The Mad Beauty and the Sick Young Lady [Transmigration Novel] - Chapter 14
Jiang Zhuoye slowly walked over to the bamboo chair and raised her hand toward Su Li.
Su Li moved aside a little.
Jiang Zhuoye then sat down in the empty space she had made, insisting on squeezing onto the same chair as Su Li.
Although Su Li’s skirt was quite thick, she could still feel Jiang Zhuoye’s shoulders and hips touching hers beneath the black long dress, soft and warm.
Yu Xianxian watched this scene, her face turning green. For a moment, she didn’t know what to say, opening her mouth for a long time without uttering a word.
Chen Anji, however, reacted quickly, letting out an exaggerated cry:
“Miss Jiang! Why are you here!”
Jiang Zhuoye smiled and pointed at Su Li:
“Because of her.”
Su Li’s face flushed slightly, feeling a bit happy, yet trying to maintain a very reserved appearance.
Chen Anji beckoned her friends, who were already watching nearby, and they immediately surged over, some asking for autographs, others handing out business cards.
Before signing for each person, Jiang Zhuoye would first glance at Su Li, and only signed if Su Li nodded. She refused all business cards.
A few quick witted people handed all their business cards to Su Li instead, appearing particularly eager.
Yu Xianxian was pushed to the periphery of the crowd, so angry she stomped her foot. She found the furthest corner to sit down and started gorging on cake.
Jiang Zhuoye displayed great celebrity poise, smiling sweetly and practically accepting all requests, patiently signing autographs and taking photos with everyone.
When this wave of autographs and photos was almost over, Su Li tugged at Jiang Zhuoye’s sleeve and pointed outside the door:
“Is that person looking for you?”
Jiang Zhuoye glanced over coolly:
“It’s fine, that’s my manager, Jia Sihan.”
Su Li watched Jia Sihan pacing back and forth at the door and couldn’t help but say:
“She looks very anxious. Maybe you should go out and ask what’s up?”
Jiang Zhuoye smiled and shook her head:
“It doesn’t matter, it’s more interesting here.”
Su Li:
“…”
She had a feeling Jiang Zhuoye might have escaped from some work obligation…
Su Li got up, wanting to get Jiang Zhuoye something to eat or drink, but Guan Jingxian rushed over quickly:
“Tell me what you want to eat, I’ll get it, you guys talk!”
As soon as Su Li stood up, Jiang Zhuoye subtly pressed her waist gently, making her sit back down.
This time, Jiang Zhuoye placed her hand on the armrest on Su Li’s side, which meant she was wrapping her arms around Su Li’s waist from behind.
“Your waist is so thin,” Jiang Zhuoye said casually while looking at the plants in the greenhouse.
Su Li’s face immediately turned red, and she lowered her head:
“Um… yours is very thin too.”
Jiang Zhuoye turned her head, her eyes flashing with a captivating deep green color:
“But you haven’t tried it.”
Su Li:
“Ah?”
The next second, one of Su Li’s hands was caught by Jiang Zhuoye and placed on Jiang Zhuoye’s waist.
Jiang Zhuoye guided Su Li’s hand, sliding it over the black, smooth fabric, tracing a circle from her spine to her lower abdomen.
“Did you feel it?” Jiang Zhuoye leaned close to Su Li’s ear, her voice like fresh summer sparkling water.
“…”
Su Li tried to pull her hand back, struggling a few times, only to have Jiang Zhuoye grab it back.
“You still haven’t said it, whose waist is thinner?” Jiang Zhuoye spoke with a charming smile, reminding Su Li of the seductive tones used by enchantresses in many movies when tempting the protagonists.
“Ah… yours, I guess…” Su Li felt her throat dry and her body stiff, not knowing where to put her hand, which was everywhere encountering warm, tight skin wrapped in clothing.
Jiang Zhuoye released her hand, suddenly stood up, smiled:
“I won’t tease you anymore, I’m going to play.”
Su Li stared blankly as the other woman left the bamboo chair, her black long dress blending into the deep green of the large banana leaves. She didn’t know where she was going.
Guan Jingxian returned with a large tray full of food and drinks, looking surprised:
“Where’s Sister Jiang?”
Su Li’s hand still felt the warmth of Jiang Zhuoye. She looked in the direction the other woman had disappeared, then suddenly stood up and followed her in large strides.
Guan Jingxian:
“Weren’t you two the ones who wanted to eat and drink just now?”
A party often requires a stage talented people will go up to sing a few lines, and the party organizers will also hire some professionals to liven up the atmosphere.
Today’s theme was a high school reunion, and most people were from wealthy circles, keen to show off their taste. The stage featured a classical ensemble piano, violin, cello, and trumpet all played by specialized musicians.
Amidst the elegant classical music, Chen Anji was flitting around the venue like a social butterfly, chatting with this older brother, drinking with that younger brother, and meeting new gentlemen.
When Jiang Zhuoye arrived, Chen Anji was being pushed onto the stage by her admirers:
“Since everyone is asking, I’ll gladly accept, but if I don’t play well, you can’t blame me!”
Chen Anji sat down at the piano, placing her fingers on the keys.
Jiang Zhuoye found a chair below and sat down, interested. Coincidentally, Yu Xianxian was right next to her.
Chen Anji began to play a Mozart serenade, and she played it quite decently.
Midway through the piece, Su Li walked over, found a seat in the back, and kept looking at Jiang Zhuoye.
When the piece ended, the audience erupted in applause.
Yu Xianxian applauded, then glanced at the unmoving Jiang Zhuoye, and sneered:
“Our Anji is just so smart and capable. She’s definitely better than some so-called big stars. Nowadays, big stars are all bark and no bite, making money just with a pretty face. Hmph, what kind of skill is that?”
Jiang Zhuoye rested her chin on her hand, looking at the stage, and spoke clearly, as if talking to herself:
“And some people, not only can they only be spectators, but they also don’t even have a face.”
Yu Xianxian jumped up:
“Who the hell are you cursing!”
Jiang Zhuoye blinked her innocent eyes and spread her hands:
“I just said something casually. How is that cursing? I’m cursing some faceless thing. Are you a thing?”
Yu Xianxian:
“I am!… No, I’m not a thing!… Oh my, I, I…”
Su Li watched from the back, chuckling.
Chen Anji on the stage noticed that everyone’s attention had shifted to Jiang Zhuoye and was about to try and regain control when she heard someone exclaim:
“Ah! Why is she like that!”
“Wait, why would she still come to the reunion looking like that!”
Standing high up, Chen Anji could see clearly and immediately got excited:
“It’s Ying Feiyan!”
When Su Li heard that name, she felt a burst of annoyance. She hadn’t asked beforehand if Ying Feiyan would be coming. Had she known, she wouldn’t have come herself.
Ying Feiyan was heavily dressed today, with gauze wrapped around her forehead, and several bruises on her chin and cheeks, looking utterly miserable.
She walked straight up to Su Li, forcefully suppressing her anger, and asked in a low voice:
“Why didn’t you come to see me?”
Su Li looked at Ying Feiyan’s slightly swollen face and was completely shocked:
“Did a… bear ram you?”
Ying Feiyan scoffed:
“I was beaten by your sister.”
Su Li:
“My sister is that good? Wow!”
Ying Feiyan:
“…You’re saying ‘wow’! I got hurt like this because of you!”
Su Li shook her head and pointed at the stage:
“Today is everyone’s party. Don’t make trouble here. Enjoy the music.”
Ying Feiyan:
“…”
Unable to argue, and not daring to actually lay a hand on Su Li, she sat down, stifling her anger.
Chen Anji played another piece, but this time she was distracted and didn’t play very well. After finishing, she quickly left the stage.
Jiang Zhuoye suddenly spoke up:
“Miss Ying, I heard you also play the piano. How about we have a PK?”
Yu Xianxian:
“Heh heh, Jiang Zhuoye, you dare to call out our Feiyan, you’re dead! Feiyan’s skill is professional-grade!”
The onlookers:
“Really? I really want to see Miss Ying play the piano…”
“I want to see Jiang Zhuoye perform even more. This is something you usually can’t buy even with money!”
“But for a PK, how will the score be calculated? Will everyone vote?”
Jiang Zhuoye looked back at Ying Feiyan, then at Su Li, smiled charmingly, raised one hand, and waved it freely in the air:
“PK, PK, PK!”
The onlookers responded enthusiastically, chanting “PK! PK! PK!”
Su Li: I have a feeling that Jiang Zhuoye right now looks more like a peacock displaying its feathers than Ying Feiyan.
Ying Feiyan was utterly confused. Who was she, where was she? She hadn’t even agreed yet, so why was everyone egging them on! She only came to find Su Li, not to perform with a bruised face!
