The Scumbag Who Bowed for Money - Chapter 39
Le Shi’s words were clearly a challenge to Xie Yuanwei. The alpha willingly gave up part of her control, and the omega obediently leaned back. She tilted her head, allowing warm kisses to gently fall onto her skin.
“What do you think, Le Shi?”
Xie Yuanwei held her in her arms and kissed her, slowly guiding the omega backward until they both sank into the sofa together.
Le Shi clutched Xie Yuanwei’s hand. She raised her leg, pressing it against the alpha’s abdomen, stopping her from getting any closer. Breathing softly, her eyes welled with tears.
“I want to hear you say it.”
The alpha gave a low chuckle. She gently squeezed Le Shi’s hand and whispered softly, “Alright.”
Le Shi was as pliant as water, letting herself be teased without resistance. Even when she was hurt a little, she only let out soft sounds in response.
Xie Yuanwei brought Le Shi’s hand to her own cheek and closed her eyes, gently rubbing against it. Then she heard the omega ask, “Why are you crying?”
The sound of her voice felt like it would drown Xie Yuanwei in an illusion, a mist that slowly suffocated her. She closed her eyes and felt the sensation of Le Shi’s fingertips moving across her skin.
“It feels like I have nothing.”
“Like I’ve lost everything.”
The feeling threatened to swallow her whole. Xie Yuanwei was falling into a whirlpool she could not escape from. Each time she was dragged deeper until she lost her sense of direction.
“There’s a small patch of land in the garden. Do you want it?”
Xie Yuanwei was stunned for a few seconds. She looked up at Le Shi.
“What do you mean?”
Le Shi curled forward and hugged her. Her lips were slightly red and swollen from being bitten. A blush had spread across her face. She pressed her face into Xie Yuanwei’s neck.
“I’m lending you a piece of land. Rent is one yuan a day. Plant whatever you like, just help me take care of it.”
“That comes to thirty yuan a month.” Le Shi closed her eyes. She seemed tired. “When I bought this house, it was because of the garden. I spent a lot of effort maintaining it. Later, when work got too busy, I hired a helper.”
Xie Yuanwei held her tighter and listened quietly.
“Do you want it?”
The alpha was silent for a while. Then she pulled Le Shi toward her again and kissed her. She didn’t stop until the omega’s body began to tremble slightly. Xie Yuanwei was breathing heavily.
“I’ll rent it.”
Their kisses had nothing to do with love. It seemed like Le Shi was using it as a way to comfort Xie Yuanwei. The heat between them built steadily. The omega lay on the sofa, arms wrapped around the alpha’s neck, the sound of kissing echoing in the air.
Xiao Wei was curled up in her little house, quietly watching the two of them.
“Meow”
“Have you named the kitten?”
Le Shi came downstairs, drying her hair. Xie Yuanwei had already prepared the meal. The kitten was circling around her ankles.
Xie Yuanwei looked at Le Shi and picked up the kitten. The little one stared directly at the omega. Xie Yuanwei smiled.
“Her name is Xiao Wei.”
“Wei?” Le Shi walked into the kitchen to get bowls and chopsticks. “Which character is that?”
Xie Yuanwei cleared her throat.
“The one from my name.”
Le Shi paused.
“Xiao Wei” she repeated the name twice, then lowered her head and smiled. She put down the bowls and reached out to pick up Xiao Wei. The kitten didn’t resist at all and even seemed very affectionate.
Le Shi gently scratched the kitten’s chin and smiled.
“Xiao Wei, Xiao Wei. Yuanwei, Yuanwei. Hm.”
“Is it not good?”
“I like it.”
Xie Yuanwei only looked satisfied after hearing her answer. She brought a bowl of soup over to Le Shi.
“I just learned this recipe today. Try it.”
Le Shi took a sip and found the taste surprisingly good. She continued drinking and sighed lightly.
“I have a photoshoot tomorrow.”
“A photoshoot?”
Le Shi nodded.
“I was invited. It’s an intimate one. With how public opinion is going right now, this kind of shoot can help ease people into it. It also helps stir up some attention. Do you want to come?”
Xie Yuanwei took a bite of rice.
“Why not? Sure, I’ll go.”
The omega glanced at her for a moment and asked playfully, “You seem to be in a good mood.”
Xie Yuanwei gave two short hums in response and didn’t say anything else.
They finished dinner while chatting casually. Then Xie Yuanwei sliced up some fruit and brought it upstairs. Le Shi had found an old movie that suddenly caught her interest.
“Last time we didn’t finish it. This time we’ll watch it properly.”
Le Shi lay down in a comfortable position. Xie Yuanwei sat next to her. The omega rested her head on the alpha’s leg, half closing her eyes.
“Is it uncomfortable for you if I lean like this?”
Xie Yuanwei didn’t reply. She quietly raised her hand and began to massage Le Shi’s temples. The movie slowly began. It was a bittersweet love story with a complicated plot. At first, Le Shi still managed to feed the alpha a few pieces of fruit, but her movements gradually slowed.
“Le Shi? President Le?”
Xie Yuanwei looked over carefully. Le Shi had already fallen asleep, still holding the fork with a piece of fruit on it.
The movie slowly reached its ending. The male and female leads finally arrived at the heart of the story. Soft music began to play, and flickering lights cast a gentle glow over them. Xie Yuanwei lifted Le Shi into her arms, turned off the movie, and gently carried the omega back to the bedroom.
Le Shi was tucked under the covers by Xie Yuanwei. The alpha quickly took a shower, dimmed the lights, and then got into bed.
“I… I think I fell asleep.”
Just as Xie Yuanwei was about to move, she heard Le Shi murmur softly. She let out a quiet laugh.
“Yes, once again, we didn’t manage to finish a whole movie.”
Le Shi gave a faint hum and spoke in a hoarse voice.
“I feel so tired. The moment I relax, I get really sleepy.”
Xie Yuanwei replied in a warm tone.
“That’s alright. We’ll watch it next time.”
Le Shi suddenly remembered something.
“Did you finish watching that movie from last time?”
“Yes.”
“Was it good?”
Xie Yuanwei held Le Shi tightly as the omega nestled into her arms. She answered softly.
“It wasn’t.”
Le Shi tilted her head and touched Xie Yuanwei’s face, then moved up slightly.
“Let’s find a better one next time.”
The alpha responded with a quiet hum. She lowered her head and kissed the omega. Le Shi arched her back, pressing against her. Her clothes were already slightly disheveled from their movements. Xie Yuanwei pulled back a little and looked down.
“What is it?”
Le Shi took a deep breath and wrapped her arms around Xie Yuanwei again. She closed her eyes, her tone sticky with drowsiness.
“Tomorrow’s photoshoot will be featured in a magazine. Everyone there is sharp and observant. I keep feeling like our pheromones aren’t strong enough.”
“Really?”
Xie Yuanwei realized what Le Shi meant as soon as she finished speaking. She paused for a moment and quietly sensed the air. Then she noticed just how intense their pheromones had become. The omega was practically soaked in the scent of green citrus.
She gently pushed Le Shi away and whispered.
“It can’t get any stronger than this.”
Only then did Le Shi open her eyes. She stayed silent for a few seconds before replying.
“I can feel it now. I must have subconsciously thought it still wasn’t enough.”
Xie Yuanwei gave a small smile.
“Let’s sleep.”
“Alright.”
Xie Yuanwei wanted to say something more, but Le Shi had already fallen asleep. Her breathing was steady and calm.
The alpha took a deep breath and said softly,
“Good night.”
The next morning, Xie Yuanwei woke up with Le Shi. They got ready early and headed straight to the photoshoot location. As soon as they arrived, they drew most of the attention in the room.
Le Shi glanced around casually.
“Let’s get started.”
The photographer in charge of the shoot turned her head to look at them. When she met Xie Yuanwei’s gaze, she smiled with an unreadable expression and curled her lips.
“Alright then. Let’s begin.”
Did you really think I wouldn’t stir things up?
If I don’t shake things up today, I’ll bite my tongue tomorrow.
