The Omega Becomes The Zerg Queen - Chapter 7
Chapter 7: Imperial Guard Selection
The twins were indeed not females; they possessed an extremely rare constitution among the Bart race—Chimerism.
Individuals with this constitution do not develop typical sexual characteristics during their larval stage. Instead, upon reaching adulthood, they are granted a single opportunity to choose their gender.
For the twins, who had yet to make their choice, they were currently neither female nor male, but in a genderless state between the two.
“I imagine you’ve already decided which gender to choose, my ‘younger brother’,” Cellar said with a slight smile.
“I imagine you have as well, my ‘older brother’,” Damian winked at him. “From now on, let us each rely on our own merits.”
“Of course.” A flash of darkness crossed Cellar’s cherry-pink eyes. “But do not forget, we are twins. Your favor is my favor.”
“I understand, brother.” Damian grinned, his sharp canines faintly visible. “First, we deal with the others. Then, the real battlefield begins between us.”
…The black-haired Queen’s eyes curved into crescents. Her pitch-black pupils were as deep as the universe, yet now they sparkled with joy, like brilliant nebulae appearing in a mysterious galaxy.
Watching this scene, Zephyros felt a strange emotion welling up within his hollow heart. The Zerg do not feel cold, yet he found himself longing for the warmth radiating from the Queen.
The Zerg are born loyal to the Queen, but Zephyros felt that beyond the instinct in his blood, he held a new, unfamiliar feeling for her—one based on the girl herself.
To Lucius, the girl before him seemed to be glowing. He knew, of course, that the Queen didn’t literally emit light, but because of her smile, she appeared so dazzling that “glowing” was the only fitting description.
The Queen is truly adorable, Lucius thought privately.
He couldn’t help but smile as well, feeling happy simply because she was happy.
The newborn Queen was so approachable and gentle that it was difficult to look away. If he could, he wished to remain by her side every second, guarding and serving her.
Lucius Affection Level: ★★★★☆ (Cherishing Admiration)
However, his own body was so grotesque. If the Queen ever found out, she would surely distance herself, resist him, and feel disgusted.
How could someone like him harbor such feelings for her? Being able to handle political affairs for her was already his greatest honor.
The affection level spiked briefly, then dipped back down.
Lucius Affection Level: ★★★☆☆ (Close Confidant)
After a brief lapse in concentration, the young man returned to his role as the gentle yet distant High Priest.
The Queen’s birth was sudden, and there were many arrangements to be made on the ship and the home planet.
“Your Majesty, there are many preparations regarding your birth that the Zerg must attend to. Please allow your servant to temporarily take his leave,” the young man said, his expression darkening with reluctance as he bid her farewell. “If you need me, please summon me with your mental power. I will appear by your side immediately.”
The girl was puzzled by the erratic shifts in his affection level. Fearing she might trigger him further, she chose the safest response.
“Don’t worry about me, go ahead and get busy,” Su Lili waved goodbye.
Seeing Lucius leave, Zephyros also bowed to bid her farewell. “I shall also take my leave.”
Although he desperately wanted to serve by her side, he had observed her stiff and shy reactions when contacting the opposite sex during their journey. Zephyros understood that the Queen still held a degree of wariness toward males. In that case, it was better to leave proactively to avoid making her feel uncomfortable and to leave a good impression.
The young man’s golden eyes burned like suns as he gazed at her, speaking as if making a solemn vow. “Please rest well. If you have any needs, summon your servant at any time.”
…
Meanwhile, the “Insect-Blog” (Zerg social media) was dominated by news about the Queen.
-
#The Queen Arrives, Everyone Make Way# Under this tag, Zerg users were fantasizing about conquering the galaxy and slaughtering all opposition under the Queen’s leadership.
-
#Black Hair and Black Eyes are the GOAT# According to frontline insiders, the Queen has black hair and black eyes. Zerg who couldn’t reach the front lines began creating “substitutes”—some dyed their hair, some wore colored contacts, and some created black-haired virtual avatars. One Zerg blogger born with naturally black hair gained hundreds of thousands of followers in a single hour.
-
#Queen, Look Over Here# Zerg of all genders were posting their photos, hoping the Queen might see them if she scrolled through the tag. These killing machines, feared by the entire universe, showed none of their cold-blooded ruthlessness, transforming instead into fanatical fans.
The top trending topic was: #When Does the Queen’s Imperial Guard Selection Begin?#
By Zerg tradition, every Queen has her own Imperial Guard—a direct legion managed by the Queen herself. The top three winners of the selection tournament are personally received by the Queen. This is a rare opportunity for direct contact.

…
In the Prefect’s Lounge of the First Military Academy.
Sanjis leaned back on the sofa, his legs resting nonchalantly on the desk as he scrolled through the Insect-Blog. Looking at the discussions, he propped his chin on one hand, his eyes filled with contempt. “Just a bunch of clowns.”
He stretched and walked to the window, his green eyes gazing toward the Queen’s location like a wolf. Finally, he laughed—a wild, arrogant laugh on a face as delicate as a little prince’s.
“First place… belongs to me, of course.”
…
Following Damian and Cellar through the doors, Su Lili found herself in a magnificent room—or rather, a palace.
Although as an OMEGA her previous living environment had been top-tier, it paled in comparison to this. A crystal chandelier hung from the ceiling, studded with exquisite gemstones. The walls were adorned with intricate reliefs. The most rare and luxurious treasures in the galaxy were scattered everywhere.
“My King, these are treasures collected from the Zerg vault,” Cellar explained gently. “If you don’t like these, we will collect more. You need only describe what you like.”
Collect? How exactly are they collecting? Su Lili wondered. Given the Zerg’s reputation, “collecting” likely meant intimidation or invasion. To avoid unnecessary conflict, she quickly reassured them. “These are all wonderful. I like them all very much.”
“My King, your Star-Brain is ready!” Damian walked over holding a silver box.
Cellar took the box and presented it to her. “This is the latest model. Press the chip against your skin to bind it; it will merge and become invisible.”
Su Lili pressed the small black chip against her left wrist. It merged with her skin, and a semi-transparent electronic screen appeared before her eyes.
“The King can register an Insect-Blog account!” Damian suggested excitedly.
Su Lili tried it out. In her past life, the internet was her only bridge to the outside world. She registered her account with her usual nickname, Lili, and set her profile picture to solid black.
