“Ning Yunshu, I miss you.”

Ye Qinglan’s soft whisper in her ear made Ning Yunshu’s breath hitch for a moment.

She seemed momentarily dazed before hearing Ye Qinglan’s voice again.

“Ning Yunshu, are you still there?”

“I miss you too, Sister,” Ning Yunshu quickly replied.

Only then did Ye Qinglan sigh in relief. “Are you okay? Are you feeling unwell?”

Ning Yunshu hurriedly explained, “No, no, I just miss you too much.”

Ye Qinglan found it amusing. “Alright, I get it. Be good and wait for me to finish filming.”

“Okay,” Ning Yunshu responded with a smile.

After chatting for a while longer, Zhou Tiantian brought some food, and Ye Qinglan finally ended the call with Ning Yunshu.

After eating and freshening up, she went to bed early, waiting for the next day’s shoot.

On the first day of filming, the set was as crowded as ever. After the ceremonial offerings, the first scene began.

As late autumn turned to early winter, the first snowflakes finally drifted down. After wrapping up the day’s shoot, Ye Qinglan returned to her van.

The heating inside was strong, and as soon as she stepped in, a steaming cup of goji berry tea was handed to her.

“Sister, you’ve worked hard. Have some warm tea.”

Ye Qinglan took the cup with a smile, looking at Ning Yunshu. “Have you been waiting long? Should we go grab something to eat now?”

Ning Yunshu curved her lips into a smile. “Not too long, but you’ve been busy all day. You really should eat something.”

Ye Qinglan gave her hand a gentle squeeze before turning to Zhou Tiantian. “Let’s go. Drive us to that hot pot place we visited a while back.”

“Got it, Sister Ye,” Zhou Tiantian replied before starting the car.

At the restaurant, Ye Qinglan had already reserved a private room. The two ordered dishes and enjoyed a warm meal before heading back to the hotel.

Back in the hotel, Ning Yunshu went to freshen up first. Ye Qinglan idly scrolled through her phone when Ke Ying’s call came through.

“Hello, Ke-jie,” Ye Qinglan answered.

“Qinglan, I have good news,” Ke Ying said, her voice brimming with joy.

Hearing this, Ye Qinglan perked up. “Let me guess, it’s about the movie, right? Did we get nominated?”

“Exactly! Multiple nominations, in fact. And you, you’re nominated for Best Actress,” Ke Ying said with a laugh.

Ye Qinglan’s eyes lit up. “So, I got a New Moon Award nomination?”

“Precisely!” After a year of hard work, the results were finally paying off. Even Ke Ying couldn’t contain her excitement.

“That’s amazing!” Ye Qinglan was beyond thrilled.

Just then, Ning Yunshu stepped out of the bathroom. Seeing Ye Qinglan’s elated expression, she wanted to say something but held back when she noticed the ongoing call.

Ke Ying continued on the other end, “But don’t get too carried away. Many seasoned actors are also nominated this time. Stay sharp, don’t get complacent. Keep focusing on your work and avoid any diva behavior.”

“I know, Ke-jie. You know what kind of person I am,” Ye Qinglan grumbled.

“I’m just reminding you not to give anyone ammunition. If things don’t go well, some people might twist it against you,” Ke Ying said with exasperation.

“Don’t worry, don’t worry, you can rest assured.” Ye Qinglan responded obediently, “I’ll definitely be careful.”

Ke Ying smiled, “That’s good then. Alright, focus on filming. The awards ceremony is at the end of the year, there’s still a month left, and your part should be wrapping up by then.”

After a few more words of advice, Ke Ying finally hung up.

Seeing the call end, Ning Yunshu asked with a smile, “Sister, what’s the good news?”

The joy on Ye Qinglan’s face didn’t fade, but she didn’t answer directly. Instead, she said, “Guess?”

Ning Yunshu looked at her smiling, moved closer, and sat beside Ye Qinglan. Leaning in, she said, “I guess Sister must have been nominated for Best Actress.”

“Ah! How did you guess so quickly? That’s no fun,” Ye Qinglan lightly chided.

Ning Yunshu put on an innocent face, “Well, it’s because your eyes gave you away.”

“Ugh, that makes it seem like my acting is terrible,” Ye Qinglan muttered.

“Not at all! It’s just because Sister loves me so much that she doesn’t hide anything from me,” Ning Yunshu coaxed.

Pleased by her words, Ye Qinglan let it go but then nervously asked, “What if I don’t win this time?”

Ning Yunshu quickly held her hand and said earnestly, “Sister, don’t overthink it. You’ll definitely succeed.”

“But what if—”

Before Ye Qinglan could finish, Ning Yunshu pressed a finger to her lips and stared at her intently, speaking slowly and deliberately.

“Sister, believe in yourself. You’ve always been amazing, and this time you’ve put in all your effort. You’ll get the result you deserve, so don’t worry, okay?”

Seeing how serious Ning Yunshu looked, Ye Qinglan finally smiled helplessly. She moved Ning Yunshu’s hand away and said with a laugh, “Alright, alright, I get it. Don’t be so serious, you scared me.”

Ning Yunshu immediately softened her expression. “That’s my fault for scaring you.”

Ye Qinglan nodded in satisfaction. “That’s more like it. Alright, I’m going to freshen up. We have filming tomorrow.”

After Ye Qinglan finished getting ready, the two went to bed early. The next morning, when Ye Qinglan woke up, Ning Yunshu was still asleep, so she left quietly, sending a message for Ning Yunshu to grab something to eat once she woke up.

Their filming progress wasn’t slow in fact, it was moving quite quickly. The director was very pleased, as actors who performed well and caused little trouble were rare these days.

Though Ye Qinglan had been in the industry for less than two years and was still considered a newcomer, her skill and attitude far surpassed most others in her position.

As a result, the director always greeted her warmly.

“Qinglan, you only have three scenes today. Do your best!” the director said cheerfully.

“Got it, Director. Don’t worry,” Ye Qinglan replied with a smile.

Two of the three scenes went smoothly in the morning, leaving only the evening shoot. Seeing how well things were going, the director dismissed her early to rest before the final scene.

After changing, Ye Qinglan stepped out to find Ning Yunshu already waiting for her.

“When did you get here?” Ye Qinglan asked in surprise.

“You were busy when your second scene started, so I didn’t disturb you and waited nearby,” Ning Yunshu replied with a smile.

“Did you have breakfast?” Ye Qinglan asked.

“I ate at the hotel,” Ning Yunshu answered before asking, “What are your plans for the rest of the day, sis?”

“I have another scene tonight, so I won’t be going back to the hotel. I’ll stay here to go over the script. How about we have the crew’s boxed meals for lunch and dinner?” Ye Qinglan replied.

“Sure.” Ning Yunshu didn’t mind at all. “Then I’ll just review some reports while sitting with you.”

“Okay.”

The two of them sat quietly in a corner of the set, one studying the script, the other going through company reports, occasionally exchanging soft words without disturbing the filming.

After dinner, the director called Ye Qinglan over to discuss the scene, giving her a few specific instructions before announcing the shoot.

Ye Qinglan had a strong grasp of her character, so the evening’s filming wrapped up quickly, and the crew returned to the hotel together.

Ning Yunshu would be leaving the next day. She had several mandatory meetings to attend, and since she had successfully secured the land from her recent bid, she now had to prepare for the construction of J.S’s new headquarters and factory. Once work picked up, she wouldn’t be able to visit Ye Qinglan as often, and she couldn’t help but express how much she would miss her.

Ye Qinglan cupped her face and kissed her gently. “Then wait for me at home, okay? I’ll come back to you as soon as filming wraps up.”

Though reluctant, Ning Yunshu knew that both she and Ye Qinglan had their own careers to manage. Sacrificing their professional lives for love would be putting the cart before the horse.

She simply nuzzled against Ye Qinglan and murmured, “Then I’ll wait for you at home, sis.”

Ye Qinglan smiled and ruffled her hair. “Good girl, Xiaoshu.”

The next morning, Ning Yunshu left for the airport while Ye Qinglan headed to the set. Though they were parting ways for now, they both understood it was for the sake of building a better future together.

Filming progressed smoothly and efficiently, and Ning Yunshu’s work flourished just as steadily.

When the director finally called “Wrap!” Ye Qinglan gazed up at the snowflakes drifting through the night sky, exhaled deeply, and dialed Ning Yunshu’s number.

“Xiaoshu, filming’s over.”

Ning Yunshu’s voice, brimming with warmth, came through the receiver.

“That’s wonderful! I’ll be waiting for you at home.”

Ye Qinglan chuckled softly, catching a snowflake in her palm and watching it melt away, her eyes shimmering with affection.

“Alright, then you’d better prepare a grand feast to welcome me back.”

“Of course. I’ll make everything you love.”
