[It’s Over.]

“Yan Yu, I’m taking Xie Yuanwei home first. She’s had too much to drink.”

Le Shi narrowed her eyes and stared at Yan Yu, asking casually, “How much did she drink?”

Yan Yu was about to brush it off with a vague answer, but Le Shi didn’t give her the chance. She went straight for the point. “Miss Bai and I had quite an interesting conversation.”

Yan Yu fell silent.

You’re so righteous. Aren’t you impressive.

She cleared her throat, glanced to the side, and muttered, “Just a little.”

Le Shi followed her gaze and kept a polite smile on her face. “Alright. I’ll settle this with you later.”

Yan Yu’s face dropped. “Hey!”

But the omega completely ignored her. She turned around and helped the drunken Xie Yuanwei to her feet and walked away.

A drunk alpha was even clingier than one during nesting heat. By the time Le Shi got her into the back seat, she was already sweating. She leaned against the car door and looked down at Xie Yuanwei. They were very close, but she didn’t want to get too involved in their personal issues. She pulled out her phone to reply to some messages, but in just a short moment of distraction, Xie Yuanwei had already gotten even more drunk.

“Xie Yuanwei, I’m going to drive now.”

The alpha slowly sat up on the seat. Her cheeks were flushed, and she squinted up at Le Shi, eyes dazed. Her lips moved slightly, then she suddenly started crying.

“Aren’t you going to stay with me?”

Her voice was loud and echoed throughout the underground parking garage. Le Shi was completely caught off guard by her sudden crying. She took a deep breath and looked around nervously. At this hour, people were starting to come and go. And here Xie Yuanwei was, crying loudly like a lost child.

Le Shi frowned and said firmly, “Stop crying.”

But Xie Yuanwei became even more upset. She sobbed louder and cried out, “Are you yelling at me?”

Le Shi gave up trying to reason and went along with it. She gave a half-smile and said, “If you keep crying, I’ll throw you out of the car.”

The drunk alpha acted just like a child. Hearing that, she immediately quieted down and looked at Le Shi with big teary eyes, completely pitiful.

“You’re so mean.”

Xie Yuanwei muttered, then turned away to sulk.

Le Shi couldn’t help but laugh. She noticed that Xie Yuanwei wasn’t sitting properly, so she knelt on the seat and leaned over to support her by the shoulder. Because of the awkward position, her waist curved into an arch, and she had to shift one leg back for balance. She wanted Xie Yuanwei to turn around and look at her, but just as she placed her hand on the alpha’s shoulder, her wrist was grabbed.

Xie Yuanwei’s body was very warm. In her dazed state, she clutched Le Shi’s hand and rubbed it against her cheek. Then, without warning, she turned and hugged her tightly.

The force she used was so strong that Le Shi was pulled back, her entire body falling into the seat awkwardly. One leg was caught in an uncomfortable position.

“Let go of me.”

Le Shi tried to push Xie Yuanwei away, but the alpha had lost all sense of reason. She clung to her tightly, pressing her face into Le Shi’s neck. In her haze, she noticed Le Shi’s leg was caught and reached out to pull it closer.

Le Shi froze in shock. She had not expected this at all. She tried to move her leg again, but Xie Yuanwei held on even tighter, almost like she was doing it on purpose.

Xie Yuanwei’s body was too warm. Her damp hands pressed against Le Shi’s skin. As they clung together, Le Shi’s ears turned bright red. She tilted her head back, breathing heavily. It felt like everything around her was burning, as if she was about to be consumed by Xie Yuanwei completely.

They were still struggling when someone outside secretly took a photo. Neither of them noticed that the car door wasn’t fully closed.

“Enough. Let go of me.”

Le Shi’s hair was slightly messy. She gave a helpless smile, not angry at all. She reached out, ruffled Xie Yuanwei’s hair gently, and spoke softly.

“Let’s go home.”

Xie Yuanwei was breathing heavily. When she heard those words, she slowly lifted her head. Her eyes were still watery, and her voice trembled.

“Really?”

“Are we going home?”

Le Shi brushed her hair back and tucked it behind her ear.

“Yes. We’re going home.”

Whether or not the words really comforted her, the alpha obediently sat up and moved aside, giving Le Shi space to drive.

Le Shi finally let out a sigh of relief. She got out of the car and walked to the driver’s seat without saying another word.

After all the fuss, they didn’t get home until nearly one in the morning. Xie Yuanwei had already fallen into a deep sleep. Le Shi struggled to get her inside, wiped her down, then went to wash up herself. It was almost two by the time she finally got to bed.

Under the dimming moonlight, the two of them fell asleep side by side.

But neither of them knew that by the time they woke up, everything had changed.

This time, Le Shi woke up earlier than Xie Yuanwei.

Her phone had died overnight because she forgot to charge it. The moment she turned it back on, she saw a flood of missed calls. Her heart tightened. Something had clearly happened.

As soon as she dialed a number back, someone picked up. Her assistant’s voice was anxious.

“President Le, someone took secret photos of you and Xie Yuanwei. They’ve been sent to media accounts and are already trending at the top of the headlines.”

Le Shi quickly recalled what photos it might be. She stayed calm and said, “I’ll head to the office right away.”

She ended the call and opened the news app. The photo showed her and Xie Yuanwei in the underground garage. From the angle, it looked very much like they were…

Le Shi exhaled slowly and skimmed through the comments. Most were mocking or criticizing them for being indecent. Someone was clearly trying to stir public opinion.

She stood up and thought for a moment, then calmly went to the bathroom to freshen up. After changing clothes, she was just about to go downstairs when Xie Yuanwei woke up.

The alpha, unaware of what had happened, rubbed her eyes and greeted her.

“Morning. Why are you up so early?”

“What time is it? Am I going to be late for work?”

Le Shi glanced at her and replied calmly, “You don’t need to go to the company today.”

Xie Yuanwei was getting out of bed. She froze at those words and looked confused.

“Why? I’m already feeling better.”

“You probably don’t remember. You fell on me when we got in the car, and we were photographed.” Le Shi opened the door. “I’m heading to the office to deal with it.”

“What photo?”

Just as Xie Yuanwei picked up her phone, she heard the door close. She called out, but there was no reply. Left alone, the alpha quickly opened her messages. Yan Yu had already called her several times and sent a bunch of messages.

As soon as she opened them and saw the photo, her entire body went stiff.

Xie Yuanwei immediately realized what had happened. Her breathing became shaky.

Yan Yu told her that the photo had gone public and attracted a lot of attention. Although Le Corporation responded quickly, it was hard to stop the damage. Some people were clearly using this moment to throw shade. And the relationship between the two of them wasn’t exactly clear either.

Le Shi was already someone the public kept an eye on. Every year, she would appear on omega rankings and media charts. But Xie Yuanwei was different. She had been involved in too many past rumors. To see someone who seemed untouchable suddenly caught up in scandal led to people questioning her character and values.

“I…” Xie Yuanwei couldn’t even get the words out. She heard the car start downstairs. She wanted to chase after Le Shi but felt too weak to move.

She tried calling Yan Yu. Sitting on the floor with her back against the bed, she sounded discouraged.

“What am I supposed to do now? Are there any security cameras?”

Yan Yu replied, “There are, but we have to wait and see how Le Shi decides to handle it. Honestly, this is my fault for not managing things better. Who could have known someone would go that far?”

Xie Yuanwei hugged her knees and rested her head on them. She asked helplessly, “Will this affect Le Shi?”

“It’s hard to say right now, but it might affect her a little.”

Xie Yuanwei closed her eyes and whispered, “I don’t remember anything. I drank too much. I swear I’m never drinking again.”

“This morning, Le Shi told me to stay home. I really don’t know what else to do.”

Yan Yu tried to comfort her. “Don’t worry. She’ll handle it.”

“I have a meeting. I’ll talk to you later.”

After ending the call, Xie Yuanwei rubbed her face.

She actually wanted to tell Le Shi that Yan Yu had offered to get to know her better, to start over as friends.

But she didn’t know how to say it.

She had been so excited at the idea of making a new friend that she ended up drinking too much.

And now everything had spiraled into chaos.

Xie Yuanwei licked her lips and tried calling Le Shi.

The call didn’t go through. Her phone showed that Le Shi was still on another call.

Fine then. She would just stay home like she was told.

The alpha buried her face in her arms and didn’t lift her head for a long time.
