The Frenzied Savior - Chapter 2
Extreme drowsiness, a voracious appetite, and nighttime hyperactivity—Fu Qingya resembled a genuine sufferer of “Sleeping Beauty Syndrome.” The only difference was that his behavior was entirely intentional and controlled.
Even though he was in command of it, Fu Qingya spent most of his time in deep slumber to accelerate the synchronization process, and today was no exception.
On the surface, it seemed like just another ordinary day.
However, in the far reaches of outer space, indescribable screams and roars echoed from the depths of the Milky Way. A cold, chaotic black hole expanded rapidly from a single condensed point; one second it was the size of a grain of rice, and the next, it had grown into a massive lake.
Due to the extreme distortion of image transmission in space, what appeared to be the size of a lake to the naked eye was actually half the size of the moon a true behemoth. This brought to mind a hypothesis once reported by certain media outlets.
That hypothesis suggested that black holes were “objects” connecting time, space, and dimensions. Beings existing in the “past” and “future” could travel through black holes to reach the “present” in massive numbers, and life forms from the “fourth dimension” could use them to launch a full-scale invasion of Earth.
When this theory first surfaced, it was met with ridicule and mockery from countless people who dismissed it as a fallacy. But today, that fallacy seemed destined to be proven true.
The black hole, situated between planets separated by billions of light-years, began to mutate. The chaotic black matter was stirred by some form of energy, taking on the appearance of a swirling vortex. At the center of this chaos, a silver-white triangular tip, crafted from a material resembling ultra-low-temperature high-hardness alloy, began to bore its way out.
The emergence of the triangular tip triggered a series of chain reactions. The chaotic matter showed signs of boiling, and ripples of energy waves pulsed outward from the metallic point.
Gurgle—
The sound of water rushing into a hole was confined within the black hole, appearing and disappearing silently in the vacuum of space where sound cannot travel. Then, a mechanical entity beyond human imagination emerged from the darkness.
The silver-white triangular tip served as its head. Behind it was a circular torso assembled from a complex crisscross of cold machinery. Creeping upon this torso was a viscous, eldritch creature with a thousand eyes and ten thousand tentacles. Further back, the tail was a grotesque hybrid of yellowish-white flesh and a silver-white skeletal frame.
Inside this massive mechanical structure sat fifteen differently styled, oval-shaped mechanical pods.
A cold glow shimmered across the pods until one black, oval-shaped door slowly turned transparent.
Thump-thump—
The sound of a heartbeat, far exceeding the normal human rate, echoed within the pod. With a hiss, the black door slid open.
Drip—
Blue liquid slid off the door as a hand covered in deep blue scales, featuring sharp claws and webbed fingers, reached out.
A strange, eerie, high-pitched screech rang out from inside the pod for a moment before quickly fading into silence.
Once the sound vanished, red lights began to flash around the pod area. A cold, mechanical voice rang out, speaking an unknown language in a completely flat tone.
Invisible energy waves enveloped the massive mechanical object in space. A second later, it vanished into thin air.
One week later, Kyoto.
As the capital of Country A, competition among Kyoto’s top universities and high schools was incredibly fierce.
To maintain the prestige of the elite institutions, every teacher at Huangquan High School was a “master of time management.” The schedules for the third-year students were packed tight, filled with enough tasks to make anyone weep with gratitude.
On this particular Friday afternoon during the final period, the physics teacher had just finished lecturing Class 3-1. Immediately, their homeroom teacher—who also happened to be a physics teacher—strode into the classroom with massive steps. He claimed he was there to “offer warmth and talk about life,” but in reality, he was there to administer a test.
Amidst a wave of groans, Fu Qingya scanned the questions at lightning speed and began filling out the paper.
Thirty minutes later, he collapsed onto his desk.
However, after lying there for only a moment, Fu Qingya suddenly snapped his head up. The eyes that had been drooping lazily for days were now wide open, his sluggish demeanor replaced by a cold, sharp edge.
Under a sea of startled gazes, Fu Qingya told the homeroom teacher he had an emergency and bolted out of the classroom.
“Fu Qingya! Get back here!”
Coming to his senses, the teacher’s remaining few hairs trembled with rage. He ran to the doorway, watching Fu Qingya’s departing figure as the boy flew down the stairs and charged out of the school gates a few minutes later.
Once clear of the school, Fu Qingya ducked into a nearby alleyway where there were no surveillance cameras.
Leaning his back against the cold wall, he unbuttoned his right sleeve to reveal a watch decorated with purple jade and assembled from intricate mechanical parts.
He pressed his finger against one of the jade stones. With a click, the circular watch face split down the middle, revealing an electronic interface underneath.
His fingers flew across the screen, inputting a string of digits. The device crackled, and a pair of needle-sized mechanical arms extended. They crawled across his skin and plunged into his wrist with clinical precision.
Fu Qingya felt only a tiny prick, and then a private interface appeared before his eyes.
The interface displayed a condensed 3D holographic map of the globe, detailed enough to show even the most remote villages. Currently, a red light was flashing over a specific part of Country A.
Fu Qingya focused on the red dot, and a detailed route to the location immediately populated his vision.
He crouched down and pressed a metal disc hidden on the side of his shoe, his eyes downcast to hide the coldness and malice within.
“Those pieces of scrap metal… they’re finally here.”
His voice, a mix of calm self-restraint and neurotic excitement, echoed through the alley.
In the empty space, the tall, handsome youth silently vanished, seemingly melting into the wall itself.

Beneath the Ferris wheel at the Jiayue Amusement Park in the center of Kyoto, a diverse crowd of people bustled about—men, women, the elderly, and children, ranging from shut-ins to elite professionals.
Since it was Friday, many parents had brought their children to the park to relieve the stress of the school week.
Yi Fu was among them.
As a wealthy socialite born into a prestigious family and married to a man of equal status, Yi Fu was usually busy managing family enterprises or navigating social circles. She rarely had time to take her child out.
The reason she was at the amusement park today was because it was her son’s birthday. She and his father had specifically cleared their schedules to spend the day with him.
Because they had promised their son a “normal” family outing like his classmates, the couple hadn’t brought their assistants. They were just like any other parents, each holding one of their son’s hands as they explored the park.
Enjoying this rare quality time, little Mu Qi’s face, which was as delicate as a porcelain doll’s, was bright with a sweet smile. He was clearly having the time of his life.
Seven-year-old Mu Qi pulled his mother toward a bench near the Ferris wheel to wait for his father to buy juice. He leaned against his mother’s lap, his large, watery eyes scanning the surroundings.
His gaze soon landed on a polar bear mascot nearby handing out balloons to children. He whispered to his mother and then trotted over to the mascot.
“White Bear, can Qi Qi have a Peppa Pig balloon?”
Little Mu Qi hugged the polar bear’s chubby leg, looking up expectantly.
The child was small and exquisite, with an innocent expression that few adults could ever resist.
However, the polar bear mascot suddenly acted like a malfunctioning AI. Its fluid movements became mechanically stiff. “It” tilted its bear head down, and the area where the eyes should be began to glow with a menacing red light.
Yi Fu, who had been watching Mu Qi the whole time, immediately noticed something was wrong. Her pupils contracted, and she sprinted toward her son on pure instinct.
Rrip—
The heavy polar bear suit was torn open by a pair of mechanical, humanoid hands, revealing the person hidden inside.
It was a man dressed in long sleeves and pants, with a face so handsome he looked like a computer-generated character from a game. He had tanned skin, and from his sleeves, it was clear that from the palms down, his hands were entirely mechanical.
The man reached down with one hand and grabbed Mu Qi by the throat, lifting him into the air, while his other hand pressed against the boy’s temple.
This sudden, violent scene terrified everyone near the Ferris wheel.
People screamed and fell over themselves to escape, panicked parents grabbed their children and fled, and others immediately dialed emergency services.
The area around the Ferris wheel descended into total chaos.
Click, click—
The sound of mechanical gears turning rang out.
Yi Fu, unable to reach her son in time, stood helplessly a few meters away, watching in horror as Mu Qi struggled to breathe. Her eyes felt as though they were bleeding from the strain of her grief.
The man’s finger had transformed into something resembling a gun barrel!
It was likely a new, high-tech type of firearm.
Yi Fu’s heart leaped into her throat, her emotions on the verge of a total breakdown.
She stood there stiffly, her hands rising and falling as she trembled. Finally, staring at the cruel man, she spoke with a broken, sobbing voice.
“Let him go! I beg you, please let my child go! If you just let him go, I’ll give you whatever you want!”
“Please, let him go!”
Click—
A faint sound echoed as the man turned to look at Yi Fu. He simply watched her cry and plead, his grip on Mu Qi’s throat remaining unshaken.
The little boy, who had been smiling so sweetly just moments ago, could not make a sound in the man’s grasp. His pale face was filled with the agony of suffocation.
This man was cold and heartless. He had only snatched Mu Qi to achieve some objective; he didn’t want money or goods, and he certainly felt no pity for the mother and son.
In his eyes, Mu Qi’s life was something that could be snuffed out at a moment’s notice.
He was currently considering destroying him.
Yi Fu completely lost her mind. Disregarding the danger, she exploded with a sudden burst of strength and lunged at the man.
“Ahhh! Let go of my child!”
Her reckless move seemed to catch the man off guard. Caught by surprise, Yi Fu managed to sink her teeth into one of the mechanical fingers clutching Mu Qi.
Drip.
As her teeth slammed against the hard machinery, blood began to flow from her mouth. Yet, Yi Fu didn’t care. She continued to bite down on the man’s mechanical finger, her own hands desperately clawing at his grip, the veins in her arms bulging from the sheer force of her effort.
