The Omega Becomes The Zerg Queen - Chapter 18
Chapter 18: Licking the Screen
Veins bulged on his neck and forehead from the sheer effort he was exerting. As his feelings of shame became palpable, his entire face flushed a deep, vivid red. Against his deathly pale skin, it was incredibly conspicuous.
“Please don’t rush, it’s alright. Take your time,” Su Lili said.
Once he blushed, the Moth-man seemed to break out of that doll-like, inorganic state. Against the crimson flush, his jet-black eyes revealed a hint of endearing blankness. Seeing his struggle, Su Lili comforted him softly.
Hearing her voice, the Moth-man’s face grew even redder. The thin red flush spread beyond his cheeks to the corners of his eyes and the tip of his nose. Three minutes would pass quickly; his time was running out.
Ah. I want to speak. I want to tell the King my name.
But the more anxious he became, the tighter his vocal cords grew. The guttural “clucking” sounds continued in his throat, but he couldn’t piece together a single distinct syllable. Water pooled in his massive black pupils, and he looked as though he might burst into tears at any moment. His delicate, beautiful face looked like a porcelain doll being bullied to the point of crying.
In his desperation, Yessar’s entire body took on a pinkish hue. His enlarged black pupils flickered as he looked shyly at the camera, the feathery antennae atop his head twitching uncontrollably. At the very last second before the call disconnected, the tips of his antennae curved inward, meeting to form a perfect heart shape.

“What a strange bug,” Su Lili murmured to herself, wrinkling her nose. “But… he seems a bit cute.”
“Alright, let’s see who the final lucky winner is.” Su Lili’s voice carried a hint of a smile, her eyes curving into crescent moons.
The sight of the Queen’s suppressed laughter prompted the Zerg in the live stream to forgive the Moth-man’s “rudeness”—to be able to entertain the King was his blessing! Though they were green with envy, the King’s happiness was paramount.
After a burst of virtual confetti, the colorful gift box was opened once more. Every Zerg in the galaxy stared unblinkingly at the screen, praying to catch this final lucky train.
But what appeared this time was not what they expected.
Unlike the previous winners, no figure appeared when the third connection was established. The camera, watched by the entire Zerg race, was pointed at a desolate, decaying wasteland. There was no light source; both sky and ground were a deathly, silent dark gray, as if everything in that space had been incinerated, leaving a thick layer of ash behind. Only the sharp, rasping sound of the wind could be heard.
Comment: What is this? Comment: Is someone playing games? Comment: Goddammit, why do these people get so lucky and then don’t even show their faces? Comment: If no one’s there, redraw! Comment: Redraw! Comment: Redraw!
The Zerg in the comments were furious—not at the Queen, of course, but at this incredibly perfunctory lucky winner. They thought the previous mute moth was the limit, but this person hadn’t even shown up. Did the odds of winning increase the weirder you acted? Many Zerg actually began to wonder if they should adopt strange personas to increase their chances.
To see more clearly, Su Lili leaned toward the lens. Her delicate, pale face nearly occupied the entire frame. The flickering light from the crystal lamps cast soft shadows of her lashes onto the viewers’ hearts. She frowned slightly, puzzled.
“Hello? Is anyone there?” she asked. “If no one is there, the result will be void, and I’ll draw again.”
Comment: Critical hit of beauty from the King. Comment: MY KING!!!! Comment: LICK LICK LICK LICK!
The moment her face was magnified on the screen, the camera on the other side moved.
The previously stable shot suddenly lurched violently. After several tremors, the device seemed to be knocked to the ground, shifting the perspective from eye-level to the floor. What appeared in the frame, slowly slithering across the grayish-white ground, was a hideous, ferocious stinger tail.
Unlike the stingers most Scorpion-types chose to retain, this one was more brutal and primitive. The tail was massive; the base was nearly as thick as an adult male Zerg’s thigh. Its dark, armored shell was covered in tiny barbs and shimmered with an eerie purple luster.
He’s very healthy. That was the collective thought of the Zerg watching. This unknown winner possessed a stinger that looked both healthy and terrifyingly beautiful.
Comment: Which Scorpion tribe is this? Anyone claim him? Comment: …Honestly, as a Zerg Xenology student, I don’t think any known Scorpion tribe has a tail like that. Comment: Agreed. Normal stingers have smooth armor, and the tip curves up to store venom. This thing is huge, covered in barbs, and the tip is a double-edged scythe shape. The bite force must be insane. Comment: …It doesn’t look like a Zerg. It looks more like… well, it’s hard to say QAQ. Comment: It looks like an Abnormal Beast tail. Those cosmic scum come in all sorts of freaky shapes.
As if to verify their theories, the camera moved again. Structures also covered in barbed armor appeared at the edges of the frame—it seemed the entity was using its “hands” to lift the camera back up.
Finally, the lens focused on his face.
It was a face that belonged neither to the Zerg nor to humans. In fact, it seemed no such race had ever been heard of in the known universe. One had to admit he possessed a wild, primitive beauty that defied standard Zerg aesthetics—an almost demonic allure, like a monster stepped out of hell.
He had long, curling, deep-purple hair like seaweed and deep-purple slit pupils. Eerie purple-black scales crawled from his forehead down his high bridge, leaving only a delicate chin and thin, deep-red lips visible.
He opened his mouth, and meaningless murmurs rumbled in his throat: “Sss—Sssss——”
Then, he flicked out a long, forked tongue like a serpent’s and, with extreme seriousness…
Licked the screen.
Comment: THIS!!! Comment: He’s actually getting off on this? Comment: Is he secretly imagining he’s licking the King through the screen? Comment: Get out! Monsters get out of the Zerg live stream! Waaaah, I won’t admit I’m incredibly jealous. Comment: Why him. Comment: WHY HIM.
Su Lili froze in front of the camera. Unlike the other Zerg, the “hissing” sounds that seemed meaningless to others were crystal clear in her ears. Like a lover’s whisper encrypted for the world but specifically decoded for her.
