The Movie Queen And Her Rival Just Went Public! - Chapter 25
Chapter 25
“I really don’t have any ideas.”
Shen Luoyan propped herself up and answered truthfully. Before Su Cancan could comment, the alarm on the phone by the pillow rang. She hadn’t changed the system’s default alarm sound. Although the volume was turned down, it was still sharp and jarring, crashing into her heart and causing her to panic.
Seeing signs of Su Cancan’s brow furrowing, Shen Luoyan reached out and turned it off.
“Your alarm goes off quite early. Did you set it specifically for the show?” Su Cancan subtly moved toward the edge of the bed, her back leaning against the pillow. “The group activity is in the evening. That’s plenty of time for a top student like you to think. If we really can’t figure it out, we can just search for one online.”
Su Cancan spoke nonchalantly, half her body sinking into the soft pillow, completely at ease.
Shen Luoyan pursed her lips: “No…” The word “No” had just left her mouth when she suddenly thought of something and quickly changed her reply, “Yes, I set it yesterday. It’s a bit early, I’ll cancel it later. I’ll think about the nickname and CP name after I get up.”
“Mhm, you take care of it.”
The curtains were installed quite low, letting a faint light filter through the top. Although the light wasn’t strong, it was easy to tell the day was clear and bright. Su Cancan covered her mouth and yawned, a film of moisture passing over her eyes.
She continued, “I like to lie down for a few minutes before getting up to wake up. Let’s talk about anything else after we’re up.”
As her voice faded, she gently closed her eyes. In her extreme state of relaxation, her pupils trembled and her curled eyelashes fluttered like butterfly wings, beautiful as a painting.
Where Su Cancan couldn’t see, Shen Luoyan slowly and quietly turned off all alarms before nine o’clock, then tiptoed to the bathroom.
This kind of pre-waking activity usually didn’t last long. Perhaps due to recent excessive fatigue, she actually fell into a light sleep. What woke her up about ten minutes later was a sudden sensation of falling.
The pressure and fear of plummeting into an abyss made her heart thump loudly. Su Cancan instantly opened her eyes. The ceiling was spinning, and the classic crystal chandelier seemed to be crashing toward her eyes. She stared fixedly at a single point and took deep breaths until everything settled back into place, then she called out softly.
“Shen Luoyan?”
The room door was tightly shut, and the only response was the chirping of birds outside the window.
Su Cancan turned on her phone, checked the time, sat up in bed, and shrugged her shoulders.
Shen Luoyan faintly heard Su Cancan call her name, just one sound. She paused, straining her ear to listen. It seemed like a fleeting hallucination, but she still felt uneasy and put down everything she was doing to knock on the bedroom door.
Her knuckles hit the wooden door, creating a knocking sound.
There was no movement inside the bedroom, making Shen Luoyan more worried. She clenched her fist, then pressed down on the doorknob.
The curtains in the room were drawn, with only the light on in the bathroom. She breathed a sigh of relief and was about to close the door and leave when Su Cancan appeared as if sensing her presence.
To facilitate washing up, she had coiled her long hair behind her ears, exposing her slender neck. A toothbrush was in her mouth, and a cluster of fine foam bubbled at the corner of her lips. Seeing Shen Luoyan disrupted her rhythm, and she choked, coughing.
Shen Luoyan quickly walked over and led her to the sink. After a series of pats on the back, she finally regained her breath, though her cheeks were flushed.
Shen Luoyan’s hand was soothing Su Cancan’s back, stroke after stroke. Feeling her body momentarily stiffen, she paused.
Su Cancan wasn’t doing it on purpose; it was an uncontrolled reaction in a natural state. She raised an eyebrow, inquiring about Shen Luoyan’s intention with her eyes.
“Ah.” Shen Luoyan’s mind went blank. “I came to ask if you’d like juice, coffee, or milk.”
“Milk, please.”
Su Cancan suddenly grabbed the hem of her clothes and smoothly pulled off her top, revealing the camisole underneath.
