The Movie Queen’s Charming Little Wife: Feigning Amnesia Online - Chapter 3
Chapter 3
Fifteen minutes later.
Lin Mo sat on the bed, her body stiff. Her two legs were like a pair of fair telephone poles, sticking straight out toward the edge of the bed.
“You… let me out…”
Her voice was already hoarse from screaming. She had long since given up hope, uttering the plea only out of habit.
Xue Luhe stood before her, holding a box of medicine, watching her silently.
Lin Mo had the look of a “girl next door” beauty. Her nose and mouth were relatively small, but her eyes were round, almond-shaped “apricot eyes.”
The former Lin Mo loved heavy smoky makeup to enlarge her eyes, dressing herself in a mature nightclub style. Her gaze had always been filled with a sense of shrewd calculation. Now, Lin Mo wore no makeup; her eyes were slightly red, her cheeks were a soft pink, and she pleaded in a raspy voice. It was a look that would make most people’s hearts melt. Anyone with weaker willpower would have surrendered long ago.
Xue Luhe, however, remained completely unmoved. Her lips were pressed tight as she crouched down, reached out, and grabbed Lin Mo’s leg!
“Ah! What are you doing! Ow!”
The cold hand gripped her ankle, which was so painful it felt burning hot. Lin Mo flinched back in terror, her legs trembling. The sudden movement aggravated the injury, and she let out a strange yelp of pain.
Xue Luhe held her ankle firmly with one hand while the other pressed the nozzle of a spray bottle. A semi-transparent mist sprayed heavily onto the swollen wound.
When the medicine first hit her skin, it felt icy and quite comfortable. Lin Mo couldn’t help but curl her toes, her calf twitching slightly.
Immediately, she felt Xue Luhe’s hand tighten and then relax, as if warning her not to move.
Lin Mo instantly forced herself to be still, not allowing even a single muscle to twitch. Who knew if the pervert in front of her would give her another lash?
Speaking of which, what kind of god-forsaken book was this? It wasn’t enough for the villain to be a pervert; she actually used a whip as a weapon. What style was this? Retro? Effeminate? Tacky-cool? Flashy?
Lin Mo tried to distance herself by letting her thoughts wander, trying not to focus on the strange sensation on her ankle.
The medicine on her foot quickly began to heat up. Gradually, the burning sensation masked the pain of the wound itself, as if it were dismantling every cell from the inside out.
“It hurts…”
Lin Mo couldn’t hold it in. She bit her lip, her eyes brimming with tears. With her red, “rabbit-like” eyes, she whimpered pitifully to Xue Luhe.
“Remember this pain. You deserve it.”
Xue Luhe’s tone was flat and devoid of emotion. Her hands didn’t stop. After spraying the medicine, she pulled out a stack of gauze and wrapped it several times around Lin Mo’s injury.
“Waaaah… I don’t know anything, how can you say I deserve it…”
Lin Mo took the opportunity to resume her “amnesia” performance. She didn’t dare stop now. She finally understood the true meaning of “riding a tiger and being unable to dismount.”
Once a lie is told, it must be supported by countless other lies. As Lin Mo performed, she secretly cheered herself on: Go, go! I can do this!
Even though the person in front of her was an internationally recognized, naturally gifted Best Actress with top-tier acting skills and likely a very sharp eye…
But! But she, Lin Mo, had her own advantages! At least she excelled at being natural and had first-class self-hypnosis skills. As long as she believed her own amnesia, she could surely make others believe it too!
Even if this was a 5S-class “Mission Impossible,” she would complete it successfully!
By the time Lin Mo finished her internal pep talk, Xue Luhe had finished the bandaging. She picked up the medicine bottle and gauze and left the room.
Lin Mo immediately scrambled up. Holding her foot that was wrapped like a giant dumpling, she used the table and the walls for support, hopping on one leg toward the door.
She reached out and turned the handle gently. With a faint click, the door opened without any obstruction.
“She didn’t lock it with a key?”
Lin Mo muttered to herself, poking her head out to look around.
It was a bit pathetic; this was the first time since arriving in this world that she had seen the corridor outside the room.
The corridor itself wasn’t much to look at. What Lin Mo noticed were the stairs and the small elevator shaft nearby.
She peeked out cautiously, gripping the doorframe and hopping a few times on her bare feet, leaving footprints on the polished walnut floor. She hurried to the stairs and moved bit by bit, descending one step at a time.
This villa had a high ceiling in the center that reached up to the third floor. Standing on the third-floor landing, one could see the layout of the entire house. However, there were a few hidden rooms that Lin Mo couldn’t quite figure out.
An escape route quickly formed in her mind. Lin Mo stretched her head forward, trying to see what those obscured rooms were, while attempting to go down another floor.
Suddenly, she slipped. Her heart skipped a beat, and she grabbed the stair railing tightly. She didn’t fall, but the fright left her gasping for breath, her legs feeling weak and numb.
She took several deep breaths. Once her heart settled, she continued to observe the location of the villa’s main entrance and the smart lock on the door. It didn’t look like an impossible problem.
The entire villa was magnificently decorated, looking better than many high-end villas Lin Mo had seen online in her previous life. But strangely, in such a large house, there was no sound of other people. It was eerily quiet.
Even in the gardens surrounding the villa, there was no sound of birds or insects. There was no sign of life.
Does this Xue Luhe have no servants at all? What happened to the mandatory gardener, butler, maids, and chef for a CEO novel?
“This place is so big… does she clean it all by herself? Does she cook her own food too? Pfft!”
Leaning against the stairs, Lin Mo accidentally let her thoughts slip out loud. She imagined Xue Luhe wearing an apron and stir-frying in the kitchen…
No, that was hilarious. The contrast was too much!
Fearing her laughter would be heard, Lin Mo covered her mouth, her body vibrating with suppressed giggles against the railing.
“Heh…”
In the vast, empty hall, a faint, lingering chuckle suddenly drifted up—like a devil’s whisper hovering in the air.
“Holy crap! Cough, cough, cough!“
Before she could finish laughing, the sound scared the giggles right out of her. She choked and clung to the railing, coughing violently.
“Food is delivered. Cleaning is done by hourly workers. You’ve lived here for a year; have you forgotten everything?”
The voice, accompanied by the spine-chilling sound of high heels, came from downstairs.
Lin Mo didn’t dare look down. She gripped the railing and tried to hop back up the stairs. After a frantic struggle, she had only managed two steps, but the soul-stealing voice behind her was already within reach.
“Do you want to go out?”
Xue Luhe’s breath hit Lin Mo’s ear—that maddeningly close distance again.
Lin Mo felt like her heart was going to jump out of her chest. She was truly lucky this body was healthy; if she had her frail heart from her previous life, she would be lying on the floor by now.
The person behind her emitted a unique scent, like fir trees, which spread out like something tangible. It felt like countless invisible hands enveloping the shivering Lin Mo.
“Have you remembered why you betrayed me?”
As Xue Luhe spoke, she slid a cold palm around Lin Mo’s waist.
The presence of that hand on her thin T-shirt was overwhelming. Like a small, slender green snake flicking its tongue, it wound around her hot body, moving higher, and higher…
Lin Mo shuddered, gritting her teeth and not daring to move.
There was absolutely no romantic atmosphere! Lin Mo felt that this was even more terrifying than being pinned to the bed earlier!
That cold hand was like the most frightening serpent from the depths of a nightmare, roaming over her most vulnerable heart area. No matter how fast her heart beat, or how much her skin burned, she couldn’t impart even a hint of warmth to that hand.
The hand moved aimlessly and ruthlessly, appearing as though it might extend venomous fangs at any moment and bite through her heart.
A strong wave of nausea surged from the depths of Lin Mo’s stomach. She couldn’t help but lean over and retch.
The hand, which had been as soft as flowing water, instantly became like cast iron. It tightened, pinning her firmly.
“Do you hate me that much?”
Xue Luhe pressed Lin Mo tightly into her embrace. She watched as Lin Mo retched in discomfort, her brows furrowed, yet Xue Luhe remained entirely impassive.
“You can’t do it with me, but you can do it with a stranger? Hmm?”
On the narrow, polished stairs, the two of them were in an intimate pose, yet the words whispered in her ear were full of mockery and devoid of affection.
Lin Mo felt nauseated for a long time. Finally, she went numb, slumped in Xue Luhe’s arms, and let the other woman do as she pleased.
She closed her eyes tightly, and a string of tears fell from the corners.
Lin Mo couldn’t help it; she was naturally prone to tears. The slightest emotional fluctuation would bring them on. Her long experience with heart disease made her afraid to resist others or overtax her heart. Right now, she could only be like a doll, at someone else’s mercy.
Fortunately, Xue Luhe didn’t seem intent on doing anything more. That cold hand, which had felt like a bone stuck in her throat, soon withdrew—like the tide leaving the beach.
Xue Luhe took her hand away but didn’t make another move. She continued to hold her tightly like a lover, her dangerous breath brushing against Lin Mo’s side.
“Don’t you want to explain, my dear wife?”
Lin Mo struggled to steady her breathing, her voice, and her stomach. Finally, she said:
“You say I’m your wife. Then, our relationship must have been terrible before. Otherwise, why would you hit me the moment we met, and why would you keep scaring me now?”
After speaking, she quickly pulled away from Xue Luhe’s embrace. Holding the railing to stand steady, she turned to face her.
No matter how many times she looked, Lin Mo still had to marvel: Xue Luhe’s face was simply too beautiful!
“I love you very much, darling.”
Xue Luhe looked at Lin Mo. Suddenly, her eyes crinkled and her lips curled up into a sly, cunning smile.
Such a smile, paired with such words… although Lin Mo’s logic refused to yield, she still… couldn’t help but believe her.
Then, Xue Luhe reached out and suddenly scooped Lin Mo up in her arms, walking up the stairs step by step.
“Let’s go back to the room. I will tell you just how much I love you.”
