The Paranoid Female CEO’s Contracted Beauty (Omegaverse) - Chapter 49
“Xu Qingyan, let me go! Let me go, you lunatic!”
Without saying a word, Xu Qingyan dragged Li Ge out of the car and carried her over her shoulder as if she weighed nothing. No matter how much Li Ge pounded her fists against Xu Qingyan’s back, she showed no intention of putting her down.
Li Ge was not heavy. In fact, she was far too light, like a feather that could be blown away by the wind.
And in truth, she had tried to slip away quietly. She had secretly planned to leave with help from others, hoping to vanish without being noticed. If Xu Qingyan had not found out in time, Li Ge would have already disappeared by now.
Xu Qingyan was furious, more furious than she had ever been. She felt as if she could storm into the Pei family’s home and sever all ties with Pei Xiaoyu on the spot.
When the butler and maids in the villa saw Xu Qingyan carrying Li Ge on her back, her face dark and stormy, they froze. Although they had no idea what had happened, they had never seen her this angry before. They quickly lowered their heads and kept silent, not daring to ask a single question.
Xu Qingyan had no intention of explaining anything. She walked straight past them, still carrying Li Ge, and headed upstairs to the third floor.
The moment Li Ge realized they were going toward the bedroom, she began to struggle even harder. At the doorway, she lashed out both physically and verbally, partly out of fear of being dropped, and partly because she knew what was coming. As Xu Qingyan carried her into the room, Li Ge suddenly understood exactly what she intended to do, and her panic only grew worse.
“Xu Qingyan, let me down! You crazy woman, let me go right now!”
Xu Qingyan acted as if she did not hear a word and even raised her hand to give Li Ge a light smack on her backside.
It did not hurt, but it was humiliating. Li Ge was an adult, yet she was being treated like this. It was disgraceful, especially in front of so many people. Xu Qingyan really was a complete maniac.
“Let me go, Xu Qingyan! You’re insane. What is wrong with you?”
She thought Xu Qingyan would stay silent as usual, but this time, she responded.
“You are right. There is something wrong with me.”
“What did you say?”
“Didn’t you hear me? Then I will say it again. Li Ge, I am out of my mind.”
Li Ge froze in shock. Ever since she had met Xu Qingyan, she had never once heard her curse, not even when facing someone as unreasonable as Li Dahaï.
This was the first time.
That meant Xu Qingyan was truly angry. And when she got like this, Li Ge knew she was in real trouble.
The bedroom door slammed shut behind them with a loud noise.
A second later, Xu Qingyan threw Li Ge onto the bed with force.
Before Li Ge could react, Xu Qingyan climbed on top of her, holding her down by the shoulders.
She began pulling at the buttons of Li Ge’s qipao with rough, frantic movements, her hands trembling with frustration. She was not driven by desire, but by raw emotion and loss of control.
Li Ge was momentarily stunned, her mind spinning from the sudden impact. But when Xu Qingyan’s cold hands touched her skin, she snapped back to reality.
“No, no. Xu Qingyan, you cannot do this to me.”
She had not done anything wrong. All she wanted was to leave. And it was not her fault. Xu Qingyan already had a fiancée, someone who had grown up with her, someone she was supposed to marry. Yet she still insisted on keeping Li Ge around, forcing her into the role of a hidden lover, making her the unwilling third party.
And now, instead of reflecting on her own actions, Xu Qingyan blamed her.
She poured all her anger onto Li Ge and treated her like she had no right to resist.
Just because she was an omega, with no money and no power, did that mean Xu Qingyan had the right to do whatever she pleased?
The more Li Ge thought about it, the more wronged she felt. Her eyes turned red with emotion as she glared at Xu Qingyan, who continued to pull at her clothes as if she could not see the pain in her eyes.
Xu Qingyan’s gaze was cold and distant. Her expression was filled with anger, and she looked as though she had completely lost control.
Li Ge’s inner garments were suddenly ripped apart, leaving her chest exposed without warning.
“No, Xu Qingyan, you cannot treat me like this.”
“Why not?” Xu Qingyan shouted back, her voice sharp with frustration.
She was angry and confused. She could not understand what she had done wrong. Why did Li Ge want to leave her? Why would she work with Pei Xiaoyu to hide things from her?
“Xiao Ge, I told you before. As long as you stay by my side, I will give you everything you want. So why did you run away?” Xu Qingyan’s voice was cold and trembling. She had completely lost control of her actions and emotions.
If Li Ge wanted to escape, then she would make sure she never left the villa again.
If she did not want to see her, then she would make sure they saw each other every single day, until the hatred between them consumed them both.
In her madness, Xu Qingyan lowered her head and bit down hard on Li Ge’s delicate shoulder. She did not care whether it was appropriate or not. She acted purely out of instinct and fury.
The sharp pain made Li Ge break into a cold sweat, her body tensing.
Soon after, her sobs filled the room.
Downstairs, the butler and maids could hear every sound clearly. But no one dared to knock on the door. No one dared to speak to Xu Qingyan.
They could only stand there, silently listening to the muffled cries that came and went from upstairs.
Li Ge’s sobs grew louder, her voice breaking with every breath. Eventually, even Xu Qingyan had to stop what she was doing. She leaned back and tried to calm herself, her anger slowly fading into regret.
She lowered her head and began to comfort Li Ge with soft kisses. First on her lips, then gently moving up to her nose, her eyebrows, the corners of her red eyes, and finally her forehead. One kiss after another fell, light and tender, as if she were trying to apologize in silence.
She never wanted it to turn out like this. It was Li Ge who kept pushing her to the edge.
Xu Qingyan had made it clear from the start. As long as Li Ge stayed by her side, stayed as her omega, she would give her anything she wanted. Even the stars and the moon—Xu Qingyan would do whatever it took to place them at her feet.
So why did she still try to run?
Did she really want so badly to leave her side?
Xu Qingyan couldn’t understand. But when she saw the tears falling from Li Ge’s eyes like scattered pearls, her heart ached beyond words. Still, the thought of Li Ge sneaking behind her back, planning an escape, stirred something dark inside her.
If she didn’t stop her now, Li Ge would try again.
She couldn’t bear the idea of Li Ge disappearing without a word.
“Why did you try to run?” Xu Qingyan whispered as she gently wiped away the tears from the corners of Li Ge’s eyes. Her voice trembled, not with anger, but confusion and heartbreak. “You signed the agreement. You said you’d stay. If you wanted money, I would have given you any amount. So why go to Pei Xiaoyu? Was I only worth one million to you?”
Li Ge winced from the pain still lingering in her body. Though her voice was hoarse, her defiance was sharp as ever. She glared at Xu Qingyan, her eyes filled with sorrow and fire, and then laughed bitterly.
“Yes. You’re worth exactly one million. Director Xu, don’t pretend. Do you really think this question still has meaning? We’re both adults. Isn’t this whole thing just a joke?”
Xu Qingyan froze, unable to answer. The pain in her chest tightened.
Before she could stop herself, she leaned closer again, as if seeking some kind of answer through proximity.
Li Ge clenched her teeth, refusing to cry out.
The more she resisted, the more Xu Qingyan’s emotions spun out of control. “What did Pei Xiaoyu tell you? Was it her idea for you to leave, or did you plan it yourself?”
Li Ge refused to speak. No matter what Xu Qingyan said or did, she stayed silent, trembling but firm.
Finally, her voice cracked. “You already have a fiancée. Someone who’s been with you since childhood. And yet you still come to me, the outsider. Others might be willing to sell themselves for your money, but I, Li Ge, still have dignity. I won’t sink that low.”
Xu Qingyan’s movements stopped completely.
It wasn’t hard to guess what Pei Xiaoyu must have told Li Ge. But why hadn’t Li Ge come to her directly? Why hadn’t she asked for the truth? Why hadn’t she confronted her and demanded answers?
Instead, she had chosen to run.
She really wanted to leave. That was the truth.
Xu Qingyan lowered her head and pressed her lips gently to Li Ge’s collarbone, not in passion, but in quiet desperation. Li Ge flinched, her whole body tense. This wasn’t healing either of them. It was just dragging out the pain.
“Xu Qingyan, you’re a coward. A lunatic. I hate you… I—”
Before Li Ge could finish, Xu Qingyan kissed her, silencing the words she could no longer bear to hear.
No. Xu Qingyan could not accept her hatred. Not from Li Ge.
She kissed her more desperately, as if trying to erase the pain between them, to draw out something pure from the wreckage of what they had become.
Li Ge pushed against her, but Xu Qingyan held her hands tightly, not letting go. She wasn’t trying to hurt her anymore. She was just lost, broken in her own obsession.
Suddenly, Li Ge felt a strange heat rising through her body. It wasn’t from their confrontation or the tension between them. It came from within—something primal, overwhelming.
Her body was reacting.
Her heat cycle had arrived.
She had sensed it approaching in the last few days, but now it was hitting full force—likely triggered early by Xu Qingyan’s powerful pheromones.
No. Not now.
If her heat came now, in this situation, Xu Qingyan would mark her without hesitation. It would be a lifelong bond. An irreversible tie.
Li Ge had always told herself it didn’t matter. That even if Xu Qingyan had her body, she would never have her heart. But now that the moment was here, she was afraid.
A permanent mark meant she would belong to Xu Qingyan for life. Her body would only respond to Xu Qingyan’s scent. And if she ever wanted to break that bond, she would have to undergo painful gland removal surgery.
No. She could not let this happen.
Xu Qingyan was not the alpha she wanted to spend her life with. She could not allow herself to be marked.
Xu Qingyan, sensing the sudden change in Li Ge’s scent, froze. The pheromones filling the room grew thick and intoxicating. Her instincts screamed to claim her, to make her hers forever.
She bit her lip hard, the pain helping her regain a shred of clarity. No matter how much she wanted it, she couldn’t take this decision away from Li Ge.
Not like this.
Even if every part of her longed to mark her, she would not force her.
But it was already too late to stop the heat. The room was saturated with pheromones. It felt like drowning in fire.
Xu Qingyan struggled to calm herself, hurriedly adjusting her clothes and trying to leave before it was too late. But just as she reached the door, Li Ge reached out and grabbed her wrist.
“Don’t… don’t go.”
The heat had overtaken her. She could no longer think clearly. High-level omegas like Li Ge had more intense heats than most. Her body was no longer under her control.
Though her mind begged Xu Qingyan to leave, her body reached out for her like a drowning person grasping at anything to stay afloat.
Her whole body burned. She felt empty, aching, desperate for something to fill the void.
And Xu Qingyan’s pheromones were the only cure.
Li Ge’s gaze blurred. She pulled Xu Qingyan’s hand to her face, rubbing her cheek against it, whispering, “It feels good…”
Xu Qingyan’s self-control was already fragile, and seeing Li Ge like this shattered what little restraint she had left.
She leaned down again, gently biting Li Ge’s flushed earlobe, her voice low and magnetic.
“Xiao Ge, do you know what you’re doing? Do you know who I am?”
Li Ge knew exactly who she was. But she hated her. She hated how her body betrayed her every time it responded to Xu Qingyan’s scent.
“Answer me. Who am I?” Xu Qingyan whispered, nipping gently again. “Say it, and I’ll give you what you want.”
Li Ge trembled, nearly undone by the teasing. Then she grit her teeth and answered with a smirk.
“You’re… Gu-ge.”
The name of another alpha.
Xu Qingyan’s heart stopped.
The fragile peace within her shattered instantly.
She stood up abruptly, her expression turning to ice. Her hands reached for Li Ge’s clothing, gripping tightly. Without a word, she tore the fabric away and flung it to the floor, her eyes empty of emotion.
