The Scumbag Alpha's Plan to Save the Female Lead - Chapter 4
Chapter 4
The changing room was a mess, with the clear scent of cedar and the sourness of apple intertwined, lingering inextricably.
Zhi Qiu was half-kneeling on one injured leg, the other propped between Ruan Ye’s skirted legs. A bloody, glaring scar looked particularly hideous on her pale, frail skin. With her injured right arm, she somewhat roughly snatched the key—the weapon—from Ruan Ye’s hand. The discarded key clashed against the marble floor, making a crisp impact sound.
In her past life, Zhi Qiu always noticed scars, shallow or deep, on Ruan Ye during intimacy. Some were old, faded marks, and others were freshly scabbed wounds. At the time, she thought they were all from beatings and verbal abuse by Ruan Ye’s foster parents. Now, it seemed many were likely self-inflicted by Ruan Ye.
After regaining her composure, Zhi Qiu’s thoughts were clear. However, because of her injury and the cast on her leg, she couldn’t move. To avoid crushing Ruan Ye, she had to keep supporting herself on her arms on the marble floor. Ruan Ye lay supine on the ground, seeing nothing but the ceiling and Zhi Qiu’s delicate, refined face, still beautiful despite her illness.
The young, fiery Alpha was controlling her surging pheromones, fighting relentlessly against her physiological instincts. Ruan Ye, who had just been injected with an Omega inhibitor by the hastily arrived Ren Yi, watched her savior’s face contort in pain, uncontrollably filling with tears.
The situation was too complex. Ren Yi decided to leave the two locked up together and make other plans after finding an Alpha-specific inhibitor. Ruan Ye was still limp and couldn’t contribute positively to solving the situation. After weighing his options, Ren Yi decided to take Ruan Ye to a safe place first.
Ruan Ye was dazed, allowing Ren Yi to place her in the wheelchair and push her away.
In her blank state, she faintly heard a soft murmur coming from the direction where she had just been lying.
The sentence was: “Don’t cry.”
Ruan Ye suddenly snapped back to consciousness. She realized this wasn’t a dream she had fabricated to deceive herself. Her body, seated in the wheelchair, anxiously turned halfway. Her hands struggled in the air, trying to grab something, but she only caught a fleeting glimpse of Zhi Qiu’s pained profile disappearing through the crack in the door.
Ren Yi closed the changing room door.
Pushing Ruan Ye in Zhi Qiu’s wheelchair, he hesitantly navigated the empty corridor.
Norrington accumulated countless sponsorships yearly due to its concentration of children from local major families. A large portion went into the principal’s pocket, and another portion was legitimately used for school construction. Ren Yi was currently very grateful to these rich people, as their massive school had many unknown shortcuts, allowing him to send Ruan Ye to a safe place away from prying eyes.
Although Ren Yi knew the school’s layout like the back of his hand, he still hesitated on the way to move Ruan Ye.
Logically, he was not Ruan Ye’s class teacher. According to school rules, he should hand Ruan Ye over to her head teacher, Qian Yan, who would be responsible for her safety. But emotionally, he didn’t feel Ruan Ye would be safer with Qian Yan, a Beta. Qian Yan was implicated with the Fu family, and Ruan Ye’s injury was caused by the Fu family heir.
Therefore, Ren Yi finally transferred Ruan Ye to his temporary office.
After entering the office, he locked the door, planning to settle Ruan Ye before going to look for the inhibitor.
Just as he thought he could breathe a sigh of relief, a knock suddenly sounded on the door.
Assistant Wang, who was there to deliver lesson plans, held the doorknob and asked, confused, “What’s wrong? It’s usually open, but it’s class time now. Teacher Ren Yi, are you inside?”
Ren Yi internally cursed, I’m done for.
It had to be at this exact moment that someone came to deliver lesson plans.
If he was discovered by others in the school, an Alpha alone with his Omega student behind a locked door, he wasn’t a school employee, but Ruan Ye was a student here, and she would likely be gossiped about for a long time.
Ren Yi was still contemplating a countermeasure when a familiar voice suddenly spoke from outside the door.
Someone was chatting with Assistant Wang outside.
Seeing the person who had arrived, Assistant Wang gave a nervous, fawning greeting: “Miss Yuan, I’m here to deliver the lesson plans to Teacher Ren Yi. I should have delivered them before class, but I was delayed on the way. It’s not even over yet; who knows why Teacher Ren locked the door.”
“Just give the lesson plans to me. I was waiting for him to return anyway; I have some prospectus questions I wanted to ask him. Hurry up and go; don’t stand here blocking my view.”
Upon hearing this, Assistant Wang immediately handed the lesson plans to the ill-tempered Miss Yuan, who might flare up at any time.
If it were anyone else, he might hesitate, as the principal had instructed him to deliver them directly to the desk. But this was an unreasonable member of the Yuan family. He didn’t want to offend this young lady over the principal’s single instruction; he had climbed to his current position through hard work and knew how terrifying the power of capital could be.
It wasn’t until Assistant Wang was downstairs that Yuan Menglu knocked on Ren Yi’s office door again.
This time, the door opened quickly. The refined Alpha smiled brightly, his gold-rimmed glasses gleaming in the sunlight. On the other side, Ruan Ye, seated in the wheelchair, was shrouded in the shadow of a cabinet, appearing gloomy and melancholic. Had Yuan Menglu not intervened, Ren Yi had originally planned to hide Ruan Ye in the cabinet.
“Little Lu, still as clever as when you were a child.” Ren Yi’s smile was genuine.
Yuan Menglu, having grown up in the prominent Yuan family in City A, had heard countless sycophantic words since childhood, yet the compliment still made her blush. She awkwardly avoided the teacher’s gaze and pulled an inhibitor—a dose sufficient for five adult Alphas—from her pocket.
She had used her privilege to secretly procure it from the student council’s supply room.
Ren Yi only assumed the young girl was embarrassed by the praise. He accepted the inhibitor without hesitation and instructed, “Zhi Qiu is still waiting for me. I can’t delay too long. Little Lu, could I trouble you to look after Ruan Ye here? She was shocked and injected with a large amount of inhibitor in a short time, so she is very weak right now.”
Although Ren Yi’s wording was tactful, his tone was firm and brooks no argument, leaving no room for discussion. Before Yuan Menglu could even agree, he dashed out of the office with the inhibitor in hand.
Now, only Ruan Ye and Yuan Menglu remained in the office. Gone was the imposing demeanor Yuan Menglu had exhibited outside the door. Her eyes darkened until Ruan Ye’s wheelchair was pushed out from the cabinet’s shadow and gently bumped her.
Yuan Menglu frowned. She didn’t want to cause more trouble and just slightly moved aside to avoid the bump. But Ruan Ye suddenly spoke, her voice hoarse: “Can we talk?”
Inside the changing room, Zhi Qiu and Fu Jinyan were locked together.
Zhi Qiu had somehow gotten up from the floor. She sat on the chair—convenient for students changing clothes—gasping for breath, holding her chest. Like a queen, she looked down at Fu Jinyan, who was kneeling on the floor, convulsing in pain from the pheromones.
She was grateful for the first time that this was an ABO world, where Alphas had a hierarchy of dominance. Otherwise, judging by physique alone, the one being pinned to the floor right now might have been her.
As her control eased slightly, the cedar-scented pheromones in the air became gentler. Fu Jinyan also managed to catch a breath from his suffering. He pointed at the high-seated Zhi Qiu, about to speak.
Zhi Qiu raised an eyebrow. The originally fresh and non-irritating cedar scent in the air suddenly became violent, turning sour and dense, roaring as if to corrode all objects in the space.
Fu Jinyan’s mind was greatly assaulted. He rolled around on the coarse changing room floor, covering his head. Zhi Qiu finally found a moment to direct her sharp gaze toward the person who had been standing there watching the commotion from the start.
This person claimed to be her System.
The Truth System sighed internally that its timing was poor.
The System, which had been in human form moments ago, suddenly transformed into a talking fan, dutifully fanning Zhi Qiu.
Holding the materialized folding fan, Zhi Qiu’s mood was complicated. In her previous life, she had wished for a system to help her go home, but now that the system had appeared, she found it to be a burden.
She had decided to stay in this world for Ruan Ye; the System would only be an obstacle. At this thought, her hand gripping the fan tightened, and the fan stopped waving.
The Truth System transformed back into a person, crouching in front of the stool to meet Zhi Qiu’s gaze.
Fu Jinyan was severely ringing in his ears at this moment, completely oblivious to the changes in the outside world, unaware that Zhi Qiu was staring at a patch of air in the center of the changing room like a madwoman.
After a long time, Zhi Qiu asked a question entirely unrelated to the current situation: “Why can’t I touch your physical body when you’re in human form, but I can touch you when you transform into a fan?”
The Truth System confessed: “I didn’t help when I appeared just now, not because I didn’t want to, but because I couldn’t. My human form cannot touch anyone. I come from another world and was a program designed for you by a lady but ultimately unused. I have no physical body inherently, but I exist because of you, so I temporarily gain a physical form when I transform into something related to you. The fan I just became is the one you casually bought when you were seven to help the old street vendor go home early. I am a part of your body; I know everything you think.”
The words were sincere, but Zhi Qiu only found it strange. However, the hastily arrived Ren Yi had already opened the door with a key, forcing Zhi Qiu to temporarily set aside her confusion.
Ren Yi was panting heavily. Upon entering, he saw Fu Jinyan, frothing at the mouth, lying on his stomach like a dead dog.
He quickly flipped the person over with his foot so Fu Jinyan was facing the ceiling.
As for why he used his foot, it was because Ren Yi couldn’t spare his hands. He pressed his right hand onto Fu Jinyan’s back neck and used his left hand to push the inhibitor in. Although he was an Alpha, this type of inhibitor was new to Ren Yi. By the time he reacted, he had pushed in a dosage equivalent to what three adult Alphas would need during their susceptible period.
The hanging metal chains clinked crisply against each other. Ren Yi pushed up his glasses in annoyance and smiled brightly at Zhi Qiu, who was giving him a cold look: “Student Zhi, what do we do about this? With this dosage, Student Fu probably won’t be able to get it up for a month.”
