The Great Magician vs. The Forensic Examiner
From high school, the great magician Ye Zhuxi had always disliked Xu Jiu.
This woman always appeared effortlessly composed and in control to outsiders, but in Ye Zhuxi’s eyes, she was nothing but arrogant! To make matters worse, they even liked the same person. How infuriating.
For three years in high school, the two clashed repeatedly, trading victories and losses, monopolizing the top two spots in every exam. Their classmates joked, “If Ye exists, why must Xu?”
After graduation, they went their separate ways until a major case brought them back together a decade later, with Xu Jiu proactively proposing a collaboration.

Ye Zhuxi thought this would be a straightforward partnership: mutual benefit, mutual assistance, and then a clean break with no debts owed.
But reality had other plans: the “annoying one” turned out to be unbearably tender and captivating, including but not limited to:
1.
Chauffeur service
Xu Jiu: “Teacher Ye is our consultant, an external member. It’s only right that I take care of you.”
2.
Three meals a day, even during breaks
Xu Jiu: “I happened to be passing by, so I brought you breakfast.”
3.
Endless warmth and concern
Xu Jiu: “I always keep a new scarf in the car just in case I ever need it.”
Gradually, Ye Zhuxi found herself mentioning Xu Jiu more and more often to family and friends.
After a sleepless night of panic, she realized: I’m doomed!

Xu Jiu had a secret, one few knew: she liked Ye Zhuxi.
Even though this woman was narcissistic, attention-seeking, and loved the spotlight not to mention mistakenly believing Xu Jiu was her romantic rival. Her flustered reactions were just too adorable, leaving an impression that lasted ten years.
A decade later, upon reuniting, Xu Jiu decided to seize the opportunity, laying out bait step by step, hoping she’d take the hook.
