The Paranoid Film Queen Hooked Me, and I Fell in Love - Chapter 42
Once they reached the top floor of the hotel, Shen Buhui told Xiao Fang to go rest for the night.
She helped Xu Zhiyan into her room, then went to pour her some water and prepare the hangover remedy.
It was a post-drinking hangover medicine—less effective than the kind taken before drinking, but still helpful in easing the symptoms the next morning.
Unlike Shen Buhui, who rarely stepped foot in Xu Zhiyan’s room, Xu Zhiyan herself was already so familiar with Shen Buhui’s suite that it felt like home. Still, the rooms on the top floor were similarly laid out, so Shen Buhui didn’t fumble as she moved around preparing things.
Besides, Xu Zhiyan wasn’t completely drunk yet.
“Here, drink this,” Shen Buhui said as she handed her the glass. “After this, take a shower and get some good rest.”
Xu Zhiyan sleepily opened her eyes. She was still clutching the thing she’d bought at the pharmacy, but seeing Shen Buhui approach with a cup, she shifted her position and quickly hid the item behind her back.
She downed the hangover remedy in one go, and the drowsiness in her eyes noticeably faded.
“Do you want some too?” she asked, remembering Shen Buhui had also had a few drinks earlier.
“I’m not drunk,” Shen Buhui replied with a smile, flicking the tip of her nose lightly.
“Unlike you—bad tolerance but still eager to drink. Overconfident and now drunk, aren’t you?”
“I’m not drunk,” Xu Zhiyan insisted, sitting up straighter as if to prove her point. “I just had a bit too much earlier. I’m already sober now.”
Shen Buhui gave her the kind of look one usually reserves for drunkards.
“But…” Xu Zhiyan’s tone suddenly shifted. “You’re the one who’s drunk.”
Shen Buhui: “??”
“You’re drunk. So you need hangover medicine too.”
Before Shen Buhui could decipher her meaning, Xu Zhiyan leaned closer, resting her head against her shoulder.
She gave a little hum, as if calling back to the moment in the hallway earlier. “Do you remember what you promised me?”
Not waiting for an answer, she tilted her head up and pressed a soft kiss to Shen Buhui’s lips.
“A kiss,” Xu Zhiyan mumbled, “You promised me a kiss.”
With that, she no longer spoke—completely focused on her lips.
Shen Buhui was pushed down onto the sofa, caught in the onslaught of her kiss.
The taste of wine still lingered between their lips, now mixed with a faint sweetness—probably from the hangover remedy. Shen Buhui closed her eyes, letting herself melt into the not-so-gentle kiss.
After a while, the pressure on her lips softened. A subtle tingle remained, while the girl lying on top of her continued pressing tiny kisses to her mouth. Shen Buhui felt a wave of unspeakable tenderness swell inside her.
Letting out a soft breath, Shen Buhui draped an arm across the back of the couch. Xu Zhiyan’s head still rested on her shoulder, her warm breath tickling the side of her neck—it made her skin itch a little.
“Aren’t you going to shower?” Shen Buhui asked softly. “It’s getting late. Don’t you have to go back to school tomorrow?”
“In a bit…” Xu Zhiyan murmured, not wanting to move at all.
She had a little secret she was holding in, and she wasn’t ready to make a decision yet. Buying those things at the pharmacy earlier had been a moment of drunken courage. Now that she was mostly sober, hesitation crept back in.
“Hm?”
Shen Buhui’s hand, which had been resting at Xu Zhiyan’s waist, suddenly shifted. She let out a soft hum of confusion.
Her fingers curled and hooked onto the plastic bag that had been sitting nearby. She lifted it to eye level.
Shen Buhui: “!!!”
Shen Buhui: “……”
“What is this?”
She nudged Xu Zhiyan and sat up straight, her gaze fixed on the item in her hand.
The white, transparent bag couldn’t conceal what was inside—the image and text on the box clearly revealed what it was.
Inside the plastic bag were a box of condoms and a box of finger cots.
“……”
Xu Zhiyan’s face stiffened, her eyes flickering nervously.
Shen Buhui fixed her with a sharp gaze, lips curled into a half-smile. “No wonder you were clutching it so tightly earlier—you were up to no good.”
Xu Zhiyan tried to salvage the moment: “What if I say I just bought some… balloons? Would you believe me?”
Shen Buhui raised an eyebrow. “Do I look like an idiot to you?”
So, no. Not buying it.
Xu Zhiyan’s shoulders slumped immediately. She mumbled, “I’m just… a very hygienic person, that’s all. So I thought, well, maybe I should have these things on hand…”
What the hell am I even saying?!
Her expression blanked out completely as she mentally cursed herself. Why on earth did I buy those? And why didn’t I hide them better?!
Shen Buhui placed the bag back down, tapping the table rhythmically with her fingers—thud, thud, thud.
The dull taps were like heavy drumbeats echoing in Xu Zhiyan’s chest. She licked her lips and tried to change the subject.
“I’m gonna go take a shower. You should get some rest too.”
She stood up and made for the bathroom.
But Shen Buhui suddenly called out, “You’re sober now, right?”
“Huh?” Xu Zhiyan turned back. “I mean… I think my mind is pretty clear.”
“Good.”
Shen Buhui lowered her gaze, her eyes sweeping past the table and over the contents of the bag. She stood up, stretching lazily, then tilted her head with a faint smile.
“You don’t mind having one more person in your bedroom tonight, do you?”
“……” Xu Zhiyan stared at her in stunned silence.
Did she mean what I think she means? She meant it, right? She totally meant it!
Afraid Shen Buhui might change her mind, Xu Zhiyan quickly nodded. “I don’t mind! Not at all!”
Shen Buhui picked up her bag from the sofa and headed toward the door. Startled, Xu Zhiyan stepped forward and called out in a panic,
“Where are you going?!”
Her voice spiked a little, high but not shrill.
“I’m not going back on my word,” Shen Buhui turned back calmly. “I’m going to take a shower. I also need to grab a change of clothes, don’t I?”
…Well, that made sense.
Xu Zhiyan wanted to suggest taking a bath together—but then remembered she had more important things to do tonight. So she restrained herself and nodded with mock composure.
“Alright, I’ll wait for you.”
After Shen Buhui left with a smile, Xu Zhiyan bolted into the bathroom to shower.
With her mind full of unspeakable thoughts, she spent much longer in the shower than usual.
By the time she’d dried her hair and was seated on the sofa, Shen Buhui still hadn’t returned. Xu Zhiyan fidgeted nervously, unable to stay still.
What if she changed her mind? Or maybe she’s just taking a long shower like me?
She downed a glass of cold water and touched her flushed cheeks but didn’t dare message Shen Buhui to rush her.
To calm her nerves, she put on her headphones and opened the learning materials Su Er had sent her.
A little last-minute cramming, a little review—why not?
Around forty minutes later, she finally heard movement at the door.
Instinctively, she exited the study app at lightning speed and yanked her earbuds out.
Shen Buhui walked in wearing a silk nightdress and closed the door behind her. After a deep breath, she asked casually,
“What were you watching?”
Xu Zhiyan’s ears turned red. “Just listening to music.”
Shen Buhui nodded, seemingly unaware of how flustered she was. Truth be told, she was a little nervous herself—and had asked just to break the ice.
Xu Zhiyan tried her best to act calm as she looked at Shen Buhui. She wasn’t wearing that sexy, low-cut gown from last time, but a more modest silk camisole with lace trim. Still, on Shen Buhui, even something simple looked elegant and effortlessly seductive.
Xu Zhiyan rubbed her fingertips nervously as Shen Buhui approached. After a moment of hesitation, with the tips of her ears flushed red, she gently took Shen Buhui’s hand.
“Then… shall we go to sleep?”
The next step after a bath was, of course, getting into bed. There was nothing unusual about the sequence.
“Mm,” Shen Buhui nodded softly.
The two of them walked into the bedroom and closed the door. Instinctively, Shen Buhui glanced around the layout of the room.
And in doing so, she clearly noticed the plastic bag sitting on the bedside table—Xu Zhiyan had already brought it in from outside.
Following Shen Buhui’s gaze, Xu Zhiyan gently squeezed her hand and tried to explain, though her words only made it more obvious, “I just put it there… I’m not planning to use it.”
Shen Buhui shot her a look—clearly unconvinced.
But remembering the study materials she had hurriedly reviewed before coming in, Shen Buhui said softly, “It’s fine if you use it.”
Xu Zhiyan’s heart skipped a beat.
Shen Buhui picked up the item with her slender white fingers, smiling gently. “Shall we use it, Yan Yan?”
Of course they were going to use it! Why else would she have bought it?!
Still, Xu Zhiyan hadn’t expected they’d be using it this soon.
“We’re both adults. We’re in love. Pursuing pleasure isn’t unreasonable, is it?”
Shen Buhui asked her, though it felt like she was asking herself as well.
Besides, Xu Zhiyan was someone she had long desired.
“Not unreasonable at all,” Xu Zhiyan quickly shook her head.
Seeking pleasure is human instinct—especially when it’s with someone you love.
She shifted her gaze away from the intimate item, slowly meeting Shen Buhui’s eyes.
Their gazes intertwined—tension and tenderness blooming between them like unseen fragrance.
No one could tell who made the first move, but by the time Xu Zhiyan regained a sliver of clarity, she was already holding Shen Buhui in her arms, lying together on the soft hotel bed.
The presidential suite’s bed was more than spacious and plush, comfortably accommodating both of them.
Xu Zhiyan gently nibbled at Shen Buhui’s lips, reluctant to let go.
The woman beneath her already had a faint flush at the corners of her eyes, with glistening tears shimmering in her gaze—radiant and alluring.
Xu Zhiyan’s eyes darkened slightly. Knowing something more important was coming, she reluctantly moved her lips away.
A silver thread broke in the air. With a soft “snap,” Xu Zhiyan opened the item she had prepared earlier.
A thin layer was fitted over the tip of her tongue. Xu Zhiyan’s brows twitched slightly—an odd sensation.
Shen Buhui looked down briefly, and her breath instantly quickened.
“You…” She tried to say something, but Xu Zhiyan suddenly lowered her head, cutting her off mid-sentence.
Her skirt was lifted, and the sudden stimulation left her unable to utter another word.
The once-smooth sheets were pulled into wrinkles beneath them.
…
Some time passed before Xu Zhiyan finally removed the item from her tongue and looked up. Her eyes sparkled as she gazed at Shen Buhui.
“Jiejie…” she murmured.
She said just one word, but Shen Buhui understood everything from her gaze.
Tears shimmered faintly in the corners of her eyes under the dim yellow light. Her cheeks were flushed, and only after her chest slowly calmed did she release her grip on the wrinkled sheets.
“…It felt wonderful.”
Xu Zhiyan instantly broke into a smile, her cheeks blushing red—either from shyness or heat.
Climbing up, she lay beside Shen Buhui again, wrapping an arm around her shoulder and dropping several affectionate kisses.
“I saw it…” she said proudly, like a child who had been praised. “I saw how happy you looked.”
Her legs moved slightly beneath the skirt. Shen Buhui had all but melted.
“I’m so happy,” Xu Zhiyan said, like someone starved for affection, showering kisses down her lover’s slender, pale neck.
Shen Buhui slowly surrendered to her gentleness.
A few minutes later, her ears twitched slightly.
Another soft “snap” rang out—especially clear in the quiet night.
Xu Zhiyan sat up and calmly began slipping something onto her delicate, fair hands. When she noticed Shen Buhui watching her, she smiled and lifted her hand with a hint of pride.
“Shall we go for another round of happiness, Jiejie?”
