The People I've Been With Have All Become Obsessive [Quick Transmigration] - Chapter 30.2
Tong Jiahui’s expression shifted, as if she wanted to say something, but the words that reached her lips were impatiently changed: “Talk about what? Talk about whether I still hate you? Bai Song, do you even have a heart? How do you have the nerve to ask that question?”
“…” Bai Song silently repeated to herself a hundred times that she was scum, absolute scum, and deserved every bit of this berating before she could continue, “I’ve said it more than once, I was wrong back then.”
Tong Jiahui grew restless. She took off her coat and tossed it carelessly to the floor but showed no intention of responding.
Bai Song weighed her words carefully: “I was only 22 when I met you. I’d never been in a relationship before, and I was just at that stage of breaking free from my parents’ control, so…”
“So, you played with me?” Tong Jiahui sneered.
“I didn’t!” This was something she absolutely had to clarify.
“Didn’t?” Tong Jiahui let out a light laugh, though it was unclear whether she was mocking Bai Song or herself.
Bai Song pressed her lips together. “Jiahui, I did like you.”
“Liked me?” Tong Jiahui raised an eyebrow.
“Yes.” Bai Song nodded emphatically. “I’m sorry. I was wrong.”
“But my mistake wasn’t hiding things from you and being with someone else…” Unlike the original host, Bai Song was a decent person, and some words were simply too shameful to say out loud. At the time, she’d even had the system send those texts for her, which led to her being subjected to every single experiment. The memory made her cheeks burn, flushing instantly. “I should have told you directly when I realized I didn’t love you anymore. We could have… parted on good terms.”
System: “Are you insane? Why are you telling her this? Aren’t you afraid of provoking her?”
Bai Song pursed her lips, as if gambling: “Breaking up is normal in relationships. If people turned vengeful just because of a breakup wishing their ex would get hit by a car or choke on water then who would dare to fall in love?”
“In this situation, the scum was indeed wrong. She was trash, and Tong Jiahui had every right to resent her. But Tong Jiahui’s methods were way too extreme.” The mere thought of Tong Jiahui’s tactics sent a shiver down Bai Song’s spine. Just imagining it made her feel utterly miserable.
Getting paid like a minor character but doing the work of a villain.
At least there were bonuses and compensation.
Tong Jiahui had no patience for her rambling. The happiness and joy she had felt back then only made the memories all the more nauseating and humiliating now. To her, those weren’t fond recollections, they were reminders of how she’d been toyed with and trampled upon, a dark stain on her life that she could never forget or erase.
A vein throbbed violently at her temple. “What exactly are you trying to say?”
Bai Song: “Let’s part on good terms, Jiahui. Can’t we just be like any other couple who broke up normally?”
After all, they had loved each other once. Couldn’t they leave some room for mercy?
Tong Jiahui’s eyes reddened. She traced the necklace she had personally fastened around Bai Song’s neck, her voice gritted with fury: “Part on good terms? Normal couple? Bai Song, who gave you the right to say such things? Were we ever that kind of relationship?”
“We weren’t! We never were!!” Desperation and madness flickered in Tong Jiahui’s eyes, her voice low and hoarse. “From the very beginning, we weren’t. You were the one who treated love like a game first, what right do you have now to criticize my attitude? Bai Song, what even is a ‘couple’? Were we ever one? Were you ever qualified?”
Watching Bai Song’s face turn deathly pale from suffocation, Tong Jiahui laughed, a cold, derisive chuckle laced with obsession. “Bai Song, do you have any self-awareness at all? Lovers? Hahaha, you really think too highly of yourself!”
“Do you honestly believe that after all the pain you caused me, I could still love you? I’m just furious, I want revenge!”
“Y-you… let go of me first.” If she didn’t release her soon, Bai Song really wouldn’t be able to breathe.
Stimulated by her words, Tong Jiahui gritted her teeth and forced her to repeat: “Bai Song, I will never forgive you. Not in this lifetime.”
Her eyes filled with sorrow. Bai Song had thought Tong Jiahui was acting somewhat normal today, but now she was back to this.
Yes, she had been wrong, but she had already apologized and endured punishment. Why did she have to suffer this unnecessary torment?
Pressed down by Tong Jiahui’s overwhelming presence, Bai Song gasped for air, speaking in broken phrases, “You’ll regret this, Tong Jiahui… You will definitely regret it!”
Tong Jiahui smirked coldly. “Regret? Even if I die, I won’t regret avenging myself and reclaiming the dignity you trampled on.” She gripped Bai Song’s chin with such force that her fingertips turned white, as if she wanted to crush her jawbone. “The only thing I regret is not kicking you away the moment you first spoke to me, letting trash like you into my life!”
“Tong Jiahui, I’m warning you the only reason you won’t regret this is because I still love you. The day I stop loving you, you’ll regret it!”
“Bai Song, you love me? Do you even know how to love? Fine, I’ll wait. I’ll wait to see how you make me regret it!”
With a scornful laugh, Tong Jiahui leaned in to kiss her.
Bai Song resisted fiercely, mustering all her strength to struggle. She drove an elbow hard into Tong Jiahui’s ribs, seizing the moment of weakness to twist away and scramble off, only to be dragged back by the ankle.
Clenching her teeth, Bai Song flipped over and slapped Tong Jiahui across the face. Ever since checking her paycheck, she had been eating well and sleeping soundly, her physical condition improving rapidly. Though she lacked Tong Jiahui’s finesse, when it came to women fighting, it was all about hair-pulling and face-scratching Bai Song didn’t play by the rules.
“System, give me a strength boost!” Bai Song roared. “Damn it, I’m gonna wreck her!”
The system hesitated slightly. After two consecutive worlds, Bai Song had indeed been suppressing her rage for too long. “There might be some minor side effects.”
Bai Song was impatient. “What? What side effects?”
“Fighting is an emotional outlet. The more strength you use, the more it’ll affect your emotions afterward for about a day.”
Bai Song tossed her head defiantly. “Doesn’t matter. Beating her up will make me feel better. Pump it up, give me enough to last three days! I’m gonna wreck her!”
The system didn’t argue further and complied though not for three days, just half a day.
If Bai Song actually killed Tong Jiahui, the world would collapse.
Bai Song would suffer too. Venting was one thing, but no need to go overboard.
A surge of energy flooded Bai Song’s body, instantly filling her with power so much that she almost wanted to sprint downstairs for a few laps.
With renewed vigor, she flipped Tong Jiahui onto her back, knee pressing into her stomach, and punched her repeatedly with full force.
The floor was covered with a thick plush carpet, but Bai Song was as strong as an ox. These few blows were enough to make Tong Jiahui suffer, causing an immediate concussion that left her dizzy and nauseous, as if she might vomit at any moment.
Bai Song snorted coldly. Before Tong Jiahui could regain her senses, she slapped her repeatedly across the face, watching as the once-delicate features swelled into a grotesque, pig-like mess, with faint traces of blood seeping from the corners of her mouth.
Bai Song knew that was from accidentally biting the inside of her cheek something she had experienced before, leading to days of painful mouth ulcers that made even takeout unbearable.
Now it was Tong Jiahui’s turn to endure that agony.
As she struck, Bai Song bolstered her own courage with furious shouts:
“Tong Jiahui, who the hell do you think you are? You’re nothing but a parasite feeding off my love for you! If I didn’t love you, would I have stayed to endure your coercion and abuse? You said it yourself, I have no heart. So why should I care about my parents’ legacy? The money they gave me is enough to last three lifetimes! I could go anywhere and still live as the pampered young mistress I am, why the hell should I suffer by your side?”
“Tong Jiahui, listen well. Starting today, I don’t love you anymore. I hate you to the bone. And I’ll tell you this: besides your death, there’s one other way I can leave you forever. And that’s my death. Hahaha! Tong Jiahui, didn’t you want revenge? How about I fucking die right in front of you? Would that satisfy you?”
Tong Jiahui, caught off guard by the sudden assault, was still seeing stars when Bai Song’s words reached her ears.
She instinctively reached out to grab Bai Song’s hand but clutched at empty air. Blinking hard, her blurred vision gradually cleared only to reveal a nightmare she would never forget.
