The Scumbag Alpha's Plan to Save the Female Lead - Chapter 13
Chapter 13
The rain poured down. The two girls walked one after the other, a visually pleasing sight that made the students rushing to class at North-Anderson School couldn’t help but glance at them.
The one holding the umbrella between the two seemed to be an Omega, wearing an old school uniform. Her dark ponytail was tied high, making her look youthful and vibrant. She was chattering nonstop to the person beside her, seemingly having endless things to say.
The girl beside her, who had just cut her hair, had her short hair not detracting from her elegance. Instead, it made her facial features look incredibly delicate, so delicate that it was difficult to immediately determine her gender.
The short-haired girl in the wheelchair turned around, holding the hand of the girl holding the umbrella for her. Her clear black eyes were filled with worry.
“Fu Jinyan has woken up. Both your student IDs are at North-Anderson, so you’re bound to cross paths. How do you plan to handle the matter of him coercing you in the locker room?”
Zhi Qiu actually had a plan in mind.
But Ruan Ye was usually kind, and Zhi Qiu was worried that Ruan Ye might give up pursuing justice for herself out of soft-heartedness.
If that happened, given Fu Jinyan’s character, he would never let it go. A moment of soft-hearted concession would only result in escalating humiliation.
What if she wasn’t around Ruan Ye then?
Zhi Qiu dared not imagine what Ruan Ye would suffer.
Zhi Qiu closed her eyes.
That red figure that withered in the ocean still made her heart ache.
Depression cannot be a sudden occurrence.
It is often the accumulation of various grievances that reaches a breaking point and explodes.
She was very afraid.
Afraid that the currently normal Ruan Ye would once again become extreme, using her own life as a bargaining chip.
In the rain, Zhi Qiu received the most intractable answer she had anticipated.
The girl holding the umbrella alone seemed to be trapped in a dilemma of thought. Her raven-black eyelashes drooped slightly, hiding the ambiguous emotion in her eyes. Her rosy lips opened and closed several times, wanting to speak, but finally, she said, “If he doesn’t do that again in the future, I… will let this matter go.”
Zhi Qiu shook her head, grasped the girl’s hand back, and spoke with frustration: “Do you think letting it go will make people like that grateful? Even if they receive sanctions and cry bitterly one day, it won’t be because they feel sorry for the victim, but because they pity themselves for being exposed.”
“Don’t worry about this. We are… friends. Isn’t it natural for a friend to help a friend?” Zhi Qiu was a little awkward. “I will make him apologize to you, and he will face legal sanctions from the Federation and disappear from your life forever.”
Perhaps it was because the rain was too loud that day, or the mist was too hazy.
Or perhaps it was because of the preconceived first impression.
In any case, Zhi Qiu failed to notice the fleeting ruthlessness in Ruan Ye’s eyes that day.
It wasn’t until many years later, when Zhi Qiu recalled the events, that she realized her actions had actually saved Fu Jinyan’s life.
The chapel at North-Anderson Academy was usually only opened when the school had major good news.
Today, it was opened unprecedentedly for a lecture to students of all grades, giving great respect to Ms. Leichlin, who had come to teach.
Most students studying at North-Anderson were from wealthy families, with similar backgrounds. Even the small number of specially admitted students blended into the sea of uniforms, making them hard to distinguish. After all, some well-bred wealthy families would require their children to strictly adhere to the school’s dress code, believing that privilege would only spoil them.
Since Zhi Qiu’s leg was inconvenient, Ruan Ye accompanied her to sit in the last row of the large lecture hall, an excellent position to slack off where a teacher could only see a dense crowd of heads.
The speaker was a master of the design world, but Ruan Ye, who majored in design, felt little excitement. Instead, Zhi Qiu, whose mind was focused on the booming stock market, was very excited about this.
Leichlin made her appearance.
Accompanied by thunderous applause, and from a distance of over ten meters, Zhi Qiu saw her face clearly for the first time in two lives.
The most striking features were, first, her bright blonde hair, and second, her sharp, eagle-like blue eyes, which seemed capable of seeing through a person’s gilded exterior to the tattered interior.
After the applause, time seemed to pause. The air was filled with different kinds of silence.
Some were silent with anticipation, others with fear, and still others with bored indifference.
Leichlin was an extremely cheerful person. Students who had attended her lectures abroad mostly described her as approachable and humorous.
In the silence, those sapphire-like eyes twinkled with a smile, but the moment she spoke, it was like a meteor striking a quiet lake, stirring up countless ripples.
“Today, this class will only keep thirty people. If anyone was forced to come, you may leave now. I guarantee on my honor that no one who leaves will receive a failing grade for this lecture.”
“What…?”
Such an unconventional statement immediately caused a stir among the students in the classroom. A few who were forced to attend glanced around hesitantly, their hips fidgeting on their chairs, their toes already pointing toward the door, clearly wanting to leave. However, after a moment, no one was willing to be the first bird to take the lead.
Finally, a male Beta stood up.
He had an ordinary appearance, wore black-rimmed glasses, and a clean school uniform. Aside from the original English physics and chemistry book in his hand, he had no other memorable feature.
Chu Yuan politely nodded to the famous design master on the podium. After stating his student ID, he got up and left the classroom.
With a leader, some incompetent Alphas followed suit, giving the teacher a stiff nod, stating their student IDs, and quickly slipping away.
Omegas were inherently timid, so even with a leader, few were willing to make a scene in public. They all obediently sat with their close friends, waiting patiently.
The lecture hall, which could hold over three thousand people, saw at least half the students leave. The coming and going of footsteps woke up Yuan Menglu, who had stayed up late last night and was sleeping in the corner.
It was a rainy day, and the Omega in a leopard-print short top and mini-skirt stood out among the sea of long sleeves and trousers. Even Zhi Qiu and Ruan Ye, sitting in the back row, couldn’t ignore her.
Ren Yi, sitting directly behind her, was looking down at his lesson plan. Ten minutes had passed, and the book was still on the first page.
The Omega in the front row raised her hand and rubbed her sleepy eyes. Suddenly, she stood up and walked to the podium.
Ren Yi, who had been looking down the whole time, reflexively raised his head, his gaze following the somewhat lazy figure.
Yuan Menglu imitated the person before her, stating her student ID, and lazily added, “Is class over? This class went by so fast. Teacher, you’re really amazing…”
If anyone else had heard this, they could likely immediately concoct a major verbal offense. Ren Yi, who was wearing a black suit and a tie, was startled enough to stand up as well.
Seeing the figure on the podium about to continue speaking, he quickly rushed over to interrupt their conversation.
As an Alpha, he introduced himself first, then courteously took her hand and lightly kissed it—a gesture of respect in Leichlin’s country.
Ren Yi gently nudged the bewildered girl toward the door, turning sideways to block Leichlin’s view, and urged, “Ms. Leichlin, the students have been waiting for a long time.”
“You’ve been thoughtful,” Leichlin said.
The blue, eagle-like eyes stared at Ren Yi’s flawless smile, knowing anything she said next would be like punching cotton.
Most of the students in the lecture hall had left.
The graceful, luxuriously dressed mature Omega didn’t seem to mind the recent farce.
She clapped her hands, and the teaching assistants immediately began to move.
An assistant stood at the back of the steps, distributing examination papers from back to front.
Therefore, Zhi Qiu and Ruan Ye were among the first to receive the papers.
“What is this?”
Zhi Qiu opened the envelope and found only a blank piece of paper. She frowned and asked the girl beside her.
The person being asked held a pencil, deep in thought, and pointed to the corner of the test paper as a hint.
Zhi Qiu then noticed the six black dots of varying sizes randomly distributed around the blank paper.
There were a total of six teaching assistants in the lecture hall, three on the left and three on the right, standing at the front, middle, and back. After distributing the papers, the assistants stood still in place.
An iron plate suddenly rose, separating Zhi Qiu and Ruan Ye’s seats.
A timid Omega screamed, startled by the sound of the rising metal.
Iron plates continued to rise, one after another, separating the small groups of friends.
The Omega, who had just been smiling and gently instructing the departing students to watch their steps, now dropped her smile.
Her sea-blue eyes strictly scrutinized everyone as she announced the test question that would determine who could stay: “One hour, no limit on subject matter, no restriction on tools. Combine the content of the paper and draw the utopia in your heart.”
