Yu Bai treated the girlfriend she had picked up like royalty, pouring money into her every whim. However, the girl was bound by a core program: she was scheduled for permanent deletion in thirty days. To break this hard-coding, Yu Bai was faced with a “Do-or-Die” ultimatum: the girl either had to commit murder or they had to become intimate.

“Kill me or make love to me.”

As it turned out, Ji Feng was never a tender AI girlfriend. She was an operative on a mission to eliminate her enemies root and branch. The night her memories flooded back, she nearly settled the score with Yu Bai for good.

“Did I ever love you?” “No.” “Then.  Did you ever love me?” “I don’t deserve to.” “So, what is our relationship?”

What were they? If you had to put a label on it, they were bitter, irreconcilable arch-enemies. And now, Yu Bai was her prisoner.

“Just playmates in a game,” Ji Feng answered for her.

The tension in the room snapped. People began to laugh, mocking Yu Bai as a “simp” who had lost every shred of her dignity. Yu Bai felt a hollow sense of relief; she felt she had provided the “correct,” disciplined answer to the question. But the moment she stepped out of the hall into the shadows, the tears finally came.

From then on, Ji Feng went out of her way to make Yu Bai’s life miserable. It seemed she hated her for the complete lack of boundaries she displayed while Ji Feng was an amnesiac.

“If you aren’t going to kill me, I’m leaving,” Yu Bai tested the waters tentatively. Ji Feng fell silent for a long moment. “Didn’t you say we were just playmates?”

Ji Feng began using every excuse imaginable to stall her. Yu Bai started finding gifts by her bed, offerings that felt desperate and starving. Colleagues would constantly bring her breakfast, while someone followed her everywhere like a shadow. Yu Bai ignored it all, assuming she was simply being delusional.

During a high-risk mission, the air grew searing with dust as the walls began to crumble. “Captain Ji, it’s time to evacuate.” No one heard a response over the comms until Yu Bai finally deigned to urge her. “Why haven’t you left yet?” Hearing that gentle voice, Ji Feng couldn’t hold back her tears. The countdown was ticking; the explosion was imminent.

“I’m not leaving.” “What are you doing?” “Punishing a sinner for you.”
