The Scumbag Who Bowed for Money - Chapter 38
Xie Yuanwei hung up the phone. Le Shi had even reminded her specifically not to go out. In this regard, the alpha was quite obedient. She sat quietly on the sofa, already thinking about what to eat for dinner.
Le Shi returned quickly. The car had barely come to a stop before Xie Yuanwei ran out. Her eyes sparkled with joy, as if she had been waiting for a precious treasure to come home.
And truthfully, Le Shi was a treasure.
“I thought I’d have to wait a bit longer,” Xie Yuanwei said as she took the small cake from Le Shi’s hands. The omega smiled at the alpha, then casually turned her gaze to Cheng Xiao.
“Miss Cheng. Hello.”
Xie Yuanwei had her back to Cheng Xiao. She kept her gaze on Le Shi, and the omega met her eyes again. From the look in Le Shi’s eyes, Xie Yuanwei could more or less understand her intentions.
Then she saw Le Shi raise her hand, her fingertip lightly brushing the alpha’s face. The touch was so gentle it felt like it could disappear with a breeze.
But in the next second, Le Shi pressed her whole palm against Xie Yuanwei’s cheek. The omega stood on tiptoe, wrapped her arms around the alpha’s neck, and placed a soft kiss on her face.
“I don’t want to see her, but I need to make it clear where I stand.”
Le Shi looked up, locking eyes with Xie Yuanwei. Her waist was tightly held in the alpha’s embrace. The omega smiled faintly, her warm breath brushing gently against Xie Yuanwei’s skin.
“Don’t worry.”
After saying that, Le Shi moved to stand by Xie Yuanwei’s side. The alpha took a deep breath and immediately understood what Le Shi meant. Any hesitation she had vanished completely.
Xie Yuanwei took Le Shi’s hand and walked confidently toward Cheng Xiao. Her gaze never left Le Shi. There was a hint of pride in her expression. Looking down at Cheng Xiao, she spoke in a soft but clear voice.
“I’ll say it again. My partner and I are doing just fine. If you keep disturbing our life, you will regret it.”
Cheng Xiao bit her lip and had just opened her mouth to speak when Le Shi grabbed her chin. The omega’s eyes were cold and filled with strength.
“Cheng Xiao, I don’t care who’s behind you. You better behave yourself.”
After she finished, Le Shi let go and gave her hand a small flick, as if ridding herself of something unpleasant. Xie Yuanwei also gave Cheng Xiao a glance and said calmly,
“Aren’t you leaving?”
It was unclear who Cheng Xiao was truly afraid of. Her eyes shifted, but in the end, she said nothing and turned to walk away.
After she left, Xie Yuanwei led Le Shi back into the house with a calm expression. She even thoughtfully brought out a pair of clean slippers for her.
But the truth was, Xie Yuanwei was deeply flustered. Le Shi had always been bold and direct, acting with unwavering confidence. Xie Yuanwei, on the other hand, was different. Her personality and habits didn’t make it easy for her to deal with words like “make someone pay the price.” She was simply repeating lines she had read somewhere.
“Xie Yuanwei.”
Just as she knelt down, her chin was lifted by Le Shi’s fingertips. The omega licked her lips, raised her knee, and pressed it firmly onto the alpha’s shoulder.
“Don’t move.”
Xie Yuanwei remained in a half-squat, looking up into Le Shi’s eyes. The omega was applying pressure, and the weight on her shoulder made it difficult to hold steady. But since Le Shi said not to move, she wouldn’t move.
Le Shi acted like her master.
She slowly stroked Xie Yuanwei’s face. Her expression remained calm, almost emotionless. The lighting in the room cast shadows between them, making it feel like they were trapped in their own little space.
Someone came to see me this morning,” Le Shi said casually. “And someone came to see you this afternoon. Don’t you think that’s fate?”
Sweat had already begun to form on Xie Yuanwei’s forehead. She let out a small sound of agreement, but her eyes never left Le Shi.
“Bo Zhiqu came to find me this afternoon,” Le Shi continued with a sigh. She lowered her head and slowly untied her hair. Her fingers moved behind her neck, and the sound of peeling off an adhesive strip was quiet but distinct.
“She said you feel very insecure.”
“Is that true?”
Le Shi looked back down into Xie Yuanwei’s eyes.
“What kind of person do you think I am?”
Xie Yuanwei wasn’t sure why Le Shi was asking these questions, but she answered honestly.
“You’re very capable. And you’re perfect.”
“What else? In terms of your lifestyle and how you are with me?”
Xie Yuanwei swallowed.
“You don’t really like people getting too close.”
A flicker of amusement appeared in Le Shi’s eyes. She tilted her head and pressed down harder on Xie Yuanwei’s shoulder. But the alpha still didn’t move.
“Bo Zhiqu said I’m too distant. Even though we’re not at the point of being completely inseparable, Cheng Xiao’s appearance really upset me.”
“She also said that alphas have physical needs, and that an omega partner can bring great comfort to their alpha.”
“I feel like you haven’t been in the best mood lately, Xie Yuanwei. I want you to trust me.”
Xie Yuanwei’s breathing grew heavier. Her face was flushed, and holding the same position for so long had drained her strength. She looked up seriously and asked,
“Do omegas have needs too?”
“Yes.”
Le Shi’s voice seemed to come from far away. Xie Yuanwei looked up at her, and finally dropped to one knee with steady posture.
The omega’s eyes were soft, as if she was trying to tell her that yes, she was willing.
There was no other reason. She simply wanted Xie Yuanwei to know that this omega had accepted her alpha.
Xie Yuanwei slowly stood up. Her eyes lowered as she gazed into Le Shi’s. The omega’s eyelashes trembled slightly as the alpha leaned in, step by step, until Le Shi’s back was pressed against the wall.
Le Shi lifted her head slightly, panting softly. She was trapped in the corner by Xie Yuanwei’s pheromones. One lift of her hand, and beyond that wall was the endless stretch of road.
A quiet sound escaped her lips.
The omega stuck out her tongue, only to have her face gently but firmly held by Xie Yuanwei. Her head was turned to the side, her breath stolen. A thin, clear trail stretched and broke in the air as the alpha pulled away. Le Shi lowered her eyes. Her chest rose and fell, and the scent of green citrus filled every inch of her body.
She looked up again and met Xie Yuanwei’s gaze. The alpha was watching her intently. For the first time, Xie Yuanwei revealed a sharper edge of herself. She pinned Le Shi firmly against the wall, pressing the omega’s hands behind her back. The cold surface of the wall made Le Shi tremble.
Xie Yuanwei leaned forward and placed a gentle kiss on Le Shi’s lips. Then she pulled away slightly and asked in a low voice,
“Do you really want this?”
“Xie Yuanwei—”
The moment Le Shi spoke, her body arched from the sudden intensity. She closed her eyes, as if floating on the surface of the sea, lips parting instinctively. Xie Yuanwei pressed her harder against the wall, leaving no space for hesitation. Even the softest whimpers were silenced under her warning.
The alpha loosened her grip a little. She stared at Le Shi without blinking. The omega’s gaze was dazed, the scent of ripe peach etched deeply into Xie Yuanwei’s senses.
Le Shi tried to pull her hands free. In a breathy whisper, she said,
“Let go.”
Xie Yuanwei was breathing heavily, but she obeyed and released her hold. In the next second, she was pulled down by the arms around her neck and kissed again.
She realized then just how much the omega enjoyed those soft, delicate sounds. When Le Shi’s leg was lifted onto her arm, tears formed at the corners of her eyes. Her words came out in broken syllables, and the way she looked at her was impossibly gentle.
Xie Yuanwei suddenly understood. Le Shi was slowly letting her in, giving her permission, allowing her to take up space in her world, little by little.
Le Shi leaned toward her, whispering close to her ear, barely able to support herself. Xie Yuanwei held her steady.
She asked quietly,
“Xie Yuanwei, am I sensitive?”
It was nothing much.
I just wanted them to kiss.
(It was just kissing. Nothing else. Just kiss kiss kiss.)
