The Only Ultimate Alpha in the Universe - Chapter 5
The moment their gazes met, Xiao Sa keenly perceived a shift in the atmosphere. The sound of the door locking served as a command; the great lion pinned beneath his palms let out a howl, becoming increasingly restless.
Xiao Sa frowned, watching Landis approach step by step. “Captain, do you have other business?”
The flushed corners of the blonde officer’s eyes and his blackened pupils made it clear that his state was abnormal.
“Captain? It’s very late; everyone should be resting. If there’s something to discuss, it can wait until tomorrow.”
Whether due to the lack of the translator or some other reason, Landis remained deaf to his words. His gaze was locked onto Xiao Sa. Beads of sweat traced paths down his neck, disappearing into his heaving chest. Barefoot, he continued his relentless advance.
Xiao Sa cursed his luck. How did the master go mad right along with his combat pet? And why insist on coming to me…
In the split second Xiao Sa was distracted by Landis, the black lion beneath him erupted. With an “Awoo,” it flipped over and pounced!
Xiao Sa was knocked off balance. Though his hands still held a firm lock on the lion’s thick neck, his back suddenly struck a burning-hot chest.
His shoulders were seized with immense force and shoved forward. The massive momentum, combined with the weight of the lion Xiao Sa was holding, slammed him heavily against the metal wall.
The black lion, its head spinning from the impact, inadvertently became a furry cushion for the two men.
Wedged between the man and the beast, Xiao Sa found himself momentarily unable to move.
A damp, hot palm clamped firmly onto the back of his neck. Heavy breathing fanned over him. The cramped space felt as if a glowing iron brand had been dropped into it; the surrounding air turned steaming hot in an instant.
Landis leaned down, burying his face in the crook of Xiao Sa’s shoulder, greedily and forcefully inhaling the scent of his body. He didn’t know what the scent was; it felt as though there was no specific smell at all, yet the craving transmitted from his Spiritual Body was overwhelming. His brain throbbed with dizziness; he had long since abandoned reason. Every pore on his body opened, joyfully welcoming a spiritual rain.
Man and lion were both ecstatic. Only Xiao Sa had veins bulging at his temples, his eyes narrowing dangerously. “I’m telling you… the people in this star sector are truly. Too. Impolite!”
Accompanying his gritted teeth was a powerful elbow strike that landed squarely in Landis’s ribs.
Landis instinctively hunched over in pain. Xiao Sa immediately spun around to counterattack—knee strikes, leg sweeps, a flurry of blows so fast they left afterimages.
As the Commander of the Empire’s Third Legion, Landis’s combat instincts were etched into his marrow. Even though his mental sea was on the edge of a frenzy, and he took several hits due to his negligence, his instincts began to fight back.
THUD— Fists collided with forearms. In a low, muffled rhythm, the two exchanged a rapid series of blows before breaking apart. In just three minutes, they had crossed paths countless times.
In the narrow room, the wind from their strikes whistled, knocking over everything in sight. Heavy breathing echoed. Xiao Sa fought Landis while simultaneously staying wary of the black lion waiting for an opening. Facing two opponents at once, he didn’t yield an inch.
Xiao Sa’s eyes grew increasingly surprised. This Captain clearly wasn’t an Alpha, yet he could fight him blow for blow. It was incredible. These two opponents were terrifyingly powerful, clearly on a different level from the group on the pirate ship.
Out of the corner of his eye, Xiao Sa saw Black Flame’s long, strong tail standing high. The lion’s tongue continuously licked its nose, its front body lowered deep. Its golden vertical pupils were filled with dangerous light; it was excited to the extreme, ready to capture its prey for a feast.
Xiao Sa let out a cold “Heh” from his throat. Good grief, it seems it doesn’t want to eat prey that’s already ‘dead’.
Before him, Landis’s gaze had completely changed—his pupils had gradually become vertical slits, just like Black Flame’s!
Suddenly, he and Black Flame moved in unison. Relying on their unparalleled coordination and the Spiritual Body’s natural ability to vanish and reappear, they tackled Xiao Sa to the ground. With a loud thump, he was pinned ruthlessly.
Landis’s blackened vertical pupils stared intently at Xiao Sa’s face, his vision blurred as if through a damp fog.
In his perception, Xiao Sa radiated an exquisitely wonderful aura—like a starving man smelling a fragrant delicacy, or someone who hadn’t drank in days soaking in a sweet spring. That unique, tipsy scent teased every nerve and cell in his body. A voice in his mental sea screamed for him to embrace, kiss, and even tear, until he had claimed this person entirely!
Landis exhaled a parched, heated breath. He lowered his head, moving to kiss Xiao Sa’s face—
HUM— A frequency in the mental sea flashed and vanished. The surrounding air suddenly became thick and sluggish.
Froze in place along with the air were the limbs of the black lion and Landis’s lowered neck.
A hand had clamped firmly onto Landis’s throat. The knuckles were clearly defined, containing unshakeable power. With just a bit of effort, those fingers could easily crush his fragile windpipe.
“Ngh!” Landis’s pupils constricted. Under the weight of suffocation, a flush spread from his neck to his cheeks.
His hands instinctively tried to pry the fingers away, but no matter how he struggled, Xiao Sa’s grip remained unmoving, as did his dark, heavy gaze.
“Captain, intruding into someone’s bedroom at midnight with a pet and being so rude as to put your hands on them is not the behavior of a gentleman.”
“Let me make this clear.” Xiao Sa pulled himself up, leaning in close while still holding the man’s throat. “I am neither your prisoner, nor your prey.”
His eyes were narrow, his pupils as black as ink. As they squinted slightly, a natural Alpha aura of irresistible authority radiated out, pouring entirely over the inches-away Landis and Black Flame.
He lowered his voice, saying coldly, “I don’t mind teaching you a lesson in etiquette.”
Under the dual pressure of mental weight and suffocation, Landis’s eyes began to glaze over. Yet, the sensory nerves connected to his Spiritual Body were sparked into a tremor of unprecedented, extreme excitement.
Sweat poured from his forehead. His military jacket had long been discarded, hanging loosely from his elbows. His firm chest heaved violently, exposing the three deep scars over his heart. Sweat traced the lines of his abdominal muscles.
Xiao Sa noticed the man’s body temperature was wrong. Looking down, he couldn’t help but let out a “Tsk” and a cold, angry laugh. “What kind of fetish is this?!”
Heavens have mercy, I really am a respectable Alpha!
“ROAR!” Completely suppressed by Xiao Sa’s pheromones, the black lion struggled to hook its front paws around his waist. Its tail stubbornly wrapped around him, tightening further, while it let out distressed, incessant cries.
Man, lion, and “alien” finally ended their chaotic struggle in a bizarre, frozen stalemate.
“It’s boiling…” Xiao Sa panted. The air was thick with rising heat. The black lion pinned to him felt like a mass of black flame; its fur was like unburnable fire, leaving his back flushed red and his whole body soaked in sweat.
A small flicker of black fire suddenly erupted from the tip of the lion’s tail. The air was instantly filled with a scorched smell. Xiao Sa was speechless. It even comes with elemental powers?!
How was he supposed to soothe these two mindless, crazed beings? He didn’t want to be burned to death, but he also couldn’t solo an entire Super-class Legion.
However, Black Flame didn’t actually intend to burn him. The tip of its tail had simply lost control after being saturated with pheromones; like a drunkard, it would tighten and loosen, swaying unsteadily.
“Wait… what is that smell?”
As Xiao Sa struggled with the two pieces of “sticky candy” attached to him, a faint, crisp, and clear scent drifted into his nose through the smell of char.
The scent was extremely light—fainter than a Beta’s. If Xiao Sa weren’t an Alpha with a natural gland sensitive to pheromones, he never would have distinguished it.
Before he could process what this scent meant, the black lion descended into total madness. Its large, wet tongue licked across his face without warning, practically giving him a wash.
Caught off guard, Xiao Sa’s face was covered in slobber.
In that instant, Landis seemed to receive a massive stimulus. His muscles went taut to the limit. He suddenly broke free and lunged, biting ruthlessly into Xiao Sa’s lips.
At such a short distance, there was no time to react. He was kissed square on.
It was less of a kiss and more like a predator tearing at food. His lip was quickly bitten through, and a few drops of blood seeped out. A high concentration of pheromones instantly filled his nasal cavity—sweet, intoxicating, and dizzying.
The air seemed ignited by the scent of blood. Landis’s aggressive assault added fuel to the fire, thoroughly igniting Xiao Sa’s own rage.
The dignity of an S-rank Alpha was not to be defiled!
Continuously expanding a mental domain in a short time carried heavy side effects, but at this moment, Xiao Sa didn’t care.
“You asked for this!”
His brows knit together, his gaze terrifyingly dark. He plunged his fingers into Landis’s sweat-drenched blonde hair, forcefully pulling his head back, then slamming it down to expose a small patch of skin on the back of his neck where the veins were bulging.
Regardless of whether the other man had an Omega gland, Xiao Sa unsheathed his sharp canine teeth, lowered his head, and bit down hard into the back of the neck.
Instantly, Xiao Sa’s unique pheromones flooded the narrow blood vessels like a racing tidal wave. Landis’s glazed vertical pupils dilated to their limit. Every cell in his body shuddered in a frantic tremor.
In a wash of blinding white light, the black lion retreated into the mental sea and vanished completely. Landis caught only a blurry shadow before finally losing consciousness entirely…
In the cramped room, the thick, viscous scent of tequila occupied every inch of space. Tables and chairs lay scattered across the rug in total disarray.
A tall figure lay quietly on the sofa, covered loosely by a wrinkled black military jacket.
Thanks to Landis, the guards outside had been sent away long ago. No one had dared to disturb the Legion Commander during his personal “interrogation” of Xiao Sa.
Even less could anyone have predicted that the great Commander, protected by an S-rank Spiritual Body, would capsize in a “storm in a teacup” and fall at the hands of a “heavily injured and weak” refugee.
After an unknown amount of time, the scent in the room began to dissipate. The figure beneath the clothes stirred.
