The Innocent 'Green Tea' Alpha at Home is Actually My Boss - Chapter 1
“All the data for your pheromones have severely exceeded the standard limits. I still suggest you find an Alpha with a high compatibility rating to be your permanent partner.” The doctor, clad in a white lab coat, looked at the chemical analysis report in his hand which was streaked with red warnings with a grave expression.
Sang Weilian’s brow furrowed instantly, clearly dissatisfied with the suggestion.
The doctor looked at him and sighed silently.
As a Beta himself, he didn’t understand why Sang Weilian, an Omega, harbored such a deep rejection of Alphas, especially since medically, there were no abnormalities in the way his pheromones merged with Alphas.
Furthermore, Sang Weilian had just recently won “Best Actor” again; he should be at the peak of his career, yet the internet was currently flooded with videos of him losing his temper at an assistant on set, along with a viral recording of him expressing contempt for Alphas.
Sang Weilian had been receiving treatment from him ever since he differentiated at eighteen. Eleven years was enough time to understand his character. The doctor firmly believed that the current predicament was caused by distorted online information and Sang Weilian’s Pheromone Disorder.
But clearly, the party involved didn’t take the disorder seriously at all, because in the next second, he heard Sang Weilian say:
“Then give me a double dose of suppressants.”
The doctor choked on his words. Seeing that the younger man’s mind was made up, he rose helplessly and prescribed two more boxes of suppressants.
Sang Weilian took them and quickly left the consultation room.
A black mask covered half of his face. Sang Weilian pulled up the hood of his matching black hoodie and stepped out of the noisy hospital.
The check-up ended earlier than expected, and his manager hadn’t arrived yet. Sang Weilian stood by the roadside; his slender build and cool styling drew the side-glances of many passersby. But soon, their attention was captured by the large LED screen on the mall across the street.
“Dialogue with your true self, listen to the sounds of the world. Siny Headphones you deserve them.”
That was a new endorsement deal signed after Sang Weilian won the Golden Feather Best Actor award for the second time.
On the giant screen, the Omega’s skin was snow-white. Under the sunlight, his earlobes framed by silver headphones appeared almost transparent. Between his brows was a cold, elegant beauty that wasn’t cliché, and in his phoenix-like eyes were dark blue pupils like gemstones mysterious and alluring.
A Beta girl standing nearby couldn’t help but sigh, “Sang Weilian is so beautiful…”
“What’s the use of being good-looking? Didn’t he throw away flowers sent by his fans?” Beside her, a companion sneered.
“Exactly! And he fired the assistant who had been with him since his debut for no reason. What an ungrateful wolf!” another person added, rolling their eyes.
“Right! And he even said things like ‘Alphas are low-level biological entities ruled entirely by their corpora cavernosa.’ So uncivilized!”
“Didn’t he also bully actors in the same company and steal resources from rookies?”
“Yeah, yeah! People like him should be banned!”
Listening to these harsh remarks, Sang Weilian’s face turned icy. His dark blue pupils were filled with a sharp, fierce light as he suddenly straightened his posture.
Because of his sudden movement, the passersby were reflexively startled, and the gossip came to an abrupt halt.
Sang Weilian didn’t even look at them. He walked straight toward a black business van that had just pulled up on his left, opened the door, and sat inside.
His manager, Wang Gu, asked while starting the car, “How was the check-up?”
As soon as he finished asking, he sensed the wrong atmosphere in the car.
Sang Weilian was in a terrible mood.
Wang Gu had been by Sang Weilian’s side since his debut, so he immediately had the foresight to pivot to good news: “The company is getting a new boss. I heard the newcomer is serious, impartial, and clean-living completely different from a beast like Wu Liao who likes to put his hands on artists.”
Speaking of this, Wang Gu’s anger also flared up.
Because Wu Liao failed to coerce Sang Weilian into a “casting couch” arrangement, he intentionally refused to help clear up the rumors. He was truly the scum of Alphas!
He said indignantly, “When the new boss arrives, I’ll immediately file an application to have the company officially clarify those baseless rumors online!”
“I’ll take you home first. You should stay home for a few days to avoid the spotlight. You’ve been so busy before; just treat this as a vacation.”
Sang Weilian looked up. He had already removed his mask, and his thin lips parted slightly: “What about today’s magazine shoot?”
Wang Gu paused, and after a long moment, he said, “They want to switch people.”
“Switch to whom?” Sang Weilian’s voice grew cold.
“It hasn’t been decided yet,” Wang Gu said truthfully. “Wu Liao recommended Fang Wenbin.”
Sang Weilian gave a cold laugh. “Go to the company.”
“Now?” Wang Gu was surprised. “The company is surrounded by reporters these days. You aren’t going to settle scores with those two, are you…”
Sang Weilian leaned lazily against the seat back. “Do I look like the type to go looking for trouble for no reason? I’m just going to ‘congratulate’ that pair of AO dogs.”
Wang Gu thought to himself: You’re certainly not the type to look for trouble “randomly,” because once you decide to cause trouble, it is never “random.”
Just as Wang Gu said, the entrance of Everbright Entertainment was swarming with reporters. Many had been waiting so long they were crouching on the ground. Whenever a car approached, they craned their necks to look.
Fortunately, Wang Gu was driving a newly purchased private car today. By the time the reporters recognized him in the driver’s seat and tried to chase after them, he had already skillfully driven into the restricted parking lot.
While parking, Wang Gu specifically checked the spot where Fang Wenbin’s van usually parked.
The car was there.
Pop. The small flame called “hope” was extinguished.
Sang Weilian put on his mask, pushed open the car door, and walked with long strides toward the executive elevator.
Wang Gu hurried to follow.
Just as he reached the elevator, Sang Weilian’s heart suddenly skipped a beat. He felt his breathing grow rapid, and his face turned pale for a moment.
Not far away, a black Land Rover drove into the parking lot, quickly turning into another section and disappearing from sight.
“What’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell?” Wang Gu noticed something was off and asked quickly.
“It’s nothing.”
That strange sensation came and went quickly; Sang Weilian didn’t pay it much mind.
Wang Gu stopped asking, planning to secretly call the doctor later to ask about Sang Weilian’s check-up results.
He was about to press the elevator button when he noticed the indicator light wasn’t on. Beside it was an A4 paper with the word “Out of Service.”
“Take the staff elevator?” Wang Gu immediately asked for his opinion. He knew Sang Weilian was repulsed by most Alpha pheromones and had a bit of a germaphobia. In his heart, Wang Gu was silently praying that Sang Weilian wouldn’t cause any more scenes during this critical time.
Sang Weilian frowned. The Everbright Entertainment headquarters was fifty-seven stories tall, one of the landmark buildings in Hai City.
The staff elevator required waiting, was crowded, and Wu Liao’s office was on the fifty-sixth floor. It would take at least seven or eight minutes to get there.
While he hesitated briefly, the staff elevator opened in front of him. A parking lot attendant inside greeted them familiarly.
Sang Weilian gave a slight nod and stepped into the elevator.
Wang Gu followed, resigned to his fate.
Then, the elevator stopped on the first floor.
The doors opened, and about a dozen employees, while saying “Good morning, Teacher Sang” and “Manager Wang,” squeezed inside in a rush.
Sang Weilian sensitively caught the mixture of various pheromone scents in the air. He found it foul and felt a wave of nausea, instinctively squeezing his way out of the elevator.
Because the elevator was so crowded, a few employees who were bumped into couldn’t help but mutter: “What the…? If you wanted to get off, you should have done it sooner.”
“He’s a ‘Young Master’ after all, not like us.”
Wang Gu glared at them fiercely before the doors closed.
The spacious lobby and the restored airflow allowed Sang Weilian’s breathing to gradually smooth out. Looking up, he saw a directory sign near the entrance that read: “Auditions for ‘The Glorious CEO,’ please proceed to Meeting Room 606,” with a massive arrow pointing toward the general elevators.
Next to the bold red arrow stood a tall man who was on the phone. Even with a mask on, it couldn’t hide his extraordinary facial profile.
Before Sang Weilian could get a good look, his vision was blocked by someone emitting a pungent fragrance.
It was Fang Wenbin.
Surrounded by several assistants and a makeup team, he looked like a victorious rooster, holding his head high to try and match Sang Weilian’s gaze.
However, Sang Weilian’s stature was on the taller side for an Omega. At 183cm, with legs that were long, straight, and leanly muscled, he stood in sharp contrast to Fang Wenbin, who was barely over 170cm and very thin.
Jealousy flared in Fang Wenbin’s heart, but he spoke with a sarcastic tone: “Oh my, isn’t this Teacher Sang? Why do you look so pale? Could it be that you’re in a bad mood?”
Sang Weilian sneered. “Wang Gu, remember to contact the sales manager at Diamond and send a bottle of perfume to Teacher Fang.”
He paused slightly, then added: “Oh, one bottle isn’t enough. I’m afraid he’ll need two to match Teacher Fang’s ‘Rafflesia’ scent.”
Fang Wenbin’s face turned ashen.
Diamond was a top-tier global luxury brand, and Sang Weilian was their only spokesperson in the entire Asia-Pacific region, which spoke volumes about his status. Their perfumes were exclusive to the elite.
And the Rafflesia was Fang Wenbin’s pheromone. Though it was a flower, it only emitted a foul stench something Fang Wenbin hated but could never change.
“Teacher Sang, just because you have high-end endorsements doesn’t mean you can look down on—”
Sang Weilian didn’t hear the rest of the sentence. The pungent, low-quality perfume Fang Wenbin used to mask the Rafflesia smell made him feel deeply nauseous. More importantly, a long, torturous ringing started in his ears, agonizing his nerves.
Following that was a powerful heart palpitation and pheromones that felt like they were about to surge out of his body uncontrollably.
He turned and left immediately; experience told him he needed a suppressant.
By the time Wang Gu reacted, he was facing Fang Wenbin’s beet-red face. He couldn’t be bothered to deal with him and quickly chased after Sang Weilian.
He ran all the way to the end of the hallway but couldn’t find him.
On his phone, he received a text from the doctor.
[Mr. Wang, from a medical perspective, I must tell you: Sang Weilian’s Pheromone Disorder is very serious. His pheromones are showing signs of being uncontrollable. Not only will his heat cycle become completely irregular, but it could also lead to gland neural blocks and brain neural blocks. Please make sure he goes to the hospital for an AO pheromone matching test to select a suitable Alpha partner!]
In the quiet restroom, Sang Weilian leaned against the corner. His vision was blurred, his temples were throbbing with pain, and his body was gradually heating up.
He gasped for air. In the trash can beside him lay two empty tubes of suppressants.
The suppressants weren’t working at all. Sang Weilian could feel his legs weakening, and his pheromones were struggling to leak out.
Clang. Along with the heavy sound of the door opening came an Alpha, carrying a cold, crisp “Mountain Spring” pheromone scent.
Sang Weilian looked up dazed. He thought: He looks like the person who was standing by the sign earlier.
Lu Lin was surprised to see an Omega in the Alpha-only restroom, but his discomfort vanished the moment the other person looked up.
It was Sang Weilian.
The same Sang Weilian he had seen at the entrance just moments ago.
The Sang Weilian he had thought about day and night for years.
He looked very wrong. Though there was no scent of pheromones yet, he seemed to have fallen into a heat.
So Lu Lin asked, “Are you okay?”
He couldn’t hear clearly…
What was this person saying?
Asking if he was okay?
He wasn’t okay at all.
But this Alpha’s pheromones smelled so good…
Sang Weilian’s mind was a blank slate, and white noise filled his vision.
Following the scent, his body instinctively leaned forward.
Moving just a few centimeters closer made his restless blood become quiet and obedient.
“You are…” who?
Sang Weilian couldn’t finish a sentence, completely unaware of how weak and soft his voice sounded at that moment.
Lu Lin waited a long time for a response. As the concentration of pheromones in the small space began to rise, his own breathing grew heavy.
This won’t do; he needed to call his private doctor immediately.
Just as he pulled out his phone—
Clatter. The phone suddenly hit the floor.
Sang Weilian, drawing from some unknown source of strength, grabbed him and pulled him forward while he was off-guard!
“Teacher Sang—”
Sang Weilian’s state was clearly abnormal; he had to get a doctor.
Lu Lin tried to bend down to pick up his phone, but the person in front of him wouldn’t let him move.
He was pinned against the corner, his back hitting the wall with a dull thud.
“Sang—”
His lips were suddenly covered by a layer of warm softness.
Lu Lin’s entire body stiffened, his eyes widening in shock.
Two sets of pheromones collided.
He smelled it.
Sang Weilian’s pheromone was the scent of Wild Roses.
Like a balloon bursting, it slowly leaked out from the gland at the back of Sang Weilian’s neck.
