nurses: “…”
“Shameless! You’re not allowed to speak!” Zhong Manjing looks at the feather teaser toy held between Lin Yuqing’s fingers and turns away with a flushed face.
