The Omega Becomes The Zerg Queen - Chapter 2
Chapter 2: Rebirth
Did you all get that link just now? Heavens, it really is the Queen.
I never thought I’d see this in my lifetime QAQ. Where is the King? It sounds like she’s in danger.
Don’t even talk about it. Location: Military Academy. I’m in the classroom and the whole place has gone chaotic. Our Strategy professor didn’t even bother to turn off the light-projection screen—he just bolted home to grab his flyer to join the search party.
My brother is in the Legion. They’ve initiated Level 1 Combat Readiness immediately and are organizing search plans. Ahhh, I want to go so badly, but minors aren’t allowed to leave the home planet.
Wuu wuu, tell me about it. My parents won’t let me out, saying I’ll only cause trouble. But I can’t focus on anything at home. The King is calling for help and I can do nothing. I’m such a useless bug (darkly twisting and crawling).
T T Fellow “stuck-at-home” squad member here. To the person above: tell your brother to notify us the moment there’s news!
…
While the high-level species possessing advanced intellect gathered to discuss the source of the signal, the lower-level species with lesser intelligence had already begun spontaneously searching for the King’s whereabouts.
Where is the King…
The moment of the signal was too brief; furthermore, the King had not announced her specific coordinates. Without a direction, finding the King in the vastness of the universe based on a single signal was tens of thousands of times harder than finding a needle in a haystack.
But the King was calling for help. The King was in danger.
At the thought of that tender distress signal, the hearts of all Zerg felt as though they were being squeezed ruthlessly by an invisible hand.
They had to. They had to find the King as quickly as possible.
…
The Sacred Hall of the Zerg Home Planet
A tall figure stood silently in the great hall.
His hair was a pale golden hue, nearly white, shimmering with a moonlight-like luster. Two strands were gathered by hair rings, falling beside his ears. His emerald eyes were like quiet lakes under the moon, always rippling with a gentle warmth that gave others the illusion of being loved.
Perhaps aware of this, he wore a single-sided monocle. One side was silver metal, the exquisite craftsmanship making the frame glow brilliantly. The lens, polished clear as water, rested like an elegant butterfly on the bridge of his nose, masking the tenderness in his eyes. A slender chain trailed into his silk-like hair, adding a touch of scholarly refinement.
His long, snow-white priest robes trailed on the ground, adorned with complex golden patterns that signaled his unique status.
Lucius. High Priest and Archon of the Zerg, and Commander of the First Legion. Since the premature death of the previous Queen, he had managed all Zerg affairs. Sophisticated and possessing transcendent intelligence, he was hailed as the “Brain” of the Zerg.
“Lord Lucius, since receiving the Queen’s signal, all Legions have fully mobilized. We have deployed every available starship. Please provide search route instructions.” The adjutant, abandoning his usual poise, paced anxiously. “Since the birth of the Zerg, a Queen has never been born outside the Brood Mother. A newborn King is fragile and sensitive—this is the most vulnerable stage. Everyone… everyone is desperate.”
Lucius sighed. The link had been too short; he could only determine a general direction. “I have localized the signal to the border between the Zerg and the Federation in the Alpha Nebula. Send out the order: full martial law across the border. Conduct a carpet search. Ensure we find the King immediately.”
The howling wind whipped his robes. He turned and strode toward the lead ship.
“The Queen above all. Long live the Zerg.”
The guards and soldier bugs followed closely behind, their voices boiling with suppressed emotion.
“The Queen above all! Long live the Zerg!”
…
The Alpha System: Borderline
Every Federation soldier at the border currently shared one thought: “Damn it, why are these bugs attacking all of a sudden?”
Perhaps because they were closer to M95764, the Zerg at the border felt the Queen’s signal even more intensely. This made their desire to find her even more frantic.
The King is nearby. The King is in danger.
The aliens before them were a major obstacle to finding the King. Their existence might even threaten the King’s safety.
No risk to the King’s safety could be tolerated.
The low-level Zerg at the border, simple and irrational, designated the aliens as enemies and launched a suicidal offensive against the Federation. To kill all potential threats and then search for the King without distractions—this was now their highest priority.
Under the suicidal onslaught, the Federation army chose to cede the border line. Though they didn’t understand the situation, no race in the galaxy wanted to provoke a swarm of frenzied, suicidal Zerg.
In the grayish-white clouds of the Alpha System, a figure moved with agility.
The man had short white hair and bronze skin that glowed with health. He wore a black tactical suit; his broad shoulders and narrow waist were accentuated by black straps strained tight against his muscles. The bone wings—several meters long—on his back declared his status as a High-Level Zerg.
High-Level Zerg possessed appearances similar to humans but retained one characteristic of their original species.
As the Commander of the Second Legion, Zephyros guarded the Alpha System. Using his geographical advantage, he had locked onto the general coordinates the instant he received the signal.
Faster. Just a little faster. Get to the Queen’s side.
As one of the highest combat powers of the current galactic era, Zephyros chose to rely on his powerful physical body to tear through the vast nebula toward the border.
…
Planet M95764
The newborn body and mental sea could not support such a large-scale mental link. After sending the distress signal, Su Lili fell back into her egg and fainted.
Translucent fluid wrapped around her, and nutrients seeped into her body to repair her mental sea. The tingling sensation soon lulled her into a deep sleep.
In her dreams, notification messages flashed through her mind:
-
Detecting host meeting requirements…
-
Automatic binding in progress…
-
Binding progress: 10%… 30%… 70%… 100%
A sound like a firecracker exploded in Su Lili’s mind. She woke up just in time to see the final message.
-
Congratulations! The ‘Ascend the Throne’ System has been successfully bound.
“What is this?” Su Lili was full of questions.
-
Respected Host, hello. The ‘Ascend the Throne’ system is at your service. This system will help you become a qualified King of the Zerg.
-
System detection indicates that as a visitor from another world, you have become the newborn King of the Zerg…
This was a world with a galactic setting. Aside from humans, there were various alien races. Among the major powers, the Zerg were at the forefront—and that was the race Su Lili now belonged to.
The core of the Zerg was the Queen. All Zerg held the Queen’s orders as the highest priority, offering absolute loyalty and priding themselves on sacrificing everything for her.
Simultaneously, every Zerg was a natural-born warrior. The absolute obedience of low-level Zerg to high-level Zerg made their army invincible. In the galaxy, they were the enemy no one wanted to face—the most terrifying invaders.
But this power was a double-edged sword. The innate violent genes in their blood tortured the Zerg. They used war and slaughter to alleviate the pain, but this was only a temporary fix. Only the Queen’s mental power could fundamentally soothe these violent genes.
The bad news: she was in a different world and had become a bug.
The good news: she was the newborn Queen, the top of the food chain.
Su Lili carefully digested the information. A virtual control panel expanded before her eyes.
| Attribute | Data |
| Name | Su Lili |
| Race | Zerg Queen / OMEGA |
| Physique | Grade E (Regrettably, the worst in the entire Zerg race) |
| Mental Power | Grade SSS (Congratulations, your power is unrivaled) |
| Health | 10% (Danger: Risk of death at any moment) |
The health bar was bolded and red, looking as if it were dripping blood.
“What’s going on?” Su Lili asked nervously.
[System: SSS-grade mental power requires at least an S-grade physique. As an OMEGA, the host’s body is too fragile to contain the massive mental power inherent to a Zerg Queen. There is a risk of spontaneous combustion at any time. Your E-grade physique can only safely use E-grade mental power.]
Below, a task panel floated up.
Main Quest: Ascend the Throne (5/100)
-
Description: The Zerg have waited two hundred years for a new King. Can you, a visitor from another world, bear the crown? Prove your ability to be the Zerg’s rightful Queen.
-
Reward: One Wish.
Main Quest: Beneath the Throne
-
Description: The road to the throne is long, but you are not alone. A great King never walks alone. Recruit the powerful warriors of the Zerg; they shall be your sharpest blades and strongest shields.
-
Reward: For every character card unlocked, receive one corresponding skill card and one Physique Enhancement Potion.
Below the tasks were several dark gray rectangular cards. The faces of the cards were black silhouettes, their features indiscernible.
Having been raised as a pampered OMEGA, Su Lili had never faced such problems. She frowned, struggling to process the situation. “How do I unlock them?”
System: When you meet the owner of the card, the face will be revealed. You will know then.
Fine. Su Lili pouted.
In short, the most urgent matter was to unlock characters, complete tasks, and get those Physique Enhancement Potions to stay alive.
