The Movie Queen’s Charming Little Wife: Feigning Amnesia Online - Chapter 1
Chapter 1
“Lin Mo! You’re finished, do you hear me?! I heard Xue Luhe has the evidence and is on her way home to find you. Good luck, you’re going to need it!”
The voice message, clicked by mistake, finished playing, leaving the vast room in a dead silence.
On the European-style grand bed, silk ribbons and cushions of various colors formed a soft mountain. Lin Mo sat in the middle of this pile, her brows furrowed in confusion.
She suspected she was hallucinating. Where was she? A moment ago, she was in the hospital emergency room; how did she end up here the moment she opened her eyes?
The touch of the silk, the air filled with a faint fragrance, and a healthy heart beating thump-thump… everything was incredibly real.
Could this be the legendary… transmigration?
Lin Mo had suffered from congenital heart disease since she was a child. The doctors said she wouldn’t live past twenty. She struggled and made it to twenty-three until her most severe attack occurred.
She truly thought she wouldn’t make it this time. Her last thought before losing consciousness was: I haven’t even been in a relationship in this life… what a waste!
To her surprise, not only was she not dead, but she had gained a healthy body and was living in such luxury.
Lin Mo got out of bed and walked over to a massive mirror.
The person in the mirror had elegant and beautiful features but wore a tacky “instant noodle” permed hairstyle. She was dressed in an ultra-short nightgown that was more skin than fabric, and her face was covered in smudged eyeliner that hadn’t been properly removed.
The features were similar to Lin Mo’s, but the style was completely different. Her figure was also far better than the sickly Lin Mo of her past life; she had all the right curves.
Lin Mo stared at her reflection for a moment, picked up the phone, and played that voice message again.
Xue Luhe… That name sounded familiar.
She thought carefully, and suddenly it clicked. Her eyes widened: Xue Luhe! Wasn’t that the big villain from the novel she had finished reading just a few days ago?
It was a melodramatic “dog-blood” GL (Girls’ Love) novel. The main characters spent over two hundred chapters in a messy “I love you, you love me, but we can’t be together” cycle.
On the surface, Xue Luhe was a glamorous international Movie Queen, but in reality, she controlled the largest commercial empire in the book. She violated half the criminal code in the story—regularly kidnapping, imprisoning, or murdering those close to the female lead, while framing and running over the “Gong” (the lead attacker) with a car. She was a total psychopath!
And this villain, Xue Luhe, indeed had a “cannon fodder” wife named Lin Mo!
Had she really transmigrated into this book to become the sacrificial wife of the big villain?
Lin Mo’s teeth began to chatter. She typed a few words to “Lu Ruoruo,” the person who sent the message: What evidence?
Lu Ruoruo immediately called her back, shouting frantically:
“Lin Mo, you’re finally awake! Hurry up, pack your valuables and run! You just cheated and slept with that beauty the day before yesterday, and Xue Luhe found out today. You’re dead, do you know that?! I’m only warning you because we’re besties—if she interrogates you, don’t you dare mention my name. I’m afraid she’ll tear me apart! She’s almost home, run!”
The shouting made Lin Mo’s ears ache. Just as she was about to speak, the other side hung up, seemingly terrified of running into Xue Luhe.
Lin Mo stood dazed, recalling the plot.
As the wife of Movie Queen Xue Luhe, the original Lin Mo didn’t love her at all; it was entirely a business marriage.
However, Xue Luhe was a total deviant. She had made a pact with the original host: during their two years of marriage, they had to remain chaste for each other. Because she was a germaphobe, she couldn’t stand the idea of a woman who had been touched by others living in her house.
But the original Lin Mo was obsessed with the novel’s “Gong.” After being rejected repeatedly, she turned her hatred toward the novel’s “Shou” (the lead receiver) and did many stupid, villainous things to bully her.
Exactly one year after the marriage, Lin Mo was rejected again. After getting drunk at a bar, she had a one-night stand with a stranger, and photos were taken.
The following plot was…
Xue Luhe returned with the photos, flew into a rage, and after humilating Lin Mo severely, imprisoned her at home.
While trying to escape, Lin Mo fell from the villa window and became permanently disabled. Eventually, she was sent to a nursing home by Xue Luhe and died before she turned thirty.
In other words… she had just arrived, and she was already about to face the humiliation of the super-villain Xue Luhe?
Lin Mo felt like she was going to have a heart attack again. She clutched her chest, changed her clothes, and decided to pack her things immediately!
But a problem arose: Lin Mo didn’t know which items belonged to the original host and which belonged to Xue Luhe. Nominally, they lived together, but Xue Luhe would stay up all night working in the study whenever she returned; they never slept together.
While she was struggling to decide, not daring to run out with nothing (which would mean starving to death), she decided to find her ID and some gold and silver jewelry.
As she was busy, she heard a loud “BANG” from outside!
Lin Mo trembled, and the necklaces in her hand scattered across the floor.
She ran to the window. Below, a pink sedan had its hood smashed in by someone, with shattered glass everywhere.
Standing next to the car was a tall man holding an iron rod. Behind him, a woman was walking gracefully toward the villa’s entrance.
The woman’s back was slender and elegant. From Lin Mo’s angle, she couldn’t see her face, but she could feel the terrifyingly powerful aura radiating from her.
Is… is that Xue Luhe? Did she order that man to smash the car? But why smash it?
The thought flashed by, but Lin Mo had no time to think. Xue Luhe was already inside! She couldn’t run; jumping out the window meant landing in the lake—either drowning or breaking her legs. What should she do?
The villa was vast and empty. Fortunately, Lin Mo’s room was on the fourth floor. Even with the elevator, it would take a moment for Xue Luhe to reach her.
Lin Mo quickly put the jewelry back into the drawer, stuffed her ID and wallet into a small crossbody bag, and sat on the edge of the bed pretending she had just woken up. She nervously pinched her cheeks.
In the hallway, the sound of high heels clicking against the floor echoed—tap, tap, tap. The thin heels struck with a heavy, rhythmic beat, each one feeling like it was stepping directly on Lin Mo’s heart!
Just from the rhythm and force of the footsteps, Lin Mo could feel that the Xue Luhe she was about to face was a terrifying person.
In her previous world, Lin Mo’s biological father had abused her since childhood. This had given her the ability to judge a person’s mood by their footsteps, identifying which ones meant a beating was coming.
The current footsteps of Xue Luhe were the type she feared most—those of someone in a towering rage, determined to punish her severely.
Lin Mo’s mind was a mess. She couldn’t think of a strategy. She messaged Lu Ruoruo again, but there was no reply.
Given what the original host had done and the fact that Xue Luhe had photos, denial was impossible… but should she endure the violent physical and verbal humiliation like the original host? Lin Mo didn’t think she could handle that!
The footsteps grew closer and suddenly stopped outside the door with a “click.”
Lin Mo clutched her chest, breathing heavily like a fish out of water. She felt like she could hear the breathing of the person outside—calm and orderly, like a guillotine hanging over her neck, refusing to drop.
In a moment of impulse, Lin Mo wanted to rush over and hold the door handle to stop her from entering, but she quickly abandoned the idea. It was as futile as an ant trying to stop a chariot.
The doorknob turned slowly, letting out a soft, crisp “click,” and the door was pushed open halfway.
A snowy-white hand withdrew slowly, brushing past a cloud of misty brown long hair.
Lin Mo held her breath.
The left side of the door was still obscured. Even with just the right side of the face visible, the beauty was shocking.
The sheer radiance of that half-face was like a sharp blade striking the eyes, intensely and forcefully occupying Lin Mo’s brain, stripping her of the ability to think.
Is this… the legendary villainous Movie Queen, Xue Luhe?
The door continued to move slowly. The woman, looking like a painting, stood still, her deep gaze fixed on Lin Mo. She didn’t move, and she didn’t speak.
Lin Mo stared back, unable to look away. The person before her couldn’t be described merely as “beautiful.” Her eyebrows reached her temples, the bridge of her nose was high, her lips were blood-red, and her brow held a haughty indifference toward everything. It was a crushing, intense beauty born from years of being in power, someone who would never allow defiance.
Lin Mo could barely stand before such a person. She was terrified of people who looked this dominant and sharp.
By the time she snapped out of it, Xue Luhe had moved. Her long, beautiful legs wrapped in suit pants walked slowly toward Lin Mo, continuing forward.
Too close… I can’t breathe…
That exquisite face was less than five centimeters away. Their breaths mingled, and a cold, fresh fragrance enveloped the surroundings.
Lin Mo noticed a tear mole tucked at the corner of her eye.
The mole was incredibly faint, like a wisp of smoke extending from the long corner of her eye, adding a touch of charming softness to that stunning face.
Lin Mo swallowed.
The person before her spoke. Her voice was deeper and more melancholy than Lin Mo had imagined, flowing like the sound of a cello in a top-tier theater.
“Why did you betray me?”
Lin Mo was so busy admiring the face and voice that it took her a moment to process the question.
She instinctively blurted out:
“I didn’t!”
Xue Luhe took a step back, creating some space. With a flick of her hand, photos rained down onto Lin Mo’s face and body.
The photos hit the floor—all of them were explicit, white-fleshed images of Lin Mo’s body entangled with someone else in bed.
Some photos even captured the original Lin Mo’s face. The expression was… Lin Mo only took one look before being repulsed and quickly looked away.
Xue Luhe crossed her arms and gestured toward the photos with her chin:
“You betrayed me.”
Lin Mo opened her mouth and dryly let out a sentence:
“I don’t know who you are.”
She was telling the truth. Instinctively, she thought: I don’t even know you, so how could I betray you?
But immediately, she had a stroke of genius.
She hadn’t spent all those years at home watching melodramatic dramas and reading novels for nothing!
When backed into a corner, there is always one trick to use: Amnesia!
While she wasn’t actually suffering from amnesia but had transmigrated, she could certainly fake it!
Lin Mo pursed her lips and asked with the utmost sincerity:
“Who exactly are you? I can’t remember anything.”
Xue Luhe narrowed her eyes slightly, her gaze as sharp as a torch, boring into Lin Mo’s eyes as if trying to dig out her truest thoughts.
Lin Mo stiffened her neck, enduring Xue Luhe’s X-ray-like gaze, and hypnotized herself: I have amnesia, I have amnesia. I haven’t seen the original plot of your world. I really have amnesia. If I don’t have it, who does? I am the universe’s number one amnesiac!
Xue Luhe let out a light chuckle. Suddenly, she reached out and grabbed Lin Mo’s arm.
In the next second, her heart raced, and the world spun.
Lin Mo was pushed back onto the bed. Her newly changed denim shorts were swiftly pulled down.
As she felt Xue Luhe’s unique cold fragrance cover her, Lin Mo’s scalp tingled with shock!
What! I’ve only been here for twenty minutes—is my twenty-three-year-old virginity about to end? Why is it this kind of “humiliation”? This wasn’t in the original book!
