The Scumbag Alpha's Plan to Save the Female Lead - Chapter 15
Chapter 15
Leichlin’s masterclass was indeed worthy of the school’s strong promotion; even Zhi Qiu, who had no concept of art, was enlightened and glimpsed some of the charm of design.
The rain had stopped. There was no rainbow after the rain, but the slight coolness in the air was just comfortable. The long-haired girl slowly pushed the wheelchair across North-Anderson’s green lawn.
Crickets chirped, and cicadas sang, boldly celebrating their brief lives.
At Moon-Chasing Lake, the water was clear to the bottom. Fish played and frolicked in the pristine water. Occasionally, gulls and egrets skimmed across the calm surface. They were unafraid of the pedestrians by the lake, dancing gracefully on the surface and leisurely foraging.
Ruan Ye pushed the wheelchair and sat by the Moon-Chasing Lake.
The tranquility of the lake, the freshness of the air, and the quietness of the pedestrians made one feel as if they had mistakenly entered a paradise, reluctant to break the silence.
Feeling a warm palm gently stroking the top of her head, the girl who was meditating opened her eyes. Ruan Ye looked up slightly, gazing at the peaceful, delicate profile of the hands’ owner.
Ruan Ye had been complimented on her beauty by many people and had seen countless beautiful individuals. Even so, she had to admit that the Alpha before her was truly stunning.
If an Omega possessed such looks, she might be protected by her family, cherished and pampered, and enjoy a happy life of being loved and restrained.
But fate played a joke by bestowing such delicate features upon an Alpha, making her beautiful but also leaving people with a confusing first impression of ambiguity between Alpha and Omega.
This was fatal to any family heir, let alone a century-old aristocratic family like the Zhis.
“What are you thinking about?” Zhi Qiu asked with a smile, looking down at the girl who kept staring at her.
Ruan Ye suppressed an inexplicable emotion and said in silence, “Nothing.”
Even so.
The girl’s tightly knitted brows on the lawn betrayed her obscure mood.
Zhi Qiu did not understand. She opened her mouth several times, wanting to say something, but swallowed the words back before they reached her lips.
She actually had many questions for Ruan Ye.
For example, what kind of person are you?
What exactly do you think about every day?
What did you go through in the past to become the way you are now?
If falling in love with someone meant constantly exploring that person’s past, then loving someone might be the hand that wants to touch but shrinks back.
The air was slightly cool, but Zhi Qiu felt hotter today than in the sweltering heat of midsummer.
The wheelchair began to fidget with its owner’s inner turmoil, like a person inadequately dressed in the cold greedily warming themselves by the hottest furnace.
The Truth System’s passive ability was triggered.
Zhi Qiu felt no moment she had ever wanted to express herself more than now.
Her injured leg was fixed in a cast, but at this moment, she ignored the pain transmitted through her nerves. She bent her knee and half-knelt on the ground, looking levelly at the girl who was afraid of being seen through, and slowly began to speak.
“The topic of utopia just now made me think a lot. I’m a person with no attachments, at least I’ve always thought so, but now I seem to have found the meaning of my presence here.”
Ruan Ye turned around, surprised to see Zhi Qiu half-kneeling on the ground with her injured leg.
Pity overcame the unexplained emotion. She tried to use both hands to help the girl back into the wheelchair but found her hands grasped in return.
They were a pair of strong, burning hands.
And the person looking at her seriously was the owner of these hands.
“I’ve never thought I had talent in any area. There are always people better than you, and I always believed there were stronger people in this world, but;”
“If you are a destined genius painter who will succeed, I hope I will also be the most outstanding talent in some field, at least succeeding a little earlier than you. The Zhi family’s influence can pave the way for you, but this will always subject you to being weighed by interests on a scale. If I grow into someone who can protect you, then before making any decision, I only need to consider whether you are happy. If one day this talent brings you pain, I will be your best retreat.”
Initially, Ruan Ye was bewildered and helpless.
An peeled onion has no core, but people have genuine hearts. No one dislikes solemn promises, even if they are rarely fulfilled; not even a genius is immune.
The dim grey eyes sparkled anew, dazzling like stars.
The person who is loved is always dazzling.
The lakeside of Moon-Chasing Lake at noon was a great time for viewing the scenery, but it was also North-Anderson’s dismissal time. Passersby rushed by, only taking a hasty glimpse at the graceful scenery before quickly departing.
The two people by the lake supported each other. Ruan Ye stood up and smiled, “You always manage to say surprising things. Clearly…”
Before she finished speaking, a stone was thrown into the lake.
The resulting ripples interrupted the ambiguous atmosphere between the two.
Zhi Qiu looked up and saw a male student wearing black-rimmed glasses and a school uniform standing there with an indifferent expression. His left hand held the English textbook, and his right hand still had the mud from picking up the stone.
Chu Yuan adjusted his glasses, handed over a richly decorated, exquisite invitation, and said, “Excuse me for the interruption.”
“Student Zhi, Director Zhi asked me to deliver this invitation to you.”
The Fu Family Banquet.
To celebrate the reunion of Director Fu with his long-lost son in his later years, this banquet was extremely lavish.
Under artificial control, the dense flowers in the garden competed to bloom. In the central fountain, koi swam in a pool lined with silver coins. Occasionally, passersby would take small bits of fish food from the servants by the pool and feed the fish, causing the koi to scramble for food.
The venue for the banquet was on the most expensive piece of land in the south of the city.
It was a place with excellent feng shui. Director Fu had sacrificed the profits of many businesses and spent a large sum of money to barely win it in the battle among the wealthy families.
For this, he was very proud. He constructed a villa residential area on this land using the highest standards of current technology, which was where the banquet was being held.
At the entrance of the villa, people held signs with names, waiting.
Luxury cars briefly stopped there one after another. The people who stepped out elegantly looked for their escorts at the entrance.
These people were either wearing suits, dressed flashily, or dressed casually, but all were children of wealthy families.
A group of people had already entered the inner chambers of the Fu family villa.
These early arrivals were mostly first-generation rich who had built their wealth from scratch and were not on the same level as the younger generation who arrived later. This group included Zhi Qiu’s father, Zhi Ze’en.
Several tall waiters, dressed in uniform professional attire, held trays of drinks with one hand, offering red wine to the man who was in his element in the social scene.
“Jinyan and Jinxing are both so young and outstanding. Director Fu is truly blessed, and the future of the Fu family is promising.” Zhi Ze’en laughed heartily, raising his stemmed glass and drinking the red wine in the cup in one gulp.
The man he clinked glasses with was over fifty and kind-faced.
The Zhi family had been established for a hundred years with many branches, but the authority had always been controlled by Zhi Ze’en’s immediate family, yet they lacked a worthy successor.
The only Alpha in the family was incompetent, causing trouble at school all day, and even got into a car accident a few days ago while fighting over an Omega.
Zhi Ze’en drank his wine with pleasure.
Director Fu was well aware of the absurd things his son had done a few days ago. He took a small sip of wine, clearly weighing the pros and cons, and kindly advised, “Brother Zhi, there’s no need to blame yourself or feel sad. Our two families have cooperated for decades. A conflict between the younger generation is nothing. Jinyan was also wrong in the school incident. Besides, isn’t the child standing right here, safe and sound!”
The plump man waved his hand to the left, and a tall figure quickly appeared beside him. Director Fu draped his arm over his son’s shoulder and chuckled, “The Fu family relies on harmony to generate wealth to do business as we do today. Jinyan, say hello to your Uncle Zhi.”
Director Fu originally had two sons and four daughters, and now he had found another illegitimate son, who had recently come of age and differentiated into an Alpha.
The future heir of the Fu family would certainly be one of the Alphas. Now, with an added competitor, it made Fu Shangyue furious. Everyone inside and outside the family gave Fu Jinyan meaningful looks, implying he should show the competitor some trouble.
However, the bigger picture was paramount.
How could Fu Jinyan fulfill his stepmother’s wish and let others make fun of them?
Fu Jinyan was wearing a grey suit today with a carefully tied tie. His interactions with others were effortless and pleasing, portraying the image of a courteous family eldest son and good older brother. He bent down to clink glasses, cautiously holding his hand a few centimeters lower than the hand raised opposite him, and politely said.
“Uncle Zhi.”
