The Paranoid Female CEO’s Contracted Beauty (Omegaverse) - Chapter 50
For an entire seven days, Li Ge didn’t leave her room, not even once.
Each day, Xu Qingyan treated her more cruelly than the last. She showed no mercy at all. Li Ge felt like her bones were about to fall apart from the torment. Her voice grew so hoarse that in the end, she could only let her silent tears fall to protest. But in Xu Qingyan’s eyes, even that looked like she was acting spoiled.
Eventually, Li Ge became completely unresponsive. She didn’t cry or argue. She lay there like a lifeless doll, allowing Xu Qingyan to do whatever she pleased.
Maybe Xu Qingyan found it boring when she stopped reacting. On the seventh day, she finally stopped. She left Li Ge alone and let her sleep until the next morning. When the maid brought breakfast, Li Ge finally opened her eyes, though they were heavy with exhaustion.
“Miss Li, please get up and eat something,” the maid said gently. Seeing Li Ge lying motionless in bed, and the shredded clothes scattered all over the room, the maid felt a pang of sympathy. But she didn’t dare say much and simply did her job.
Li Ge didn’t respond. Every part of her body ached. She didn’t want to move, didn’t want to eat, and her vacant eyes stared up at the ceiling. Her heart felt completely numb.
It was only during moments like this that she truly hated being born an Omega. As soon as an Alpha used even a little pheromone guidance, she had no choice but to surrender.
She admitted that she couldn’t resist Xu Qingyan’s powerful pheromones. That made her hate herself even more for how powerless she felt as an Omega.
The maid had no idea what Li Ge was thinking. She opened her mouth to speak again, but just then Xu Qingyan walked in holding a cup of warm water.
“You can go now,” Xu Qingyan said.
The maid left the room.
When Li Ge saw Xu Qingyan approaching, she immediately closed her eyes. If she had the strength to move her arms, she would have covered her ears. She didn’t even want to hear the sound of her voice.
“I… please get up and drink some water.”
Xu Qingyan’s voice was soft, with a hint of guilt. She hadn’t meant to hurt Li Ge like this, but the thought of her leaving was unbearable. She hadn’t been able to listen to reason.
Seeing that Li Ge kept her eyes closed, Xu Qingyan sat beside the bed. She placed the cup of water on the nightstand and gently brushed away the loose strands of hair on Li Ge’s forehead.
“You haven’t had any water for a whole day. Please, just drink a little.”
Li Ge turned her head away. If she could move, she would have slapped Xu Qingyan without hesitation.
Xu Qingyan’s hand stopped midair. She knew Li Ge was still angry. But since the previous day, Li Ge hadn’t drunk a single drop of water. If this continued, she could collapse from dehydration.
With no other option, Xu Qingyan took a sip of the warm water herself. Then she leaned in close, grabbed Li Ge’s chin tightly to turn her face forward, and pressed her lips against hers, forcing the water into her mouth.
Li Ge’s eyes flew open in shock. She hadn’t expected Xu Qingyan to do something like this. She didn’t have time to react. When Xu Qingyan’s lips pressed against hers, she had to open her mouth just to breathe. Xu Qingyan took advantage of that and forced her to swallow.
Li Ge hated the feeling. She hated how Xu Qingyan always forced her to accept things. She used what little strength she had to push against her.
She tried to resist, making muffled sounds, but Xu Qingyan didn’t move away until she had passed every last drop of water into her mouth. Only then did she slowly let go.
Li Ge felt sick. She wanted to sit up and spit out the water, but no matter how hard she tried, it felt like the water had already become part of her body. She couldn’t get rid of it.
Seeing her like that, Xu Qingyan frowned slightly, her expression filled with hurt.
“Xiao Ge, do you think I’m disgusting?”
“What do you think?”
Li Ge gave a cold laugh. She had never seen someone so shameless. After forcing herself on someone, she still had the nerve to act innocent and ask whether the other person disliked her.
It was the most ridiculous thing she had ever heard.
She was about to say more, but then Xu Qingyan quietly said, “I’m sorry.”
The room fell completely silent.
A few seconds later, Xu Qingyan continued. “I didn’t mean to force you. I was just so scared that you would leave me.”
She lowered her head in front of Li Ge like a student who had made a mistake, filled with guilt and fear that the teacher wouldn’t forgive her.
Li Ge had been ready to curse her, but in that moment it felt like punching cotton. The anger lost its edge, and she hesitated.
Then Xu Qingyan said, “Xiao Ge, whether you believe me or not, I like you.”
Maybe it was the first time she had said something like that to an Omega. Her words came out awkward and unsure. For someone as proud as Xu Qingyan, she probably never imagined she would ever need to confess to someone. She didn’t even know how to do it properly.
But Li Ge couldn’t believe a word she said.
If Xu Qingyan had said this before, Li Ge might have accepted it without hesitation. But now, she didn’t believe her at all.
Li Ge let out a cold laugh.
“You like me? Director Xu, don’t you think that’s funny? Do you say that to every person you sleep with? If so, you’re truly disgusting.”
Xu Qingyan looked up and tried to explain.
“There’s no one else. If there were, the media would be full of rumors already, wouldn’t they?”
Li Ge thought about it. It was true. She had never heard any gossip about Xu Qingyan, except for the rumors involving Pei Xiaoyu. They had grown up together as childhood friends, and everyone expected them to marry eventually. From any perspective, Pei Xiaoyu was the perfect match for Xu Qingyan.
But what did that matter now? Xu Qingyan clearly had a fiancée, yet she still came to flirt with her. And after doing so, she brought Pei Xiaoyu to the set as if to make a point. Wasn’t she just trying to tell her that marriage with her was impossible, and Pei Xiaoyu was the only one she would ever choose?
Seeing Li Ge stay silent, Xu Qingyan grew anxious. If Li Ge refused to forgive her, if she insisted on leaving, she would completely fall apart.
“Xiao Ge,” Xu Qingyan whispered as she took Li Ge’s hand and placed it on her cheek, rubbing against it like a kitten seeking affection.
“You’re planning to leave me because of Pei Xiaoyu, aren’t you? Let me explain. There’s no real engagement between us. That so-called engagement was just something Xu Hong made up. I never liked Pei Xiaoyu. The person I’ve always liked is you. Please, don’t leave me.”
Xu Qingyan was truly panicking now. Especially seeing the emptiness in Li Ge’s eyes, she was afraid that what Tang Ling had once said would come true. She hurried to explain more.
“That day, the reason I brought Pei Xiaoyu to the set was because I had already made my feelings obvious, but you were still cold to me. So Tang Ling told me this method could test you. If you reacted strongly, it meant you had feelings for me too. I didn’t bring her there to make you jealous on purpose. Xiao Ge, everything I’m saying is true. I’m not lying. I swear.”
As she spoke, Xu Qingyan raised three fingers toward the ceiling.
“If I’m lying about any of this, may I grow old alone.”
Grow old alone?
That punishment sounded far too light.
It wasn’t even a real punishment. Growing old alone only meant not having a fixed partner. With enough money, there would still be plenty of people willing to stay by her side.
Li Ge looked at Xu Qingyan’s panicked face, trying to figure out whether she was pretending or actually telling the truth. If this was all an act, then Xu Qingyan’s acting skills were worthy of an award. And if it wasn’t, then how could she not have seen how much she had hurt her that day?
Do people like this really exist? People so emotionally clueless?
If Xu Qingyan really liked her, how could she not notice whether Li Ge had feelings for her or not?
Xu Qingyan gently rubbed her face against Li Ge’s arm again and whispered, “Xiao Ge, please don’t leave me. Even if you really don’t like me, can you still stay by my side? Whatever you want, I can give it to you. Didn’t you say you wanted the Xu Corporation? Fine. Tomorrow, I’ll transfer the shares into your name. It will be our shared property. You can do whatever you want with it. Spend it however you like. Just don’t leave me. I won’t ever force you again. I won’t make you do anything you don’t want to do. Please, forgive me.”
Li Ge turned her head reluctantly and gave a cold laugh. “Alright. Then let me go free, and I’ll believe you.”
Xu Qingyan felt like her heart was being cut open. “You still want to leave me?”
If she had a choice, Li Ge wouldn’t want to leave the place where she was born. But the reason she had agreed to go with Pei Xiaoyu was because she couldn’t bear the thought of living her whole life under judgment, always looked down upon, unable to hold her head high.
She hated being called the third party. She had never had a complete family growing up. When she was with Gu Shi, she used to imagine what it would be like to marry him. In her dreams, she would never repeat the same mistakes her father Li Dahai and her mother made. She imagined having a child of their own and becoming a happy family of three.
“I just want to live with dignity,” Li Ge said, her voice trembling. “I don’t want people pointing fingers at me every day, calling me an Omega who only knows how to sleep with Alphas.”
Everything she had kept bottled up for so long came pouring out.
“Xu Qingyan, you come from such a good family. You’re beautiful. No matter what people say about you, they still respect you. But look at me. I have nothing. Every day I live in fear that my own father will come drag me back and hand me over to some rich old man. I’m constantly gossiped about behind my back, and I can’t say a word to defend myself.”
“You say you like me. But what have you done for me? Have you ever considered what I feel? You didn’t even ask if I was willing to sleep with you. You only cared about your own satisfaction. You never stopped to think whether I was in pain or whether I wanted it at all.”
Her voice was shaking now, her eyes already red and filled with tears.
“Yes, Gu Shi lied to me. But at least he never forced me. Not once. Even in the end, he still didn’t. But you, Xu Qingyan…”
She stopped for a moment and let out a bitter laugh.
“Fine. I sold myself to you willingly. There’s nothing more to say about that. But if you truly liked me, couldn’t you have at least asked me if I was willing?”
Hearing Li Ge’s voice tremble with pain made Xu Qingyan’s heart ache even more. She lowered herself and pulled Li Ge into her arms.
“Xiao Ge, I’m sorry. I’m really sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt you. This is the first time I’ve ever liked someone so much. I just… didn’t know what to do.”
No one had ever taught her how to love someone. She had never learned what it meant to treat someone right.
Xu Hong never loved Su Mo. To be honest, Xu Hong didn’t care about him at all. Their engagement was nothing more than a business arrangement that suited her goals.
So, from childhood to now, Xu Qingyan had never understood how to love someone. She only knew that as long as the person stayed by her side, she would give them everything she thought was good. But she didn’t realize that maybe those weren’t the things the other person actually needed.
So, she believed the only thing she had to do was whatever it took to make that person stay.
Even if that meant using force.
“It’s my fault. I’m so sorry. Please don’t cry,” Xu Qingyan said, completely at a loss as she saw how heartbroken Li Ge looked. Seeing her cry tore at her heart. “I won’t do it again. I swear. If you don’t want to, then we won’t do anything. You want to live with dignity? Then I’ll post it online and tell everyone. I’ll tell the whole world that you’re my Omega. Not some lover I keep in secret.”
Now that the misunderstanding was cleared up, it seemed this emotionally clueless woman was finally beginning to understand.
