Li Ge didn’t want too much, but it couldn’t be too little either. One million yuan was just enough. It would cover her living expenses and support her future plans. Even if she had many financial needs later, at least the early stages of her life wouldn’t be too difficult.

She had already made up her mind. If Pei Xiaoyu agreed to give her the money, she would pack up and leave the capital that same night. She would never appear in front of Xu Qingyan again.

Li Ge replied, “You’re overthinking it. If I actually did that, it would be fraud. You could report me to the police with the bank records, and I’d be arrested. I would spend the rest of my life in prison.”

Her explanation sounded reasonable.

Li Ge shook her head. “No. It’s not that. Xu Qingyan assigned a personal assistant to watch over me. If I try to leave on my own, she will call Xu Qingyan right away. So I need your help. Can you find me a car? Or send a driver to take me away quietly?”

Pei Xiaoyu thought about it and found her reasoning sound. Xu Qingyan had already gone as far as turning against her own mother for this omega. Li Ge lowered her head and spoke in a quiet voice. “I won’t come back.”

“I won’t return to this place. Please don’t worry, Miss Pei.”

With her head lowered, it was hard to read her expression. But from her tone, Pei Xiaoyu could guess what she was feeling. Still, this was the choice Li Ge made herself. It had nothing to do with her. She was only helping move things along.

Even if Xu Qingyan confronted her later, she could say that Li Ge agreed to the deal. She took the money willingly. No one forced her.

“You’re not regretting it already, are you?” Pei Xiaoyu leaned closer to her face. “I made it clear. Once you take the money, there’s no turning back. If you regret it now, then let’s settle this in court.”

Pei Xiaoyu had no initial reaction to that comment, but then she actually felt sorry for how naive this omega was.
