One day, Tao Yitong, an agent from the Special Events Management Bureau, received a mission. Her colleagues obtained information that someone in the Jiang family of Haishi City was suspected of being involved in a “Cannibalistic Deviant Demon” case that the Bureau had been tracking for over 20 years. To find the mastermind, her superiors “packaged” her and tossed her into the home of her biological parents the Jiang family whom she had only recently discovered.

The atmosphere in the Jiang family was bizarre. When she first arrived, everyone seemed to harbor a strange sense of malice toward her. Coincidentally, Tao Yitong didn’t care for them either. For the sake of the mission, she had to suppress her explosive temper every day, constantly warning her hands not to accidentally “hang them all from lampposts” before the job was done.

A week later, the Fake Heiress returned. Tao Yitong hid her sharpness and disguised herself as a pitiful, unloved little “Cinderella.” However, she accidentally overacted. The Fake Heiress, Jiang Zitan, looked at her with increasing pity and affection. Not only did Zitan give her company shares and pocket money, but she also took full charge of Yitong’s food, clothing, housing, and transportation.

Almost raised into a “Lazy Fish” (slacker), Tao Yitong was suddenly jolted awake by the resentful reminders of her colleagues: “Jiang Zitan has silently disintegrated our will to fight! This is terrifying!”

Even more terrifying were the random people who kept telling her that Jiang Zitan would eventually leave and couldn’t protect her forever. Tao Yitong didn’t need protection, but every time she thought about the first half of that sentence that Zitan would leave she tossed and turned, unable to sleep.

Until one day, a strange book fell out of a melodramatic “Real vs. Fake Heiress” novel her colleague had given her. Flipping to the end of the story, it read: The Real and Fake Heiresses lived happily ever after…

Tao Yitong (Shocked face.jpg): “A masterpiece! This has great practical value!”

Jiang Zitan accidentally discovered her true origin. She wasn’t her parents’ biological daughter; the real heiress had been lost for over 20 years and suffered greatly.

The Real Heiress (Yitong) was very well-behaved and sensible, but the atmosphere at home grew weirder by the day. Her parents were extremely cold toward their biological daughter and, for unknown reasons, viewed her with utter loathing.

In such an oppressive environment, anyone would eventually develop psychological issues. Jiang Zitan decided to move Yitong into her own place. She intended to return everything belonging to the Jiang family to the Real Heiress, but she didn’t expect this “pitiful” girl to be so clingy and good at acting spoiled. Zitan found herself constantly compromising.

The Real Heiress was so cute; Zitan felt that raising her as a sister for the rest of her life wouldn’t be a bad thing.

However, she didn’t realize that in the darkness, she had become a “prized delicacy.” Those who coveted her flesh set up a trap (Hongmen Banquet) to show her the “other side” of this world: ghosts and deviant demons feasting in the night, while she was to be the fodder for the monsters they raised.

Just as she was cornered with no way out, her “little sister,” who shouldn’t have been there, suddenly appeared behind her and covered her eyes. Zitan heard the sound of ghosts being torn apart and the sound of something chewing near her ear.

Her friends screamed, calling out, “Monster!” They said monsters eat people.

Fangs that did not belong to a human grazed her delicate neck. Jiang Zitan did not take a defensive stance; instead, she embraced the “monster” with total trust.

Jiang Zitan believed Tao Yitong would never hurt her. If Tongtong needed flesh and blood, then she would be the one to provide for her.
