The Omega Becomes The Zerg Queen - Chapter 3
Chapter 3: Sweet Fragrance
Meanwhile, outside the eggshell.
The Giant-Force Tribe underground had, of course, received the King’s distress signal. The already restless bugs were further provoked; they waved the giant pincers on their forearms, their sharp tips sweeping back and forth through the air and across the ground, desperate to eliminate whatever source of fear was troubling their Queen.
But even after searching the entire underground, they found no enemies or threats.
The King had returned to the egg, and the leader of the Giant-Force Zerg stood guard by the white egg. This was the place closest to the King. To those who had personally witnessed her breaking the shell, their King had just been born and was at a stage where she needed care and attention.
Although the concept of “caring for young” didn’t exist in the Giant-Force Tribe’s cognition—after all, even a newborn Giant-Force Zerg could tear apart a high-level Federation mecha—the Giant-Force bugs before her still instinctively wanted to accompany their King.
After sleeping for an unknown amount of time, the mucus inside the shell was almost entirely absorbed. Su Lili finally woke up.
Before her eyes were still the familiar eggshell and the pitch-black rock walls.
“So it wasn’t a dream after all.”
She shook her head, shattering the last lingering trace of wishful thinking.
The creatures outside the shell were her subjects now. She would have to face them sooner or later.
After composing herself, Su Lili took a deep breath, stood up skillfully, poked her head out again, and waved.
“Hi.”
The moment Su Lili spoke, the swaying antennae of the fierce-looking giant bugs paused for a split second, then began to wave even more violently. The Giant-Force bugs nervously tightened their circle, their compound eyes staring unblinkingly at Su Lili, and the blue light atop their heads glowed even brighter than before.
Low-level Zerg lack mental tentacles and cannot speak. The Giant-Force bugs’ antennae hummed, moving so fast they were mere afterimages.
Through the unique mental link of the Zerg, Su Lili could feel emotions like joy, concern, and anticipation radiating from them.
With these emotions added, the compound eyes that once made her shiver now seemed somewhat cute and dorky.
“Don’t worry, I’m fine.” A wave of transparent mental power radiated out with Su Lili as the center, linking all the Giant-Force Zerg present in an instant. Through this mental power, she quietly soothed the anxious bugs.
Remaining E-grade Mental Power: 90%
The tender mental power of the new King conveyed feelings of gentleness and concern through the link.
Their dorsal elytra fully opened, revealing the transparent membranous wings beneath—normally a fatal weakness, but now revealed without hesitation.
The Giant-Force bugs retracted their forearms and buried the front of their bodies deep in the dirt, declaring their loyalty in the most primitive fashion.
Welcome, our Queen.
The sensation of the mental connection felt somewhat familiar to Su Lili.
She thought for a moment and realized she seemed to have done something massive before she fainted.
The Zerg social hierarchy is like a pyramid. High-level Zerg can use mental power to link and control low-level Zerg; low-level Zerg can only passively accept the link and cannot initiate one with high-level Zerg. The Zerg Queen is undoubtedly at the pinnacle of this pyramid.
A Queen is born with the ability to mentally link with all Zerg, either one-on-one or one-to-many. This link has no distance limit; if Su Lili wishes it, every Zerg in the galaxy will receive her signal.
And before she fainted, in her state of panic, she had subconsciously linked with every single Zerg and sent out a distress signal.
The elf-like girl inside the eggshell twitched the corners of her mouth. Her exquisite face wore an expression of wanting to cry but having no tears.
Oh dear, this is bad.
The newborn Queen’s location was unknown, and she had lost contact after sending a distress signal. For the Zerg, who had been without a Queen for two hundred years, this was undoubtedly giving them hope only to plunge them into despair immediately.
Su Lili didn’t dare imagine what kind of chaos the Zerg home planet would be in.
But avoidance was not the answer. She had to clean up the mess she had made.
Though it was hard to adapt all at once, since she was now the Zerg Queen, and the Queen’s fate was tied to the entire race, Su Lili felt she shouldn’t run away from the responsibilities of her new identity.
—One who wears the crown must bear its weight.
She closed her eyes, and her consciousness entered her mind. Countless points of light appeared in her mental sea, each representing a Zerg. The dense spots of light were like stars in the sky, flickering in various sizes.
To save mental power, she found only the largest and brightest ones. Her mental tentacles stretched out, sending the coordinates of Planet M95764 to them.
“I am here.”
Remaining E-grade Mental Power: 60%
…
Zerg Black Prison
From top to bottom, the danger level of the inmates gradually increases. In the bottom-most layer, where the security system is most advanced and the guarding most rigorous, only one Zerg was imprisoned.
Ferran. Former Commander of the Third Legion. Due to the lack of a Queen’s soothing, his mental power went into a violent frenzy, leading to indiscriminate attacks. After destroying three high-level planets, he was suppressed by two Zerg legions and imprisoned here.
The bottom of the Black Prison was a void of darkness, with countless cameras pointed at the figure in the center.
His head hung low, and slightly curly black hair masked his eerie features; only the lower half of his face was visible, covered by a metal muzzle. The man’s skin was a pale, bloodless white, and his physique was like that of an ancient Greek god—elegant yet radiating undeniable power.
His upper body was bare, and his arms were spread out, suspended in mid-air like a suffering Christ from mythology. Thick iron chains coiled tightly around his lower body like pythons, locking away any possibility of movement.
“The Queen is over there.” Ferran opened his crimson eyes and gazed deeply into the void.

First Military Academy: Prefect’s Lounge
“News of the King!” Sanjis opened his eyes in pleasant surprise, his tone exceptionally light.
He was so excited that he jumped up from the sofa. With a tuck of his flexible abdomen, his superb core strength allowed him to do a mid-air somersault. His swaying red hair was like dancing flames, and his exquisite face looked like a little prince from a fairy tale.
“Darn it, I really want to go find the King. I’m already SS-grade; that rule about minors not being able to leave the home planet is garbage.”
“Ahhh, I hope the Temple and the Legion hurry up. I want to see the Queen right now. I’m almost an adult; I’m definitely winning the Queen’s Guard election this year.” After the excitement, Sanjis sat back on the sofa, resting his head on his left hand and fantasizing. “I wonder what the Queen looks like…”
…
First Legion Command Ship
The figure in the holy priest robes jolted suddenly, his usually calm emerald eyes filled with excitement. “The Queen just contacted me. Gather doctors, nutritionists, and mental power counselors. Prepare all necessary living supplies for the Queen.”
Lucius raised his hand and entered the coordinates of M95764 into the light-computer. “Advance at maximum speed, regardless of the cost.”
…
“Now all I can do is wait for them to pick me up,” Su Lili murmured after sending the coordinates. She wanted to go out and see, but Su Lili shrank back; her OMEGA sense of shame held her back. “I can’t go streaking, no matter what.”
The first to arrive at M95764 was Zephyros.
The Queen’s sudden link caused even Zephyros’s bone wings to pause for a moment. After confirming the direction of M95764, Zephyros hurried toward the target at full speed.
As one of the galactic combat “ceilings,” his high-speed movement was difficult for even the highest-grade scanners to capture.
His originally neat tactical suit had been torn in several places by the storms during his high-speed transit. The prolonged full-power flight made his breathing ragged. Muscles rippled with every breath, and transparent sweat trailed down his neck like black pearls against his dark skin, eventually disappearing into the fabric.
Zephyros looked at the planet before him—barren, desolate, and gray. The land told an indisputable fact: this was a waste planet.
Dreading to think how much suffering the Queen might be enduring in such a place, Zephyros closed his eyes and extended his mental tentacles to search for her.
He found her— “In the core.”
With a determined look, Zephyros dived into the ground like an arrow released from a bow.
Boom… Boom… The sounds of explosions at the top of the cave grew closer; it seemed something massive was approaching.
After a violent tremor, the rock ceiling above was carved open, and a black figure flapped its bone wings as it flew in.
The pressure from a high-level species forced the Atan bugs to retreat, clearing an open space.
The newcomer wore a tight black tactical suit. He was tall, with sharp and deep facial features—a typical ALPHA look. As a premier OMEGA, Su Lili had seen many of the Empire’s top ALPHAs in her previous life. Most were extraordinarily handsome, but the male bug before her seemed to combine all their best features, appearing like a descending god.
In the cramped and airtight underground cave, even though the girl’s pheromones were faint and thin, they now filled the space.
Low-level Zerg have a degraded sense of smell and were not sensitive to this. But for a high-level Zerg with peak physical condition, their keen sense of smell let them perceive the unusual scent in the air immediately.
Fragrant. So fragrant.
A seductive female scent.
The air was filled with an unprecedented sweet fragrance—a faint scent that wasn’t overwhelming but could effortlessly stir the deepest desires in a Zerg’s heart.
He wanted to get closer. He wanted to possess.
Zerg are more cruel and bloodthirsty than wild beasts. The primitive bestiality in his genes called for him to drag the female before him back to his nest, to cover her in his own scent so that her eyes, heart, and body could only contain him.
Zephyros couldn’t help but take a deep breath. A man who was usually devoid of desire almost lost control.
But the mental power of the Zerg Queen mixed within the fragrance reminded him that the person before him was the newborn King.
The mental suppression of the royal bloodline held back his last shred of sanity, pinning him firmly to the spot.
She was not to be desecrated; she was not to be coveted.
She was the King, and he was but a subject. His duty was to be respectful, submissive, and useful to her.
The man flapped his wings and somehow stumbled a few steps in the air before managing to steady himself and land beside the white egg.
His dark skin gave him a wild charm, but his expression was respectful and focused. He hardly dared to look toward her. He folded his wings, knelt on one knee, placed his right fist over his left chest, and bowed low in a perfectly standard military salute.
“Zephyros, Commander of the Zerg Second Legion, pays his respects to you.”
Su Lili felt the familiar mental power radiating from him—ah, it was the big point of light she had linked with earlier. She didn’t expect him to arrive so quickly.
Obtained Card: Zephyros
As the man appeared, one of the cards in her mind floated out. The black silhouette faded, revealing a card face outlined in black and gold.
On the card, the man was dressed in an ascetic and solemn military uniform, kneeling on one knee. Long, brilliant gold aiguillettes hung from his shoulders, outlining his bulging pectoral muscles.
At the edge of the card, half of a magnificent chair encrusted with gems and layers upon layers of lace from a skirt were visible. A girl’s slender leg peeked out from the snow-white lace, stepping directly onto the man’s shoulder. A metal anklet left a mark on the man’s jawline.
But the man didn’t care at all. Under pale eyelashes, his golden eyes were focused intently on the girl. In one hand, he held an exquisite high-heeled shoe; the other hand reached toward the girl’s slender ankle. Against his dark, broad palm, the girl’s white foot looked like a finely carved piece of art.
Below the card was the man’s basic information:
-
Name: Zephyros
-
Race: Zerg
-
Physique: SSS-grade
-
Mental Power: S-grade
-
Favorability: ★★☆☆☆ (Common Friend)
-
Loyalty: ★★★★★ (Faithful unto Death)
Unlike Su Lili, Zephyros’s information table didn’t show health, but rather two bars: Favorability and Loyalty.
System: When both Favorability and Loyalty reach five stars, the card is considered fully unlocked.
The innate loyalty and trust the Zerg held for the Queen allowed Zephyros’s loyalty to start at full stars. Su Lili was very satisfied with this.
As for “Favorability,” it likely referred to his affection for her.
The ALPHAs who surrounded her in her previous life were like flies that couldn’t be driven away. The girl, who never once doubted her own likability, couldn’t help but curl her lips into a smile.
