The Scumbag Alpha's Plan to Save the Female Lead - Chapter 23
Chapter 23
“No, there’s no need!”
The petite Omega abruptly snatched her pink backpack and retreated several steps, as if she had seen a monster.
Fu Jinyan nodded and didn’t insist. He had more important things to do today, so after apologizing, he didn’t linger and strode toward the principal’s office.
It wasn’t until the fierce-looking, wounded Alpha had walked far away that the Omegas who had been walking with Meng Yuan dared to approach.
One of the male Omegas insincerely held the girl’s delicate, soft hand and asked in a delicate voice, “Yuan Yuan, are you okay? We just gossiped about Fu Jinyan being reprimanded. What bad luck that we suddenly ran into him. By the way, what did he just say to you? He shouldn’t hold a grudge against us, right?”
Meng Yuan had the best family background among these Omegas, so she usually took care of these close friends at North-Anderson.
But adversity reveals true friendship. Now, after encountering just a minor incident, she was abandoned by these people.
Meng Yuan was small and charming, and she usually preferred to wear delicate colors, giving the impression of being soft and easily bullied. However, having grown up in an elite family, she could easily see through the repulsive faces of these people.
Under the blazing sun, the Omega, wearing a white skirt and a school uniform jacket, took advantage of the situation and grabbed the male student’s hand. She feigned a look of panic and stammered nervously, “Nuonuo, what should we do? Fu Jinyan said he has memorized each of our faces. After he resolves this matter, he’ll deal with all of us who gloated and laughed at him, one by one, and make sure none of us get our diplomas!”
Hearing this, the male Omega called Nuonuo panicked. He quickly pulled away from the girl’s grip and immediately drew a clear line between them: “It was clearly you who attended the Fu family banquet and came back to tell us those gossips about Fu Jinyan! If he wants revenge, he should only retaliate against you. We were just echoing you when we discussed him behind his back!”
“Is that so?” Meng Yuan smiled. She smoothed her fringe, which was slightly messy from the wind, and looked at the others who had been gossiping with her. She softly asked, “Do you all think so too?”
Actions often speak louder than words. Several Omegas, led by Chen Nuo, clustered together, making Meng Yuan seem even more redundant.
Meng Yuan had a sweet appearance. Even when she wore a cold expression, it gave the illusion of a sweet smile. She let out a sneer, turned her back, and quickly walked away, gaining a significant distance from the people behind her in no time.
In the small group, a timid Omega poked Chen Nuo, the most decisive one among them, and asked hesitantly, “Yuan… Meng Yuan has a good family background. Even if Fu Jinyan intentionally causes trouble for her, he probably can’t do much. But without her protection, what should we do?”
Chen Nuo blew on his freshly done manicure, seemingly dismissing the issue. He said confidently, “Let her go. If Fu Jinyan starts causing trouble, we’ll push all the blame onto her. There are so many of us, and if we stick together, hardly anyone at North-Anderson dares to bully us.”
Fu Jinyan took long strides and quickly reached the other side.
The principal’s office was located on the highest floor of North-Anderson. It was cleaned daily, but the principal was rarely seen. Today was not the day for the principal to inspect the school, yet Principal Lei Ke had received notification and had arrived at the office early to wait.
When the knock sounded, Lei Ke immediately stood up.
The person who entered was a North-Anderson student, properly wearing his school uniform. A closer look revealed that his exposed skin was covered in wounds, and there were unhealed bloodstains under his uniform. Lei Ke couldn’t bear to look elsewhere and uncomfortably shifted his gaze.
Fu Jinyan had always been respectful and humble towards elders, never overstepping, which made him popular among them. He humbly presented his application. Only after the principal sat down to read it did he also take a seat.
Lei Ke opened the three-page document, reading it line by line. The more he read, the more alarmed he became, shaking his head. He tried to persuade him: “Jinyan, are you really going to do this? The matter between you and Bai Zimo is just rumors with added exaggeration. If you handle it quietly for a while, people will forget. Why must you withdraw? You only need a few more credits to graduate. Withdrawing is truly a shame; your grades are so excellent!”
Hearing the principal’s praise, Fu Jinyan did not commit either way. He forced a smile, only responding: “This is my father’s decision.”
Last night.
The Fu family’s old residence was experiencing an extreme contrast.
The eldest son’s disgrace at the banquet ignited a fire in Director Fu’s heart, while the younger son’s foolish act of handing over the rod cooled the devoted father’s love for his son.
Whether Fu Jinyan was lucky or had superhuman physical strength, he was taken to the hospital bloody and bruised. The doctors were nervously checking him for a long time, only to find minor superficial injuries.
The whip strikes were precise; not a single one truly harmed a vital spot. The doctors merely disinfected, applied some medicine, and bandaged him, finding little else to do.
Within half an hour, the unconscious Fu Jinyan woke up. He hadn’t eaten all day, and the first thing he did when he opened his eyes was look for water. But as soon as he looked up, he stopped thinking about it. He struggled to sit up from the bed and respectfully called out, “Father.”
After all, he was the heir he had spent twenty years cultivating, and the son who had stayed with him the longest. Director Fu’s fatherly heart couldn’t help but soften. He rubbed his forehead, closed his eyes, and said gently, “Lie down.”
But before the man could obey, he asked sternly, “Do you know what your mistake was today?”
Fu Jinyan gritted his teeth and replied bitterly: “The mistake was not handling previous romantic relationships properly, the mistake was not anticipating that Zhi Qiu would resort to this trick to retaliate against me, and the mistake was not sending more people to guard and check the banquet equipment.”
“You are gravely mistaken!” Director Fu avoided the wound on his son’s forehead and sharply knocked him on the head, frustrated with his inflexibility. “Think again.”
The scarred man on the hospital bed frowned and began to meticulously recall the details of the evening.
The conversation in the inner chamber, the snatched wine glass, the meaningful words… a flash of inspiration struck Fu Jinyan. He suddenly realized something. Fu Jinxing’s gloating face while he was being beaten flashed in his mind, and the truth surfaced.
Constant vigilance against outsiders, yet betrayal comes from within.
It was so obvious. Fu Jinyan lowered his head in exasperation. He vigorously raised his arm, wanting to slap himself hard, but he was stopped by a pair of wrinkled hands. He looked up at his father.
The middle-aged Alpha had wrinkles around his eyes. His once tall figure was already stooping. Even when sitting in a chair, he needed to lean his back against the backrest to be comfortable.
The Fu family had always been a model of the saying, “Spare the rod, spoil the child.” At least, this was the kind of education Fu Jinyan had received since childhood. But this time, in the silence between father and son, he heard his father, who usually only cared about results and not the process, speak softly.
“Tell me about your dealings with Zhi Qiu and Bai Zimo.”
