The Paranoid Female CEO’s Contracted Beauty (Omegaverse) - Chapter 27
“Boss Xu, I’ll tell you the truth. This morning, Mr. Wang from Shengshi Entertainment came to see me. But it wasn’t about trying to poach me. He came to ask about someone. More specifically, he wanted to get some information through me.” Director Li glanced at Li Ge, who was sitting in the room, then lowered his voice. “Boss Wang said that Mr. Li from Feiyue has been looking for his daughter. He came to ask if she had joined your company, Boss Xu.”
Xu Qingyan felt deeply uncomfortable. Once again, she was reminded of how shameless Li Dahai could be. “Did he tell you why Li Dahai is looking for her?”
Director Li genuinely did not know the reason. He could not understand the affairs of the rich and powerful. He only found the whole situation strange. The omega clearly looked like an adult, healthy and independent, with a sharp mind. There was no reason someone like that would go missing.
Even if she had gone missing, she could have gone to the police. There was no reason to come asking him, someone completely unrelated.
“Boss Xu, this has nothing to do with me. I don’t know any of the details. Mr. Wang should ask someone else.” Director Li sensed that Xu Qingyan was involved in this matter and tried to distance himself from it.
Xu Qingyan understood and did not press the issue. “Did Wang Fan say anything else to you?”
Director Li hesitated for a moment but then answered truthfully. “Not really. He just said that Mr. Li was looking for his daughter. He asked me to call him if I heard anything.”
As soon as Director Li finished speaking, they were both distracted by the sound of a struggle coming from the next room.
“So here you are, you little brat. Hiding here like this. You are really hard to find. Just like your mother, always causing trouble for me.”
“I’m warning you, do not even think about escaping from me. Do you really think you are safe just because you ran out of the hotel? Do you know where you are? With just one word, I can make you disappear from this world.”
“I raised you all these years. Do you think I did it out of kindness? If you make my life difficult, do not expect me to treat you like a daughter.”
Then came a sweet but pained female voice.
“Let me go. Let me go. Li Dahai, you monster!”
A loud and clear slap echoed through the room.
Xu Qingyan realized something was wrong. She rushed to the door, yanked it open, and quickly ran back inside. She saw Li Dahai, who had just slapped the omega, now grabbing her by the wrist and dragging her toward the door without any concern for her well-being.
The omega was clearly in pain and could no longer resist. Her body trembled, her face was tense, and she allowed herself to be dragged helplessly.
Xu Qingyan felt an overwhelming surge of rage.
She stared coldly at Li Dahai, her fists clenched tightly. Without giving him a chance to react, she charged forward and landed a hard punch straight to his face.
The sound of the impact was loud.
Li Dahai fell onto the table next to him, lost his balance, and knocked over a chair with a crash.
Xu Qingyan was still not satisfied. Her anger continued to burn.
She stepped forward quickly and kicked Li Dahai hard in the back.
One kick.
Two kicks.
Three kicks.
Each time, she shouted in fury.
“Who do you think you are? You dare touch someone who belongs to me? You must have a death wish.”
Li Dahai could not take it anymore. The kicks were too painful. He screamed in agony.
“It hurts. It really hurts. Stop hitting me. Stop it. Someone help. I am going to die.”
Li Ge stood frozen, staring in disbelief at Xu Qingyan. She was watching her beat Li Dahai with unrelenting fury. It felt almost unreal. She wondered for a moment if she was imagining things, but Li Dahai’s screams were real.
She was not mistaken.
Xu Qingyan was truly enraged.
As Li Dahai’s cries grew louder, Li Ge finally came back to her senses. She was worried that Xu Qingyan might actually beat him to death. She quickly moved forward and tried to stop her.
“Please stop hitting him.”
But Xu Qingyan was far too angry to listen. She raised her foot again and kicked him even harder.
Li Ge saw that no matter how much she pulled, Xu Qingyan would not stop. Desperate, she wrapped her arms around her from behind.
“Please stop. If you keep going, he might really die.”
Even though she hated Li Dahai for selling her out, he was still her biological father. She could not stand by and watch Xu Qingyan beat him to death.
But Xu Qingyan could not hear anything at that moment. The omega in question was someone she cherished deeply, someone she would never even speak harshly to. She would rather protect her in the palm of her hand than let her suffer any pain. But now, Li Dahai had not only slapped her twice, he had also dragged her by the wrist like she was nothing.
How dare he.
“I’ve never liked you from the beginning. If it weren’t for Li Ge’s sake, I would have had someone deal with you a hundred times already!”
Li Ge was slightly stunned when she heard this, but before she could think further, Xu Qingyan delivered another kick to Li Dahai’s back.
“Aaahhhhhh!”
Li Dahai was knocked to the ground and immediately started rolling and groaning in pain.
Xu Qingyan ignored him. When her right foot got tired, she switched to her left. This time, she changed the angle and kicked him in the face instead of the back, though not as forcefully as before.
“Weren’t you enjoying yourself earlier when you were hitting people? What’s wrong now? Done already?” Xu Qingyan grew angrier with each word. “Was I too polite to you before? Did that give you the illusion that I’m easy to deal with? If it weren’t for her, I would have beaten you long ago!”
Li Dahai’s screams weakened. He clutched his head and rolled on the floor, begging for mercy.
“Please stop! Stop hitting me! I can’t take it anymore!”
Finally, unable to endure it any longer, Li Dahai struggled to crawl up from the floor. As he crawled, he shouted loudly.
“Xiao Ge, are you really going to stand there and let this crazy woman beat your father to death? Do you really want to see your own father die right in front of you?”
Li Ge snapped out of her daze. She gathered all her strength and pulled Xu Qingyan back.
“That’s enough! If you keep going, you’ll really kill him!”
Xu Qingyan’s voice was cold and furious.
“A man like him doesn’t deserve to live in this world, and he certainly doesn’t deserve to be your father! Rather than let him continue to harm others, it’s better to remove this trash now.”
Li Ge was not strong. She could barely hold Xu Qingyan back. She did not like her father, but she also did not want Xu Qingyan to end up in prison because of her. She looked toward Director Li, who was still standing outside the door.
“Aren’t you the director who’s supposed to be auditioning me today? Please help me. Get him out of here. If this goes on, someone will die.”
Director Li wanted nothing to do with this mess. He quickly rushed in, dragged Li Dahai out of the room, and closed the door behind him. Only then did Xu Qingyan begin to calm down.
Seeing this, Li Ge finally dared to loosen her grip.
But the moment she did, Xu Qingyan grabbed her hands again and pulled her back into an embrace.
“You hate him, don’t you? So why are you still worried about whether he lives or dies? He tried to sell you to other alphas as a plaything. Why are you still thinking about his well-being? He doesn’t deserve to be your father. He doesn’t deserve your mercy.”
Xu Qingyan truly could not understand. If Li Dahai despised omegas, why had he raised one at all?
If his goal had been to use her as a pawn, he should have revealed his intentions much earlier. He should have raised her from the beginning with that purpose in mind, molding her into an obedient puppet who would never defy him. If he told her to go east, she would never go west.
Li Ge stayed silent. Her feelings toward Li Dahai were complicated. In this world, he was the only person she was related to. If he disappeared, then there would be no one left in the world she had any connection to.
“He’s my father,” she whispered, her voice choked with emotion.
“But he tried to sell you to other alphas as a toy.”
“I know.”
“Then all the more reason he should die.”
“He’s the only family I have in this world.”
Xu Qingyan could not understand. To her, family meant little. She had never believed that she would care if Xu Hong, her own mother, left her one day. After all, in Xu Hong’s eyes, she was nothing more than a puppet. If she had not worked so hard to reach where she was today, Xu Hong would have abandoned her long ago.
Whether or not Xu Hong would have had another child with her biological father, she did not know. But she did know one thing very clearly. If she had not fought tooth and nail to climb this far, she would be no different from Li Ge today.
That was why, to Xu Qingyan, family was far less important than survival and power.
She let go of Li Ge’s hands and slowly turned around. When she saw the pink handprint on Li Ge’s face, she gently reached out and touched it.
“Does it hurt?”
Li Ge did not pull away. She allowed Xu Qingyan to touch her burning cheek. She said nothing, just shook her head.
Xu Qingyan’s heart ached. She gently rubbed the mark with her fingertips, then leaned in and pressed a soft kiss on Li Ge’s injured cheek.
“If I blow on it, the pain will go away.”
Li Ge’s eyes suddenly widened. Her heart began to race. She knew she should be afraid of getting too close to Xu Qingyan. She should pull away.
But that kiss, and those words that sounded like something meant to comfort a child, made her feel like crying.
She did not know if it was because of the pain, but her eyes began to sting, and soon tears began to fall.
One of those tears landed right on the corner of Xu Qingyan’s lips.
Xu Qingyan did not pull back. Instead, she followed the trail of the tear with her lips, kissing upward until she reached the corner of Li Ge’s eye.
“Don’t cry,” she whispered.
In truth, Xu Qingyan was jealous of Li Dahai. The omega always acted like a lifeless doll around her. She never cried, never laughed, never even complained. She was as cold and quiet as a mannequin in a display window, and that kind of silence hurt Xu Qingyan deeply.
Even if the omega got angry with her, at least then she would know that she was alive, that she was still human. But now, she was like a living body without a soul.
“I promise you,” Xu Qingyan said, kissing Li Ge gently between the brows, “he will never appear in front of you again. This kind of thing will never happen again. I promise.”
