The Noble Lady Without Magic Aims to Become an Adventurer! - Chapter 95
We arrived at Yele-senpai’s research lab.
As always, it was impeccably organized.
After sharing some tea with Yele-senpai, we headed to the guild to report the completion of our mission and receive our reward.
Following that, I accompanied Arnold-senpai to his lab to help process the wyverns. The magic stones we retrieved seemed to be of excellent quality. Half of the eggs were sold to the guild, while the other half were donated to the knights.
Were they planning to form a wyvern division? More likely, the eggs would end up as food for the knights instead.
Since wyvern meat isn’t suitable for consumption, it was destined to be incinerated. However, the claws, fangs, and especially the wing membranes were valuable materials for alchemy. As we carefully peeled the membranes, Arnold-senpai and I chatted.
“Arnold-senpai, is there any way to improve the accuracy of Wind Shot at longer distances? My aim seems to drop the further away the target is.”
“Accuracy comes with practice, but increasing the range is definitely possible,” he replied thoughtfully.
“For example, we could try attaching the spell to a stone or iron ball and using it as a projectile. While the wind loses momentum, the stone retains the force imparted by the wind, so the stronger the spell, the further it could fly. Once my current research is done, I’ll create a prototype for us to test.”
“I look forward to the prototype!”
After finishing the wyvern processing, Arnold-senpai gave me a gift as thanks for helping. It was a brooch-like piece crafted from a magic stone.
The brooch had an enchantment for impact mitigation, and the stone itself was a polished, elegant purple gem that looked like a fine piece of jewelry. Its quality and appearance were so exquisite that it could easily be mistaken for a priceless gemstone.
Low-grade magic stones typically have murky colors, while high-grade ones become more transparent as their rank increases.
Legendary magical beasts supposedly produce magic stones that outshine gemstones in brilliance and durability—but that’s just what I’ve heard.
After returning home, I spent the rest of the day relaxing. It’s important to recharge and not carry fatigue into work.
Terra had said he’d return two months before entering the academy, but in the end, he came back only two weeks prior. He had grown noticeably stronger, much to Father’s surprise—though in a good way.
Life in the village seemed to have toughened his spirit, and he now carried himself with the confidence of someone ready to act as the lord’s deputy.
After Terra returned, he became busy preparing new clothes, making rounds as the heir apparent to the marquisate, and attending tea parties.
Our family made it a point to share dinner together every evening. Conversations ranged from village life and magical beasts to plans for the future. These moments of being together as a family, however brief, were something I came to cherish deeply.
Terra had decided to join the civil department at the academy. Though he wouldn’t become a knight, he continued his training at home.
As for Reko, he returned to the capital with Terra. Before leaving on my adventure with Professor Revine, I invited Reko to join us, but he declined.
“I’ve saved enough money, so I’ll be staying in the capital for a while. Besides, there are plenty of women waiting for me here,” he said with his usual bravado.
Despite his words, it seemed Reco planned to stick close to Terra.
And so, the graduation ceremony finally arrived.
Early that morning, Fars returned to our estate. It had been a while since I’d seen him, and he looked more refined and mature.
“Fars, welcome home. I’ve been waiting for you,” I greeted him warmly.
“My lady, I’ve returned,” Fars replied with a respectful bow.
He was dressed in uniform, reporting to Otto about recent events. Both Otto and Father praised him for his efforts.
For the occasion, Fars shifted into his old “attendant mode,” walking behind me and boarding the carriage with me. Inside, we caught up on the past few months.
Apparently, Fars had learned about his true father, and the man had realized Fars might be his son. The situation sounded complicated, but Fars handled it gracefully.
I decided not to pry further; some things are better left undisturbed.
When we arrived at the academy gates, nostalgia washed over me. It had been so long since I last passed through these gates. I waved and smiled at my classmates as we headed toward the ceremony hall.
The ceremony itself was brief. The headmaster offered his congratulations, and Prince Sherman delivered a speech on behalf of the graduates.
Afterward, everyone hurried off to prepare for the graduation party—the true highlight of the day.
Back at the estate, the maids and attendants wasted no time getting everything ready for the party. Since Fars was a man, his preparations were minimal, so he likely relaxed in the servant’s lounge.
Meanwhile, I was whisked away by Anna. My preparations began with a bath, followed by a massage, dressing, makeup, and hairstyling. The maids moved with such precision that I was already feeling exhausted by the end of it.
I may have plenty of stamina, but this sort of thing is a different beast entirely. I wasn’t used to such elaborate preparations, which only made Anna and the others more determined to make me look my best.
“You’re ready, my lady. Perfect. There isn’t a beauty in the world who could compare to you,” Anna declared, brimming with pride.
I took the mirror she handed me and gazed at my reflection. The face staring back at me was stunning.
“Anna… Is this really me?”
“Indeed, my lady. When Lady Lydia visited recently, she offered some guidance. I’ve always strived to bring out your beauty, but Lady Lydia showed me a new perspective.”
Anna launched into an enthusiastic explanation, clearly inspired by Lydia’s advice. I made a mental note to thank Lydia later.
Just then, Otto appeared, announcing that it was time. He informed me that Father, Fars, and Terra were waiting in the foyer.
Standing up, I hurried toward the foyer, only to be startled by Anna’s admonition from behind.
“My lady, slow down! Move with grace and elegance!”
When I arrived at the foyer, I found Father, Fars, and Terra waiting in their formal attire.
“Sister Marloa! You look absolutely stunning! I wish I could go with you,” Terra said, his eyes shining.
“Thank you, Terra. Be good while I’m gone, alright? Should I bring you back a souvenir?”
“Sister, I’m not a child anymore,” Terra replied with a small pout.
I gave him a quick hug before turning to Father.
“Marloa, you look radiant. You’re my pride and joy,” Father said warmly.
“Father… Thank you for everything. I’ve finally graduated,” I replied, my voice filled with emotion.
“Congratulations. Let’s head out,” he said, offering his arm.
Fars stepped forward with a playful smile. “The moon and stars themselves will envy your beauty tonight, my lady. May I have the honor of escorting you?”
“Fars, you’re as dramatic as ever. I’ll leave it to you,” I said, placing my hand in his.
“Have a wonderful time, Sister,” Terra called out as we climbed into the carriage.
