The Omega Becomes The Zerg Queen - Chapter 1
Chapter 1: Breaking the Shell
M95764 is a gray planet located on the border between the Alpha Galaxy Federation and the Zerg territory.
Originally, it belonged to the Zerg Second Legion. However, with the sudden passing of the previous Zerg Queen, the entire race fell into chaos. This planet, situated at the edge of their territory, was left unattended and gradually became desolate.
The surface of M95764, surrounded by perpetual storms, shows no signs of vegetation or water. The ground is entirely covered by hard gray rock and red soil crust. As far as the eye can see, there is no trace of biological life. The air echoes with wind that is sometimes sharp and sometimes hoarse, making the land feel even more barren and lonely.
The only creatures still living on the planet are the Great Strength Zerg, who once handled the planet’s mining and transport. Now, as resources have dried up, they too are preparing to evacuate.
—But there is one last place left unexplored: The Planet’s Core.
A few days ago, a special mental pulse emanated from the core, drawing them in. This caught the attention of the Great Strength Zerg.
Their thick, cold carapaces reflected a metallic luster, and their streamlined bodies allowed them to traverse underground crevices with ease. Their forearms were massive pincers lined with sharp serrations, perfect for gripping—or crushing—any prey. The compound eyes atop their heads provided a 360-degree view of their surroundings, glowing with a faint, eerie blue light in the darkness, flickering mechanically in a way that would make anyone shudder.
These iron-blooded monsters moved through the earth in a silent, orderly fashion. A primal instinct guided them from all directions toward a single point.
Closer! Even closer!
The instinct rooted in their blood urged them on, reminding them that an incredibly important existence lay just ahead. Finally, they discovered their target.
In a narrow, dark rocky crevice deep underground sat a crystal-clear giant egg.
The egg was pure white, covered in mysterious silver patterns that shimmered like starlight. It emitted a soft, milky-white halo—sacred and beautiful.
The low-intelligence Great Strength Zerg could not yet form complete sentences, but their biological instincts screamed the importance of the object before them.
“The Supreme…” “The Noble…” “King (Queen).”
Their compound eyes flickered wildly. They buzzed their wing covers to exchange information. This object was what they must protect even at the cost of their lives—the Queen who had not appeared for hundreds of years, finally born.
The Queen.
The largest and strongest of them moved forward a few steps, patrolling the area around the egg.
“Confirm.” “Environment.” “Safe.”
His wing covers buzzed incessantly. As low-level Zerg, they had not evolved mental tentacles yet, so they could only use this primitive method to try and communicate with the Queen. But the Queen gave no response.
The lead Zerg paced back and forth, its massive pincers waving helplessly in the air. It wanted to get closer to confirm the Queen’s presence and health, yet it feared being offensive. Ultimately, concern for the Queen won out.
The leader carefully retracted its serrated teeth and pincers, hiding every sharp, dangerous part of its body. With a gentleness that defied its massive size, it crept toward the giant egg and pressed its antennae against it.
A trace of warm, inclusive mental power leaked from the shell. The flickering eyes of the Zerg froze—much like a human’s pupils dilating in surprise. The entire creature became momentarily paralyzed with awe.
After sensing the situation inside, the Zerg retreated, maintaining a distance that allowed it to protect the egg immediately without being intrusive.
“Queen.” “Newborn.” “Slumbering.”
It waved its antennae to transmit the message to the others.
“Protect.” “Wait.”
Receiving the command, the Zerg underground settled into layers, silently surrounding the white egg from the inside out. Their gaze remained fixed on the egg, unwilling to look away, while staying alert. Any creature attempting to approach would be instantly locked onto; if deemed a threat, they would face a ruthless attack. Faced with hundreds of battle-ready Great Strength Zerg, even the Federation’s elite mecha pilots would be torn to shreds before they could make a move.
Protecting the Queen’s safety and awaiting her birth was now their highest directive.
…
Su Lili woke up in total darkness.
She was soaked in a milky-white, translucent fluid. Her body felt soft and weak, her limbs feeling as if they were newly assembled and lacked strength. It felt as though she had been reborn and regrown; her mind was a whirlwind of confusion.
On Earth (Blue Star), Omegas were rare, making up only 0.01% of the population. From birth, Su Lili had been sent to the Omega Protection Association for care and education. At eighteen, she was found to have S-Class Pheromones, capable of soothing Alphas of any rank, making her the Empire’s most coveted “Star Omega.”
Aristocrats, wealthy merchants, and royalty spent fortunes on charity just for a chance to meet her. Imperial law mandated that an Omega must pair with an Alpha. Because of her uniqueness, the Association gave her the right to choose, but this was also a shackle—the Empire would never allow such elite genes to go to waste.
Her destiny was to pick one suitor, marry, and bear as many offspring as possible. But Su Lili refused. She disliked Alphas; she found them too domineering, their possessive and controlling gazes making her feel oppressed and impatient.
That day, after a huge argument with her godfather, she went to her room and cried herself to sleep. She opened her eyes to find herself here, floating in translucent slime.
What is going on?
Su Lili tried to open her mouth and blew a bubble. She could actually breathe in this fluid? She blinked, slowly processing the situation. Her fair hands felt around, discovering she was enclosed in a sealed space with a tough outer shell.
A giant, rounded, sealed space… a naked lifeform floating in fluid…
Excluding all impossibilities, the remaining truth—no matter how absurd—was the reality: She was in an egg, and she was the new life being born from it.
Even if the fluid felt incredibly comfortable, giving her the urge to fall back asleep, it didn’t change the bizarre fact that she was in an egg! The girl, raised in the “greenhouse” of the Omega Protection Association, found this grotesque.
What have I turned into?
Su Lili began to inspect herself. Head, limbs—nothing extra seemed to have grown. Her body maintained its human form. She felt the gland on the side of her neck; it was still there, emitting her S-Class pheromones, though the scent was much lighter than before, similar to when she was a minor.
On her left ring finger was a familiar small bump—a red mole she’d had since childhood.
In short, it was still her body, but seemingly a version with “ten layers of beauty filters” added. As a top Omega, Su Lili was already a rare beauty, but now every inch of her felt like a gift from the Creator. Below her slender neck were exquisite collarbones; her chest was curvaceous, her waist tiny, and her skin delicate. Her entire body was like a summer peach—juicy, plump, and sweet.
The familiar body gave her a bit of confidence. Su Lili sighed in relief, finding the weird environment slightly more bearable. Not knowing the situation outside, she didn’t dare call for help. She simply reached out to stroke the shell. Her hands were elegant, her fingers long like polished artwork, appearing to glow in the dark.
The shell was intact. She must be the lifeform this egg was meant to nurture. But staying in an egg wasn’t a long-term solution; she had to find a way out.
Su Lili adjusted her position and tapped lightly on the shell above her head. Tap, tap. The sound was crisp. It seemed like it would break if she used a bit more force and kept at it. Tap-tap, tap-tap…
She stabilized herself and kept knocking.
Outside, the Zerg’s attention was instantly captured by the first tap. Hundreds of pairs of compound eyes stopped moving and locked onto the white egg.
“CRACK.”
With the sound of shattering, Su Lili managed to knock a palm-sized hole in the top of the egg. It was very dark outside. She peeked through the hole; the ceiling and walls were dark rock, with scattered minerals reflecting faint light.
Confirming the environment was “safe,” Su Lili continued to widen the hole. After a few more pieces of shell fell away, the opening was large enough for her to poke her torso out.
It’s very quiet… there shouldn’t be anyone else, right?
After a moment of preparation, she cautiously poked her head out to observe. As her vision cleared from the darkness, she almost lost the ability to think. She wished she could glue the eggshells back together immediately.
There were indeed no “people,” but the reality was far more terrifying!
Anyone would feel fear when facing creatures several times their own size—let alone a swarm of monsters!
The monsters before her looked like giant ladybugs with crab-like pincers. They were several times larger than Su Lili. Their wing covers were smooth, but their pincers and legs were covered in sharp serrations and hooks. They were pitch black, nearly merging with the darkness, except for their eyes which flickered with a cold blue light.
The swarm had been surrounding the egg. As she poked her head out, the monsters began to converge toward the center. Their countless compound eyes flickered wildly like ghostly fires.
For a moment, the only sounds were the shasha of the monsters’ legs moving and the increasingly violent thumping of the girl’s heart.
An Omega raised in a greenhouse had never seen anything like this. The Omega Academy never taught them how to handle a “spawn-kill” scenario.
What kind of death-start is this?
Su Lili’s mind raced. She didn’t know if she should abandon the egg and run or shrink back inside. But looking at the serrated pincers, she knew she wouldn’t survive a single round either way.
Ultimately, she didn’t run. Covering her naked body, the girl thought: If I’m going to die, I want to die with a little dignity.
Anxiety, unease, fear, and despair. Negative emotions radiated from the girl. The surrounding Great Strength Zerg keenly sensed the Queen’s distress.
The Queen needs help.
The strongest Zerg closest to the egg anxiously waved their forearms and rushed toward the center.
In the gloomy, dark environment, the unknown terrifying monsters waved their giant pincers and charged at her. It looked as if they were going to tear her apart in the next second.
I’m going to be eaten.
Intense terror swept over her. Su Lili’s body went rigid, like a stone. What do I do? What do I do? A young Omega transmigrates and gets killed immediately?
…No, I don’t want to die. Anyone… is there anyone who can save me!
The girl’s expression was one of pure horror as she screamed silently. Under the crisis, her mental focus reached a peak, and the mental vortex in her mind spun rapidly.
“HELP—”
As her fear deepened, her heart’s cry manifested. Countless slender mental tentacles erupted from the vortex, spreading out from Su Lili in all directions.
Simultaneously, Zerg scattered across the galaxy all received a strange distress signal.
A signal that had suddenly appeared after hundreds of years—the supreme, tender signal of the Queen.
The Queen is calling for help.
The entire Zerg race erupted into a frenzy.
