Xu Qingyan knew the omega was already awake. Perhaps Li Ge believed she was pretending flawlessly, but her stiff body had already betrayed her. Still, she continued to fake sleep, and Xu Qingyan chose to go along with it, acting as if she had noticed nothing and continuing her gentle movements.

She should never have trusted her. She actually believed her when she said she would not come back tonight.

Li Ge grabbed Xu Qingyan’s unruly hand, trying to pull it away. But as she tugged, she realized the alpha’s grip was far too strong. She could not overpower her.

A current of heat rushed through her body, and she let out a soft, sweet moan despite herself.

Hearing that, Xu Qingyan looked satisfied. Her tongue gently nibbled on Li Ge’s burning ear. “Xiao Ge, your voice is so beautiful.”

Li Ge’s entire face turned crimson.

She began kicking at Xu Qingyan, hoping to free herself that way. But her legs were short compared to Xu Qingyan’s long ones. It was like comparing a winter bamboo shoot to a tall, full-grown stalk of bamboo. The difference in height was undeniable.

“You did well tonight.”

In fact, Xu Qingyan had originally planned to stay overnight at the office. But the thought of someone waiting for her at home made her want to return. The house no longer felt cold and empty. It had warmth now, even if that warmth was obtained through force.

“I noticed you hadn’t arrived at the office yet, so I called to check.”

“I understand. Have them wait twenty minutes.”

As she was about to hang up, Secretary Su quickly added, “Director Xu, there is something else I need to report.”

“Go ahead and tell me.”

“Miss Pei came to the office asking for you. When she was told you weren’t here, she refused to believe it. She forced her way into your office, and now I don’t know what to do.”

Xu Qingyan remembered that she had made things perfectly clear the day before. Pei Xiaoyu should have understood. If she still came to the office today, then it had to be intentional.

“I understand. Just let her wait in the office. I’ll be there shortly.”

After speaking, Xu Qingyan hung up and went downstairs.

The housekeeper had already prepared breakfast.

But Xu Qingyan had no time to eat. She asked the housekeeper to pack the food for her to take in the car.
