The Romance Extras Turned Out to Be a Yuri Story - Chapter 3
“Luoluo?”
Gu Beichen’s hand suddenly felt empty. He stood there blankly, watching Zhang Qiu supporting Lin Luoluo away. His eyes were full of surprise
Wasn’t Lin Luoluo on bad terms with Zhang Qiu? Since when did the two of them become so close?
The secretary-general, who had seen everything from the side, stood up and scolded Gu Beichen with heartache:
“President, you got it wrong! She was the one who bumped into the vice president!”
“We don’t even know if the vice president is injured yet!”
The secretary-general muttered anxiously, “President, why are you acting on impulse again?”
“Do you really think the vice president is the kind of person who bullies others? Besides, there were so many people watching just now!”
“You’ve completely misunderstood the vice president!”
Gu Beichen stared dazedly at his own hand, then clenched his palm tightly.
That’s right—Zhang Qiu was exactly the kind of person who kept silent but got everything done. Because of her stubborn temper and strong-willed character, she never explained herself to anyone. So why had he jumped to conclusions?
Gu Beichen clutched his head in pain, feeling something within him beginning to change.
It seemed as if his trust in Zhang Qiu had started to fade.
It all seemed to trace back to when he brought Zhang Qiu home and announced they would marry. From then on, his mother had constantly talked about “a proper match between families.”
Unknowingly, he had started agreeing with those notions…
Mu Yunchun, having seen everything, gave Gu Beichen a mocking glance before heading toward the infirmary.
Behind the curtains of the school auditorium, Dongfang Qing had also witnessed the entire scene, while the drama club president was still thanking him.
“Thank you for accompanying us this time. With your help, our drama stage truly shines brighter.”
The pale, beautiful young man curved his lips faintly into a smile.
“It was Zhang Qiu who asked me to help. She said your drama club was short of people. If you want to thank someone, thank her.”
The drama club president was stunned for a moment, then shook his head with a smile.
“The best decision I ever made was inviting Zhang Qiu to act. Otherwise, our drama club wouldn’t be so popular now.”
Back then, the club had been on the verge of being disbanded due to lack of members. But after he invited Zhang Qiu to play the prince, the performance instantly became a sensation across the school, and recruitment filled up immediately.
The young man nodded. The second act was about to begin. He glanced outside with concern before sitting down at the piano.
Inside the infirmary, the school doctor was treating Lin Luoluo’s wound. From time to time, Lin Luoluo’s eyes would wander toward Zhang Qiu, who stood by the window.
She understood what it felt like to be misunderstood, so her chest felt heavy. Meanwhile, the system in her head was berating her.
【Host, are you a pig? That was the perfect setup for a quarrel scene!】
【If we want the male lead to repent for his mistakes, we need to create more misunderstandings!】
【You should’ve sided with the male lead just now! Why did you suddenly help the female lead?】
Lin Luoluo protested with grievance:
【But she looked so pitiful! Besides, she didn’t hurt me—it was me who accidentally bumped into her. She didn’t do anything wrong, so why should the male lead blame her!】
The more she spoke, the louder her voice grew, until she confidently snapped at the system:
【I just can’t stand the male lead falsely accusing her!】
【Then what about the mission? Do you still want the male and female leads to reconcile?】
Deflated, Lin Luoluo muttered softly, “But… it still shouldn’t be like this.”
“What are you saying?” The school doctor, busy treating her scraped knee, frowned. “Does the wound hurt that much?”
Otherwise, why would she be rambling nonsense? She must be half-delirious from the pain.
The doctor pressed a cotton swab soaked in alcohol onto Lin Luoluo’s scraped knee. She let out a shriek as the sting made her soul nearly leave her body.
“Bear with it. We’re out of iodine. If we don’t disinfect the wound, it won’t heal properly.”
Tears welled in Lin Luoluo’s eyes as she whimpered at the doctor, catching Zhang Qiu’s attention.
“I’ll do it,” Zhang Qiu said.
Watching the doctor’s rough hands, Zhang Qiu guessed he was used to treating the school team’s boys. But with Lin Luoluo’s tender skin, his heavy-handed approach was making her cry.
“You can take over. I’ll go prepare her medicine for the next few days.” The doctor handed the spot to Zhang Qiu.
Sniffling with a red nose and tear-streaked cheeks, Lin Luoluo whispered to herself, “Come on, Lin Luoluo, you can do it! It doesn’t hurt! If you believe it doesn’t hurt, then it won’t!”
The sight made Zhang Qiu laugh despite herself. Her lips curved upward, and the knot in her chest loosened a little.
Lin Luoluo clutched her leg carefully while Zhang Qiu blew gently over the wound as she applied the medicine.
The soft fragrance around her drifted into Lin Luoluo’s nose. Tilting her head back, she stared blankly at Zhang Qiu’s cold, beautiful face.
With her eyes lowered, Zhang Qiu’s delicate fingers held the cotton swab, brushing lightly over the injury. The cool air eased the sting of alcohol. Lin Luoluo unconsciously licked her dry lips, watching Zhang Qiu set down the swab and pick up gauze to wrap her wound neatly.
“You can’t get it wet these next few days. Wait until the scab forms,” the doctor reminded as he packed the medicine. “Can you apply the medicine yourself at home? If not, come back here every day.”
Lin Luoluo shook her head immediately.
Even if it killed her, she was not coming back to this doctor!
“I’ll take care of it,” Zhang Qiu offered.
“That’s good. With you around.”
The doctor handed over the supplies. He and Zhang Qiu seemed familiar with each other, even asking, “Did you find a place for your internship yet?”
Zhang Qiu nodded.
“What a pity. I wanted to recommend you to my senior; she happens to be short on interns. Where did you end up going?”
Zhang Qiu lowered her gaze, her face pale.
“Gu Corporation.”
“Gu Beichen’s family? Didn’t you say you wanted to intern at a law firm?”
Zhang Qiu forced a smile. “He arranged it.”
Lin Luoluo perked up, curious for gossip, but Zhang Qiu cut the topic short and turned to ask her:
“Can you get down by yourself?”
The treatment bed was fairly high. With Lin Luoluo’s height of 1.6 meters, her feet couldn’t reach the floor. If she jumped like usual, she might hurt herself.
Lin Luoluo shook her head. Zhang Qiu walked over and simply lifted her off the bed, gently setting her on the floor.
Just like when they had come in.
Glancing at Zhang Qiu’s slender arms, Lin Luoluo couldn’t figure it out—why did someone thinner than her have the strength to carry her?
Seeing her puzzlement, the doctor chuckled.
“Back in freshman year, Zhang Qiu worked part-time cleaning the tennis courts. The tennis club was short on players, so they roped her in. She even earned a national Level-2 athlete certificate. Don’t let her slim figure fool you—she’s got solid muscle. Try squeezing her arm if you don’t believe me.”
Since Zhang Qiu didn’t refuse, Lin Luoluo shyly pinched her arm—and indeed felt the hidden muscle beneath her sleeve.
She then squeezed her own arm with envy—just soft, pale flesh.
The doctor winked at her.
“Zhang Qiu even has abs. If you want to train, you can learn from her.”
Lin Luoluo’s admiration grew.
Truly, the type who looks slender in clothes, but muscular without.
Zhang Qiu said nothing more. Once their chatter subsided, she picked up the bag of medicine.
“Let’s go. I’ll walk you back.”
Lin Luoluo hobbled behind Zhang Qiu.
Her left leg only had a minor scrape, but her right leg was badly injured. Every step pulled painfully at the large wound.
Zhang Qiu walked far ahead before realizing Lin Luoluo was still struggling behind. Turning around, she saw the girl lagging more than ten meters, gritting her teeth as she tried to catch up. Her soft curls drooped lifelessly around her pale face.
Zhang Qiu waited a moment, then decisively walked back, crouched down in front of her, and said:
“Get on. I’ll carry you back.”
