The Omega Becomes The Zerg Queen - Chapter 16
Chapter 16: Live Stream
The Queen’s inquiry pulled Phelan back to his senses. He instantly lowered his head and shifted his body to the right, using the draping hem of his clothes to block his lower abdomen, ensuring the King could not see any telltale signs.
Only his voice carried a hint of suppressed hoarseness. “I am fine, my King.”
“I just accidentally bumped into the high heels.”
“My apologies.”
Su Lili felt a bit embarrassed. Was she being a little too much? Although Phelan’s loyalty was lacking, he was, after all, the Third Legion Commander. To have him do something like this—was it too humiliating?
She glanced at the black high heels held in the young man’s hand, then tapped her porcelain-white toes. “Let’s go with this pair.”
Phelan gave a low “mm” in response.
His long, large hands cradled the King’s slender ankle, respectfully putting the shoes on her.
Su Lili propped her chin on her hand, watching the crown of the man’s head as he bowed obediently. She asked the system, “He looks… actually quite well-behaved.”
…
The system popped up another string of ellipses.
Perhaps his ambition is not what you think it is.
“?” What did that mean?
As Su Lili pondered the system’s words, her attention was caught by Zephyros stepping forward.
The man, who usually dressed simply, had changed into a black and gold military ceremonial uniform today. The slim-fit uniform was stretched tight by his muscles; dark gold aiguillettes hung from his shoulder, and the medals on his chest were exaggerated in number.
His wild, arrogant bone wings were tucked behind his back. Beneath his short white hair was a pair of brilliant golden phoenix eyes. His deep features looked somewhat cold, and his dark skin shimmered with a healthy luster.
With an appearance overflowing with wildness paired with a cold, ascetic expression, it was no wonder those haughty females were willing to take the initiative to show him favor.
In his gloved palm, he held a silver tray. On a white silk lining lay a set of pigeon-blood red gemstone jewelry. Even more dazzling than the jewelry was the golden crown at the center.
The main body of the thorn-shaped crown was made of pale gold precious metal, the base linked by overlapping circles composed of pavé diamonds. In the front of the crown were three white gemstones the size of pigeon eggs, symbolizing the three major legions of the Zerg. In the middle of the white stones was a massive red diamond, representing the incomparably noble Her Majesty the Queen.
Aside from these, the intersecting thorn branches of the crown were also dotted with various jewels, reflecting shimmering waves of light under the lamps, utterly radiant.
“Would you like to try it first, my King?”
Su Lili gave him a slight nod.
Zephyros moved gently as he placed the crown on the Queen’s head, then carefully brought over a mirror.
The brilliant, magnificent crown sat upon the girl’s head as if it were born there. Su Lili stared blankly at her reflection; the feeling was both strange and familiar.
Black hair, snowy skin, red lips—her exquisite face carried a hint of majesty. Under the luxurious crown, the girl looked awe-inspiring and inviolable.
The OMEGA she once was had drifted further and further away, and a brand-new world was slowly pulling back its curtain for her.
Cellar and Damian had made one wrong move, and it had led to more. Having hesitated for just a moment, the King was now surrounded by this group of deep-scheming males. They grit their teeth and thought for a long time before finally finding their place through the gaps.
One on each side, they picked up the young King’s slender, soft hands. “My King, please allow us to perform a hand treatment for you.”
6:30 PM.
Zerg throughout the galaxy were sitting upright in their homes, guarding their Star-Brains, eagerly awaiting the start of the Queen’s broadcast.
I can’t take it anymore! The anxiety is clawing at my heart!
Ugh, still half an hour left. How am I supposed to survive these thirty minutes, O Great Insect God?
The Queen… hehe… the Queen…
I specifically bought this high-priced formal suit; it will definitely catch the Queen’s eye. Selfie
How much did the person above drink? Dreaming this early?
Look at mine. Selfie
Bored Zerg discussed passionately on the forums, taking turns showing off their meticulously prepared looks. It had to be said that as a top-tier interstellar race, these cruel, bloodthirsty bugs whose brains were usually only filled with combat were actually quite visually pleasing after dressing up.
Until someone replied below:
Better to wear nothing. Selfie
The OP of this post was bare-chested, striking a specific pose. His carefully maintained pectoral and abdominal muscles were sharply defined under the light.
You…
You…
I’ve learned something. Thank you, Teacher!
Upstairs?!
8:00 PM. The live stream began on time.
The location was the main hall of the Zerg Temple. That hall, familiar to every Zerg, had a new look today. The decorations and furnishings were luxurious to the extreme; treasures famous throughout the Zerg race and the galaxy could be seen everywhere.
And placed at the very center of the treasures was a white, crystalline, semi-open eggshell.
?
What is that?
The eggshell certainly looked extraordinary, but to these Zerg who came for the Queen, no matter how beautiful an eggshell was, it was still just an eggshell. What was the big deal?
It wasn’t until the bullet screen started filling with comments from the soldiers who had gone to fetch the King that the others realized—this was the Royal Egg that had nurtured the Queen.
Such a rounded egg shape~
Such a pure white color~
Overwhelming barrages of praise swept through the chat room. Even the jagged opening was hailed as a top-tier work of art comparable to the Venus de Milo, worthy of being passed down to the next era.
The camera was also quite savvy, circling the eggshell several times to give the Zerg plenty of time for screenshots. But as time passed, the Zerg in the chat became impatient.
Where is the King?
Why hasn’t the King appeared yet?
The Royal Egg was nice, but the King was more important.
“Are you ready, Your Majesty?”
Lucius and Zephyros stood half a step behind Su Lili, seriously smoothing out the floor-length hem of her gown. Tens of crystal chandeliers on the ceiling of the main hall illuminated the interior like daylight. Su Lili rubbed the slight sweat from her palms, took a deep breath, and slowly walked into the center of the light.
After three hundred years of absence, the Queen whom the Zerg had anticipated for three centuries finally met her subjects.
The girl on the screen was exactly as the rumors described, with seaweed-like black hair and black eyes more deep and charming than the universe. Her exquisite features appeared slightly youthful, but her firm, cold gaze and upright posture already revealed the majesty belonging to a King.
The chat screen went blank for about two or three minutes.
Su Lili arched an eyebrow, her clear eyes looking at the camera with a hint of curiosity.
AAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!
The King is so beautiful!
The King is so cute!!!! Teehee, the King is looking at me!!!
King broadcasts, King is good; Zerg doesn’t post chat, Zerg is bad!
King good, Zerg bad!
Like a counterattack, even more chat messages flooded in than before, causing the Zerg’s top-tier interstellar network technology to lag for a moment.
“Hello, my subjects.”
Su Lili gave a small smile to the camera.
“I am Su Lili.”
Su Lili—that was the King’s name. The Zerg throughout the galaxy silently recited this name in unison. In the Zerg Temple, she was unique, with no one to be compared to.
