The Heartless Alpha Just Wants to Follow the Plot - Chapter 9
Qiu Fu ate quickly but with surprising seriousness—the kind of eater you could watch and somehow feel content just looking at.
Su Mo hadn’t been hungry at first, yet simply watching her made her appetite stir. After finishing the meal, Qiu Fu was too embarrassed to stay any longer. At the moment, she couldn’t trust anyone, so the only option was to take an unmanned air taxi back by herself.
Once she left this hotel, her manager and Hua Siyin would definitely be searching everywhere for her. When they ran out of places to look, they would absolutely guess she had come to Su Mo.
And now she was covered head-to-toe in Su Mo’s pheromones. Even if nothing had happened between them, no one would believe it.
Troublesome as it was, Su Mo had saved her. That alone made the night not quite as awful.
Seeing that Qiu Fu was about to head out like this, Su Mo quickly reminded her, “You’re covered in my pheromones—very strongly. If you go out like this, it’ll be bad for your reputation.”
Even for someone as slow on the uptake as Su Mo, she still understood what it meant to leave while drenched in someone else’s pheromones.
But her pheromones were the only thing stabilizing Qiu Fu’s heat symptoms, and they weren’t something she could just retract at will. They had to fade naturally.
And it would take at least three days for the scent to dissipate.
So, Su Mo had no real way to help her further. They were rivals, had barely exchanged a handful of words before today, and she had already gone far enough by stepping in to save her. Anything beyond this, what could she do?
She couldn’t possibly ruin her own reputation just to save someone else, right?
Besides, the two of them didn’t have any feelings for each other.
No matter how irresponsible she might be, even she knew what fans thought about their idols dating.
Qiu Fu fell silent. After a long moment, she said softly, “It’s fine. It’s late. If I’m careful, no one will notice.”
“I’ll take an unmanned taxi. It won’t affect you.”
Su Mo looked away awkwardly. “It’s not really me I’m worried about.”
She was an Alpha. Rumors like this wouldn’t ruin her—it would just reinforce the bad impression people already had of her private life. One more scandal wouldn’t change much.
But Qiu Fu had always been clean. No scandals, no gossip, no real-person CP rumors. And most importantly—everyone believed she was an Alpha. No one imagined that she had been pretending all along.
“To be honest, I don’t really care about my reputation. I’m just worried about your public persona.” Su Mu said.
Going from Alpha to Omega—this was huge. Fans might not take it well.
Qiu Fu tightened her grip on the hem of her clothes and let out a bitter smile. “What’s the point of a persona? Without protection and without background—even as a movie queen—I can still be bullied.”
In this industry, she walked on thin ice. She had worked so hard to climb up, only to end up framed like this.
Su Mo hesitated for a long time before speaking. “Whoever set you up this time, it’s related to someone around you, isn’t it?”
Qiu Fu didn’t answer, but her silence confirmed it.
Su Mo advised, “If that’s the case, then you shouldn’t stay with that garbage company. Switch agencies.”
“I’m with Feimu Entertainment. They’re good. Why don’t you consider joining us?”
She extended the invitation sincerely. With Qiu Fu’s skills, acting foundation, and reputation, Feimu would never be foolish enough to reject her.
Qiu Fu thought for a moment and said with difficulty, “My contract still has a year and a half. I probably can’t leave anytime soon.”
The penalty fee was huge. She could afford it, but if she broke the contract that way, Feimu might not dare take her in.
Su Mo tried to persuade her again. “If you really want to switch, Feimu will help you. Your manager did something like this—there’s no way Qi Huan Entertainment doesn’t know.”
Of course, Qiu Fu understood that. She was just unwilling to accept it.
She’d been with Qi Huan for five years, three of those as one of their biggest moneymakers. She wasn’t at the level of the true industry titans, but she was definitely one of the best of her generation.
Yet just because the company suspected she might want to terminate her contract after a year and a half, they allowed her manager to do something like this to her.
It would be a lie to say she wasn’t heartbroken.
“I’ll think about it. Thank you for the reminder.”
Seeing Qiu Fu had her own thoughts, Su Mo shrugged and tossed her jacket, hat, and sunglasses over. “Take these. No one knows what might happen out there. If you run into trouble, the pheromone scent on the jacket might help you a bit.”
Qiu Fu held the clothes, hat, and glasses against her chest, feeling a warmth spread through her. “Thank you.”
She put on the jacket, the hat, and the sunglasses, then turned to leave. The men in black were already gone. They hadn’t found her, and even if they guessed she had gone to Su Mo, they wouldn’t dare confront her directly.
If Su Mo was just an actress, they might have tried their luck. But unfortunately for them—her background was terrifying. No one dared touch her.
And so, borrowing Su Mo’s protection, Qiu Fu successfully left the hotel.
As soon as the elevator doors opened, two women were waiting outside. One of them was Si Yu. The Alpha scent clinging to Qiu Fu was overwhelming—impossible to ignore.
And Si Yu recognized it instantly.
It belonged to Su Mo.
She bit her lower lip unconsciously, forcing a strained smile as she stepped aside.
She hadn’t paid attention to who was wearing the sunglasses—she simply caught a strong, lingering scent of pheromones. Judging from how heavy it was, whoever those two people were, they definitely hadn’t been doing anything innocent in that room.
But the woman standing beside that person swept her gaze across Qiu Fu, something thoughtful flickering briefly in her eyes.
Qiu Fu recognized Si Yu, of course. After all, Si Yu’s Best Actress trophy had been handed to her by Qiu Fu personally. But running into her like this was far too awkward. She lowered the brim of her cap and forced her voice down.
“Excuse me, please.”
Si Yu automatically stepped aside, dazed, and Qiu Fu strode out of the elevator.
The woman next to Si Yu quickly raised her optical-brain device and snapped a picture. Staring at the image, she frowned, struck by a vague sense of familiarity.
“That person just now looked kind of familiar.”
Si Yu, still a little spaced out, didn’t pay much attention to her comment. This hotel was famous for being packed with celebrities during shoots—running into a familiar face wasn’t surprising in the slightest.
“Come on, let’s go up. You’re joining this project too, so we’ll finally have time to catch up.”
Only then did the woman drop the matter. Smiling, she said, “Alright then. Since you’re not filming today, we’ll sit down and talk later. It’s been so long—I really missed you.”
Meanwhile, Qiu Fu left the hotel in a hurry. She had tried her best to avoid being seen, but she still ended up caught by a paparazzo hiding who-knows-where—photographed and even recorded on video.
The paparazzo looked at the footage on his optical brain, then at Qiu Fu’s very recognizable outfit, and whistled.
“Well, well. This is going to be good. Isn’t Qiu Fu always claiming to be an alpha? Never had a single dating scandal either. Didn’t expect her private life to be this wild. And to sneak off like this, too—bold of her.”
“Wait, this outfit looks familiar.”
The more he stared at the clothes Qiu Fu was wearing, the more familiar they seemed. He quickly dug through his files—he was almost sure he had photographed that same outfit recently.
By the time Qiu Fu got home, she had barely finished changing all the passwords and access permissions when a notification popped up—she was on the trending headlines.
Opening Star Net, she immediately saw the photo and video of her leaving the hotel.
Neither she nor Su Mo had thought to treat her wounds with a medical device. Covered by long sleeves and pants, they weren’t visible—only her still-swollen, reddened lips stood out. And combined with that dense alpha pheromone scent clinging to her, public curiosity skyrocketed in an instant.
【This scent feels familiar. Almost like I’ve heard someone mention it before.】
【No way. No way, right? That jacket.】
【What about the jacket? Spit it out! You’re killing me!】
【Whispering here, but I’m pretty sure Su Mo wore that same jacket yesterday at noon when she got photographed.】
【It’s just a jacket. Doesn’t prove anything. Su Mo isn’t the only one who can wear it—maybe someone just bought the same style, okay?】
In Qiu Fu’s fans’ eyes, she could date anyone—anyone except Su Mo.
Su Mo? An alpha? Please. She was a walking red flag.
Meanwhile, Qiu Fu—pure, spotless, never once in a relationship—how could she possibly win against someone like Su Mo?
The fans’ wailing drowned out every other voice. By the time Su Mo’s fans finally trickled into the comments, Qiu Fu’s fans had already flooded the feed, crying, begging Qiu Fu to wake up and stay away from Su Mo—the one alpha she absolutely couldn’t touch.
Su Mo’s fans were furious too. Yes, Su Mo was scummy, but they weren’t going to let people trash her like that.
At least praise her looks!
The two sides quickly exploded into a full-on war, neither willing to admit the two were dating.
Qiu Fu brushed her thumb over the optical-brain screen, removed her glasses and cap, her expression darkening.
Thinking of Su Mo’s utterly indifferent attitude earlier, she felt a sour, unsettled ache in her chest. If only she had the same kind of fearlessness Su Mo did—then she wouldn’t have to care about anything either.
Touching the small embroidered chrysanthemum on her cap, she fell silent for a long moment before choosing to contact her agency.
With things escalating like this, she needed to take the initiative if she wanted to steer the situation. Otherwise, she’d lose control—and lose her leverage entirely.
Inside Qi Huan Entertainment’s CEO office, Qiu Fu’s agent, Diao Yingnan, glanced nervously at the boss but didn’t dare speak first.
The CEO’s expression was ice-cold. “This is your level of competence?”
“You can’t even handle something this minor. What are you even good for?”
“You said she was an alpha. How did she suddenly turn into an omega? If I’d known earlier, I would’ve never approved any of this.”
In the entertainment industry, omegas were far more valuable than alphas—worth significantly more profit to him.
And now, thanks to this idiot Diao Yingnan, all of that potential value was already damaged.
When Qiu Fu’s call came through, the CEO motioned for Diao Yingnan to step aside.
She hurried to the corner, making sure she wouldn’t disturb him.
Facing Qiu Fu—who looked perfectly calm and not at all like someone who had been coerced or mistreated—the CEO’s eyes flickered, his demeanor shifting instantly into something warm.
“Xiao Qiu, what’s wrong? Why did you suddenly call me?”
If she hadn’t already known his true nature, Qiu Fu might actually have fallen for that gentle façade.
Her voice was cold. “Considering what the company has done, I believe it’s time for me to terminate my contract.”
