The Pursuit of Love After Divorcing My Cold Omega - Chapter 32
Yu Kunian had already lowered her head to kiss her.
Song Wenzhi froze, looking at Yu Kunian without making a move.
The Alpha was waiting for her answer; her warm fingertips brushed against the Omega’s cheek, rubbing against a soft earlobe. Her eyes were filled with a smile, and the atmosphere was ambiguous to the extreme.
This request had slipped out of Yu Kunian’s mouth in the heat of the moment. Her stray hairs fell beside Song Wenzhi’s ear. Song Wenzhi’s fingertips curled into her palm, and her breathing hitched.
Song Wenzhi didn’t hide anymore. She stood still where she was, watching Yu Kunian slowly lower her head toward her. Amber eyes looked at her for a moment as if to confirm; sensing that she was not refusing, the Alpha’s hand resting on her waist suddenly tightened.
The Omega was completely gathered into Yu Kunian’s embrace. Caught off guard, she stepped closer toward the Alpha, her pant leg brushing against Yu Kunian’s calf. Yu Kunian lowered her gaze and held her steady again.
Realizing she hadn’t taken off her mask yet, Song Wenzhi wanted to remove it and started to say, “Wait—”
Before the words could fully leave her mouth, Yu Kunian had already lowered her head and kissed her.
Time stood still at that moment. Song Wenzhi’s eyes remained open; she clearly saw the Alpha’s closed eyes, and a slightly cool nose tip accidentally brushed against the corner of her own eye.
Through the mask, Yu Kunian kissed her lips.
The Omega’s eyes widened slightly, her hand frozen in mid-air. The Alpha was kissing her very seriously—formally, sincerely, and deeply.
Song Wenzhi tilted her head back, regained her senses, and gently responded to her.
She could almost count Yu Kunian’s eyelashes. Song Wenzhi’s breathing paused at this instant; she hadn’t expected a kiss like this, but the current sensation caused her heart to race just as wildly. The tactile sensation felt as if there were no barrier at all, and the warmth from Yu Kunian’s lips was passed to her.
The kiss did not last long. Yu Kunian soon released Song Wenzhi. Meeting the confusion in Song Wenzhi’s eyes, she explained, “We agreed, I can’t infect you.”
Song Wenzhi’s cheeks were burning. She looked away, the lingering sensation still on her lips. Pheromones naturally diffused throughout the kitchen, but this time it wasn’t a loss of control. She felt Yu Kunian’s laughter vibrating slightly in her chest—pleasant to the ear, and stirring an uncontrollable restlessness in her heart.
So, Song Wenzhi gave Yu Kunian a light push, deliberately stepped back half a pace, and said, “You… go outside and wait.”
Yu Kunian chuckled. “I’ll listen to Zhizhi.” Her gaze fell on the Omega’s bright red ears; the Alpha raised an eyebrow, her eyes curving even more.
Song Wenzhi took a few deep breaths to calm herself down before turning around to start stir-frying. Meanwhile, Yu Kunian went back to sit on the sofa, watching Song Wenzhi while answering a voice call from her assistant to handle some work.
Song Wenzhi made a few ordinary home-cooked dishes. she didn’t cook too much, otherwise the two of them wouldn’t be able to finish, and Song Wenzhi was also afraid Yu Kunian wouldn’t like them. Yu Kunian helped serve the rice. After Song Wenzhi came out with the chopsticks, she reached out again to check the temperature of Yu Kunian’s forehead.
Finally, it wasn’t as hot as it had been just now. Song Wenzhi breathed a sigh of relief; if the fever didn’t go down, she would have to immediately drag Yu Kunian to the hospital.
Yu Kunian wasn’t feeling as miserable anymore. Whether it was due to the medicine or the coconut candy was unclear, but sitting there now after that kiss with Song Wenzhi, she felt everything was fine.
Her mood was currently quite good, and her troubles were tossed to the back of her mind.
The whole world had become beautiful.
It was all thanks to Song Wenzhi.
Pulling out a chair to sit down, Song Wenzhi decisively removed her mask. Sitting across from Yu Kunian and facing the Alpha’s questioning gaze, she said unhurriedly, “It’s just a meal, it shouldn’t be that easy to get infected.” Unless their kiss just now had been without any obstruction.
Yu Kunian curled her lips. She naturally didn’t want to eat separately from Song Wenzhi, but to be safe, she still went to get another pair of chopsticks to use as serving chopsticks.
Yu Kunian couldn’t wait to pick up some food and taste it. Although Song Wenzhi didn’t ask, she still glanced at Yu Kunian, trying to get feedback from the Alpha’s reaction.
“The food Zhizhi makes is especially delicious.” Yu Kunian’s eyes were bright. She didn’t seem to be offering polite flattery; on the contrary, her praise was extremely sincere.
Song Wenzhi was a bit skeptical about the truth of these words. She was used to her own cooking, but she had never felt it reached the level of being “especially delicious.” For the habitually pampered Yu Kunian to have such a high evaluation of her cooking, the Omega couldn’t help but say, “You’re exaggerating.”
Yu Kunian picked up more food and ate. She swallowed with a beaming smile and added, “I’m not exaggerating, I really think it’s delicious. I want to learn how to cook too, and strive to reach this level so I can let Zhizhi taste my skills as well.”
Yu Kunian had never cooked before. Watching Song Wenzhi’s familiarity in the kitchen just now, she suddenly wanted to be like this today—to have the chance in the future to cook many meals for Song Wenzhi.
Song Wenzhi also ate some food. It tasted no different from usual—just a very ordinary taste—but the Alpha ate with great satisfaction and happiness.
“It’s not hard,” Song Wenzhi said. In fact, there was no need to specifically learn; one would get it after cooking a few times.
Yu Kunian said, “Zhizhi is very capable, she knows how to do so many things. I want to learn from Zhizhi.” After saying this, the Alpha laughed. She looked at Song Wenzhi, still appearing sincere.
Perhaps not expecting Yu Kunian to say such a thing, Song Wenzhi’s fingertips paused slightly. Her eyes slowly lifted to meet Yu Kunian’s, and the Alpha’s smile was etched into her heart. Though she considered herself ordinary, she was so different in Yu Kunian’s eyes; even small things were different to Yu Kunian because of her.
Song Wenzhi had said that day that she wasn’t that good.
But Yu Kunian felt she was very good. Even just making a simple meal was good enough. A Song Wenzhi like this was already very good.
Song Wenzhi didn’t eat much of this meal; most of it was finished by Yu Kunian. Originally thinking Yu Kunian was just speaking casually, she didn’t expect the Alpha to actually finish all the food she made, which made Song Wenzhi believe that Yu Kunian really liked it.
There was a dishwasher at home that had been installed before, but Yu Kunian had never used it. While she was still studying how to use it, Song Wenzhi had already very quickly finished washing the dishes. Standing behind Yu Kunian, she said, “No need.”
Song Wenzhi put on a new mask. Before Yu Kunian could speak, she first raised her hand to check the Alpha’s forehead temperature again.
The Omega’s fingers still had the warm steam from washing the dishes. The moment her warm fingertips touched Yu Kunian, Song Wenzhi realized it, so she stiffened for an instant and prepared to withdraw her hand. However, Yu Kunian quickly grabbed her. The faint scent of dish soap lingered at the tip of her nose as the Alpha asked, “I feel like I’m still a bit hot. Is the fever coming back? Can you check for me?”
As she spoke, Yu Kunian pulled Song Wenzhi’s hand and pressed it against her forehead.
Song Wenzhi retracted her fingertips. A faint, helpless smile flickered in her eyes, and then, under the Alpha’s eager gaze, she said, “Lower your head.”
“Hmm?” Yu Kunian didn’t quite react, but her head had already lowered a step ahead of her thoughts.
Song Wenzhi stepped half a pace closer. She tilted her neck, and a moment later, their foreheads touched. This unexpected action left Yu Kunian frozen in place.
The Alpha’s gaze fell on the corner of Song Wenzhi’s eye. she leaned in, wanting to continue this action, but the Omega had already quickly retreated, even withdrawing her hand. Yu Kunian’s gaze followed Song Wenzhi as she heard the Omega say, “You don’t have a fever anymore.”
Yu Kunian didn’t speak. So, it was just using a forehead to measure temperature.
She had thought…
Song Wenzhi turned and walked out of the kitchen. While asking Yu Kunian if she felt uncomfortable anywhere else, she took out the medicine she had bought when she came over and opened the box for headache relief.
Yu Kunian also followed her out and sat on the sofa. “My throat hurts too.”
Song Wenzhi poured another glass of hot water and sat down beside her. “Wait a while before taking the medicine.”
Yu Kunian nodded. Taking advantage of the fact that there was nothing to do now, she took Song Wenzhi on a tour of her home. The Alpha usually spent more time at the company, so the house hadn’t been specially decorated. Even now, only furniture had been added, and some places were still empty and monotonous. If not for the signs of habitation, it would have looked no different from a new home.
Song Wenzhi had seen it when she was cooking; after all, the kitchen had hardly been used, even the seasonings were newly opened, and there wasn’t much in the refrigerator.
Only the balcony had a lounge chair, adding a bit of the atmosphere of daily life.
Standing on the balcony and looking out, Song Wenzhi’s first reaction was that this place was very suitable for a few pots of flowers, but when she regained her senses, she was startled by this thought.
She wanted to take care of this home together with Yu Kunian.
The Omega quickly brushed all those thoughts away and returned to the living room. Yu Kunian didn’t notice and only asked if Song Wenzhi needed a nap; since the Omega arrived at her place, she had been busy the whole time.
Song Wenzhi said, “No need.”
Yu Kunian took her hand and said softly, “Then lie down with me for a while, okay?”
“Right here?” Song Wenzhi looked at the sofa and asked. She obviously couldn’t go to Yu Kunian’s bedroom, but this sofa didn’t seem spacious enough to accommodate two people lying flat.
Yu Kunian nodded. Before Song Wenzhi could say anything else, she pulled slightly, letting the Omega fall into her arms. Song Wenzhi was stunned for a moment, and the next second she was pulled in by the Alpha. They turned on their sides to face each other, and Yu Kunian intimately rested her chin on Song Wenzhi’s shoulder.
They were very close. Song Wenzhi even lightened her breathing. She looked down at Yu Kunian; the Alpha naturally hugged her waist, trying to make her lie comfortably on her side, and then pressed close to her.
“Yu Kunian,” Song Wenzhi spoke after a moment of silence.
Yu Kunian responded, “Do you feel uncomfortable?”
Song Wenzhi asked, “Do you still need pheromone comfort?”
Yu Kunian said, “I don’t need it anymore,” and then she tilted her head up. Under Song Wenzhi’s gaze, the corners of the Alpha’s lips curled into a smile, and then a kiss fell on the Omega’s collarbone.
It was through the shirt, yet it still felt as if it were scalding hot.
Yu Kunian said, “This is enough.”
