#Cheng Jingling & Ji Yufu Spotted Spending the Night at a Hotel
“Hey, did you see the trending news? Ji Yufu and Cheng Jingling were caught meeting at a hotel. Word is, they even ended up in the hospital afterward! Can’t tell if it’s true or just gossip.”
A young nurse chatted animatedly with her colleague while changing into her uniform.
“I saw it! Totally shattered my worldview. I can’t believe Ji Yufu would do something like this. I even used to be a fan of hers. Guess they’re all the same—dirty crows in the same flock!” Her colleague scoffed in outrage.
As more staff filtered into the department, the chatter grew louder. Everyone was eager to share the shocking tidbits they had stayed up all night scrolling for, indulging one another’s appetite for gossip.
“Hey, I heard Cheng Jingling and Ji Yufu are actually hospitalized here. Is that true?”
“Anyone here in charge of their ward? Come on, spill the details. I’m dying to know.”
“Wait, wait—I’ve got something!” another nurse piped up, waving her phone as she scrolled through the staff group chat.
“It says Ji Yufu and Cheng Jingling really are admitted here. One’s in the East Wing, the other in the North Wing, and their conditions aren’t the same. Ji Yufu was hospitalized because of pheromone loss of control, while Cheng Jingling… apparently sustained a head injury.”
Everyone: “Huh??”
Ji Yufu’s condition they could at least understand. But Cheng Jingling’s head injury—what on earth was that about?
The gossipers stared at the nurse who was reading the updates, faces filled with disbelief. Caught in the awkwardness, she scrolled up and down repeatedly to confirm she hadn’t misread, then scratched her head sheepishly. “Maybe… they just… played too rough?”
“Pfft~”
The crowd dispersed, only to freeze when they spotted the head nurse standing at the door, face dark as thunder. In an instant, the chatterboxes scattered like mice before a cat, scrambling to look busy. Only the nurse still holding her phone hadn’t realized danger was behind her.
The head nurse stormed up, snatched the phone from her hand, and barked, “Rough play? I’ll rough you up! Keep running your mouth and you’ll be blooming flowers in the unemployment line!”
The nurse spun around, ready to snap back—only to shrink instantly when she saw who it was. Head hanging low, she slunk away in silence.
“I’ll say this once more,” the head nurse thundered, “During work hours, you are to stay laser-focused. You know very well who’s lying in these wards. If anything goes wrong, not even the King of Heaven could save you! And another thing—patient privacy is not gossip fodder. If I catch anyone whispering again, you’re out!”
Her booming words sent a shiver down the room. Everyone silently prayed they wouldn’t be the next target.

Meanwhile, the very subject of the nationwide scandal—Best Actress Ji Yufu—had already woken. Propped against the headboard, she gazed absently at the sunny blue sky outside while her assistant, He Yue, poured her a glass of water.
After a long moment, Ji Yufu finally asked the question she dreaded most:
“How bad is the hotel incident?”
“It’s fine now, Sister Ah Fu. You don’t need to worry.”
“Yueyue, I know you’re trying to comfort me. But I also know exactly whose toes I’ve stepped on. This won’t be so easy to clean up. Tell me the truth.”
He Yue faltered, her face troubled. Ji Yufu had only just woken up—how could she bear this so soon?
“Sister Ah Fu, I…”
“Spit it out. Why the hesitation? Yueyue, if you keep stammering, I’ll start docking your pay.”
The crisp, teasing voice came from the doorway. Both Ji Yufu and He Yue turned to see Jiang Yun walking in.
Relief flooded He Yue’s face as she rushed to greet her, taking the insulated food container from her hands. “Sister Yun! Honestly, even now you’re still joking around?”
Jiang Yun only smiled warmly, taking a seat by Ji Yufu’s bedside and clasping her hand. “How are you feeling?”
“Much better. Thank you, Sister Yun.”
“We’re family—no need for thanks.”
He Yue unpacked the food container. Fragrant aromas filled the room: delicate pastries on the top tier, nourishing soups and bird’s nest porridge beneath. She plated everything and passed it to Ji Yufu.
Ji Yufu stared at the shimmering broth, bracing herself for the worst. “Sister Yun, just tell me.”
Jiang Yun’s smile froze for a heartbeat. Ji Yufu was too perceptive—there was no hiding it from her forever.
“Eat first. I’ll explain afterward.”
Ji Yufu frowned at the food. She had no appetite, but she knew Jiang Yun’s temperament—if she didn’t eat, she wouldn’t hear a word. So she forced herself to nibble a pastry and down the bowl of soup. Only then did Jiang Yun smile again.
Once He Yue cleared the dishes and tactfully left them alone, Jiang Yun clasped Ji Yufu’s hand with eyes brimming in apology. “Yufu, it’s my fault. I couldn’t protect you.”
Ji Yufu’s gaze darkened, though she said nothing.
“This blew up too big. We can’t suppress it. The paparazzi leaked that you and Cheng Jingling went to a hotel and ended up hospitalized. They released the news so fast, even the Cheng family couldn’t negotiate them down. Now the whole internet is tearing apart your relationship with her… saying awful things.”
Ji Yufu lowered her eyes. She had expected as much.
“Worse still,” Jiang Yun continued, “production crews and brand partners have pulled out. Even those with contracts are demanding to terminate, and they want us to cover the penalties. For the next while… you’ll have no work.”
“How long is ‘a while’?”
“You had about six months of projects lined up. They’re… all gone.”
Ji Yufu absorbed the blow in silence, her expression unreadable. She had known there would be fallout. But knowing was different from facing it head-on. With no powerful backer, she understood why Jiang Yun had chosen compromise.
Jiang Yun squeezed her hand, voice soft. “Don’t be afraid. I’ve already been negotiating. The plan is to cooperate with them and minimize the damage. It won’t ruin your career.”
“I figured as much. Thank you, Sister Yun.” Ji Yufu forced a fragile smile, pale as snow—like a frail edelweiss blooming against the cold.
Jiang Yun’s heart ached. She smoothed her hands over Ji Yufu’s, murmuring, “Focus on recovering. Let me handle this.”
But Ji Yufu shook her head. “No. I need to know the next steps.”
So Jiang Yun relented. “It’s been two days since this broke. Neither side has issued a response, and public opinion is turning against us. We can’t drag it out. Both PR teams have agreed—you and Cheng Jingling will officially announce your relationship today. Once it’s labeled as romance, we’ll slowly plant ‘relationship details’ to boost credibility. When you’re both discharged, you’ll appear together to sell the CP image. Later, when the storm passes, we’ll stage a breakup.”
Ji Yufu listened, her face taut. After a long silence, she exhaled weakly. “So… that’s the only option.”
Jiang Yun hated it too. Everyone in the industry knew what kind of spoiled heiress Cheng Jingling was. But against the Cheng family, they had no choice.
Ji Yufu clenched her teeth and forced herself to accept. “How far along are we?”
“The materials are ready. Both teams are coordinating with the platform to block negative news and push our announcement instead. What comes after will depend on your recovery. But the hardest part will be calming your fans.
Yesterday, after the leaks, they went into overdrive defending you online and demanding clarification. The fan club executives even wanted to come see you—we barely managed to dissuade them.”
“And today… once the announcement goes live, you’ll lose a lot of fans. Your public image and reputation will take a major hit.”
Ji Yufu’s throat tightened. She whispered, “I know. I’m sorry to them.” Her eyes reddened despite her effort to stay strong.
“Don’t be afraid,” Jiang Yun said firmly, drawing her into a gentle hug. “We’ve always been upright and clean in this industry. We’ll weather this.”
