After carrying Li Ge to the passenger seat, Xu Qingyan got into the driver’s seat. She hadn’t brought the chauffeur today. For Xu Qingyan, this kind of private moment was rare and valuable.

“Why didn’t you let the driver come? Where are you taking me?” Li Ge suddenly asked.

Xu Qingyan was leaning over to fasten her seatbelt when she heard the question. Her expression immediately darkened. She didn’t know why, but she disliked hearing an omega ask something like that.

She looked up and trapped Li Ge between her arms, her tone full of displeasure.

“You don’t want me to take you? Then who do you want instead? That driver from earlier? Or your ex-alpha boyfriend Gu Shi, the one you still cannot forget? Do you still have feelings for him?”

Li Ge was stunned by the sudden wave of questions. She had no idea why Xu Qingyan was asking something so childish. They had already slept together the night before, so what was the point of bringing this up now?

Besides, their relationship was just a transactional one between a benefactor and a kept lover. There was no room for genuine emotions. Xu Qingyan herself had plenty of lovers on the outside, yet she still insisted on asking Li Ge such ridiculous questions. Li Ge truly felt like Xu Qingyan was just playing with her like a pet, deliberately stirring things up to see her reaction.

She was not stupid, just too naive.

“What I think or feel does not concern you, Director Xu. I am pretty sure your contract does not have a clause that forbids me from having my own thoughts.”

“What if I say it does?”

Li Ge turned her head and looked at her in disbelief.

There was no such rule in the contract. The housekeeper had told her the night before that Xu Qingyan returned after Li Ge had already signed the contract without even reading it. That was how Xu Qingyan managed to take advantage of the situation.

“You do not believe me?” Xu Qingyan said seriously. “If you do not believe me, I will have the housekeeper send you a digital copy of the contract right now.”

Li Ge stared into Xu Qingyan’s eyes for a long time. Those cold and indifferent eyes gave nothing away, just like the first time she had seen her. There was only detachment and a frightening intensity, as if Xu Qingyan wanted to consume her whole.

If it had been anyone else, Li Ge might not have believed it. But someone like Xu Qingyan would only feel secure if she had everything firmly under control. She had no reason to lie.

Seeing that Li Ge seemed to be convinced, Xu Qingyan pressed further.

“So, do you still have feelings for that alpha who played with your heart?”

“No.”

“Then prove it.”

Xu Qingyan did not believe she had forgotten that alpha so easily. She leaned closer and asked again.

“How can you prove that you don’t?”

Li Ge lowered her eyes and avoided her gaze. She knew Xu Qingyan was doing this on purpose. She clearly understood why Li Ge had gone to the private villa, yet she still forced her to say it out loud.

This woman was truly cruel.

When Li Ge still refused to answer, Xu Qingyan leaned in even closer. Their faces were now so close that they could feel each other’s breath. They were just a few centimeters away from kissing.

Li Ge instinctively leaned back, uncomfortable with the closeness, but she had nowhere to go. She was already pressed against the passenger seat.

Xu Qingyan gave her no room to retreat and continued.

“The contract clearly states that as a lover, you are not allowed to disobey your patron. If you do, the patron has the right to punish you. Tell me, Ge, do you want me to punish you? Or maybe, you like it when I do?”

She never said she liked it.

What on earth was this woman even saying?

Li Ge’s heart began to pound uncontrollably. She did not know exactly what Xu Qingyan meant by “punish,” but she was certain it was not something good.

“Then how do you want me to prove it?” she snapped, glaring fiercely at Xu Qingyan.

There was no way to prove something like that. It all came down to whatever Xu Qingyan wanted to believe. This terrible alpha was clearly teasing her on purpose.

Xu Qingyan found Li Ge’s angry expression rather amusing. She had only wanted to mess with her a little to distract her and maybe find out if she still had lingering feelings for that jerk. She did not expect Li Ge to take it seriously and get so worked up. It would be such a waste to stop now.

“Kiss me.”

Li Ge froze.

So she was doing this on purpose after all.

When she still did not respond, Xu Qingyan narrowed her eyes and said coldly.

“You really are still thinking about that jerk.”

Li Ge was utterly speechless. She could not understand what Xu Qingyan really wanted. Was it to constantly remind her that not only her body but even her thoughts had to belong to Xu Qingyan?

This was completely unreasonable.

“Director Xu, even if I still have feelings for him, what does it matter?” Li Ge could not hold back any longer. “Yes, I am your lover now. My body belongs to you, but my thoughts are still my own. What I choose to think is my business. If you cannot accept that, then pay me and let me go. You can go find another omega whose body, heart, and mind are all under your control.”

Xu Qingyan did not seem angry at all. In fact, she felt like Li Ge’s naive attitude had vanished overnight. Even if she wanted to run away, she still remembered to ask for money.

But something about what Li Ge had just said made Xu Qingyan very uncomfortable. Things had already gone this far. She knew that man had never truly loved Li Ge, and she did not understand why Li Ge still could not let go.

Was she not more attractive than that man?

Was her body not more desirable?

The more she thought about it, the more frustrated she became. She reached out and grabbed Li Ge’s chin, her tone full of irritation.

Li Ge replied calmly, “I understand, Director Xu. You don’t need to repeat it.”

Even if Xu Qingyan said nothing, Li Ge already understood. If she was not interested in her body, what else could she possibly care about?

But Xu Qingyan was clearly displeased with that answer. Her frown deepened, and she lifted Li Ge’s chin forcefully, making the omega look at her.

“Then answer my question from earlier. Or kiss me.”

Li Ge could sense that Xu Qingyan was angry. But that question from before—no matter how she answered it, Xu Qingyan would never be satisfied. If she said no, Xu Qingyan would not believe her. If she said yes, Xu Qingyan would be even angrier. No matter what she said, it would not please her.

And making Xu Qingyan upset right now was not a good idea. There were still things Li Ge needed from her in the future. She could not afford to push too far.

So in the end, she had only one choice.

Li Ge broke free from Xu Qingyan’s grip, gritted her teeth, and slowly raised her hands to cup her face. Then, she leaned in and gently kissed her.

Xu Qingyan’s anger vanished instantly. The corners of her lips lifted slightly as she responded to the kiss by extending her tongue.

Li Ge’s eyes flew open. She quickly pushed Xu Qingyan away and wiped her mouth with the back of her hand.

Her reaction made Xu Qingyan very unhappy, even more than before. An omega was not supposed to reject her, especially not push her away like that.

“Is my kiss that disgusting?”

Li Ge froze. She did not feel that way at all. Xu Qingyan had just suddenly used her tongue, which startled her. It was only a reflex to push her away and wipe her lips.

“No… it’s not.”

Xu Qingyan’s expression remained stern. “Then why did you push me away?”

Li Ge struggled to come up with an explanation. If she told the truth, Xu Qingyan would probably be even angrier. So she said, “I suddenly felt carsick. I was worried I might throw up in your mouth. I’m sure Director Xu can understand.”

She was clearly lying.

Xu Qingyan did not respond. Before Li Ge could react, she leaned in again and kissed her forcefully. Her tongue pried open the omega’s lips, invading her mouth without hesitation.

Li Ge’s eyes widened in shock. She raised her hands and hit Xu Qingyan’s chest in protest. When that had no effect, she tried to push her away instead.

But Xu Qingyan did not budge. In fact, her resistance only made her more aggressive. The kiss deepened.
