The Film Empress White Moonlight Wants To Be A Salted Fish - Chapter 4
After returning home, looking at the new friend request on her phone, Lu Yiran remembered the girl from that morning. After accepting the girl’s request, the girl transferred money to Lu Yiran, who then turned off her phone and ignored her.
Since her wound hadn’t healed yet, Lu Yiran stayed home doing nothing for a few days. During this time, the malicious comments about Lu Yiran under Director Wang’s previous Weibo post increased.
Lu Yiran hadn’t planned to completely believe the words of that “hardcore fan,” but seeing this, Director Wang was indeed likely involved. Others wouldn’t go to such lengths to target her; it could only be Director Wang, who was unhappy with her.
Having been inactive for several days, Lu Yiran decided to bring some snacks and go chat with Xie Shuyao.
Lu Yiran was driven by a chauffeur to the filming location. Carrying the things, she approached the security guard. Because of the incident with Wen Shiyan last time, the guard let her in after a quick glance, his eyes showing a fear that she might summon Wen Shiyan again.
Arriving at Xie Shuyao’s lounge, after receiving Xie Shuyao’s permission to enter, Lu Yiran said to her, “Miss Xie, I brought some snacks for you. I hope you like them.”
To prevent any mishaps, Lu Yiran had secretly investigated Xie Shuyao’s preferences. The snacks were all made by Lu Yiran’s family pastry chef, and they weren’t too high in calories, perfect for an afternoon tea.
Lu Yiran placed the snacks in front of Xie Shuyao. Xie Shuyao thanked Lu Yiran and opened them to find that they were all her favorites.
Normally, for body management, her manager and assistant strictly forbade her from eating even an extra bite. She hadn’t expected Lu Yiran to bring her so much. However, she was a bit worried about gaining weight from eating so much.
Noticing Xie Shuyao’s concern, Lu Yiran explained, “These were all made at my home, so you don’t need to worry about the calories being too high.”
Hearing this, Xie Shuyao happily hugged Lu Yiran tightly, then self-consciously released her.
“Sorry, I was too excited,” Xie Shuyao said, blushing.
“It’s okay,” Lu Yiran replied. Then she heard some movement outside. “Teacher Wen can also come in and try some,” Lu Yiran said, looking towards Wen Shiyan outside the door.
Caught in the act, Wen Shiyan lightly coughed to hide her embarrassment and walked in.
Looking at Wen Shiyan, Lu Yiran felt that her mission to get the two of them together would soon be accomplished. She hadn’t realized Wen Shiyan cared about Xie Shuyao so much.
Lu Yiran and Xie Shuyao chatted and ate happily. Xie Shuyao hadn’t expected Lu Yiran to be so interesting, and the snacks Lu Yiran brought were completely different from what was available outside! The texture was much better than what she had eaten before!
Although it was a movie with three people, Wen Shiyan couldn’t interject and even lost her sense of presence.
Suddenly, Lu Yiran felt her phone vibrate. She looked down and saw a message from Chen Ziyun.
[Chen Ziyun]: There’s a party tonight. Want to come?
Lu Yiran glanced at Wen Shiyan, who was staring at Xie Shuyao, and replied to Chen Ziyun.
[Lu Yiran]: Yes!
She should leave some space for the two of them to be alone.
“I have something to do, Miss Xie, I’ll be going now,” Lu Yiran said, preparing to stand up.
Seeing Lu Yiran stand, Xie Shuyao also quickly got up. She looked at Lu Yiran and opened her mouth, finally saying,
“Teacher Lu, you can just call me Shuyao! If you feel that’s too intimate…” She sounded very hesitant at the end.
Lu Yiran smiled after hearing this and looked at Xie Shuyao: “Then, Shuyao, I’m off.”
After Lu Yiran left, Xie Shuyao stood there smiling foolishly. Wen Shiyan looked at Xie Shuyao, puzzled, and then left.
It was already half-past five in the afternoon, leaving only two hours until the appointed time. Lu Yiran rushed home to get ready, grabbed her bag, and headed out.
Chen Ziyun was already waiting for Lu Yiran outside the door. Seeing Lu Yiran emerge, Chen Ziyun opened the car door for her. Lu Yiran sighed with relief as she got in.
“But let me say this first, no drinking. You can eat whatever else you want.”
Hearing Chen Ziyun’s words, Lu Yiran didn’t answer and looked out the window.
Seeing Lu Yiran’s reaction, the corner of Chen Ziyun’s mouth twitched a few times. She silently reminded herself not to be rough with an injured person. She asked Lu Yiran with a smile, “Did you hear me?”
“I heard you. Absolutely, absolutely no drinking.”
Hearing Lu Yiran’s reply, Chen Ziyun was still a little worried. In the end, she decided to stick with Lu Yiran later.
Upon arriving at the destination, Chen Zi stopped the car. Lu Yiran got out and was about to enter the hall when she was pulled back by Chen Ziyun. Lu Yiran had no choice but to obediently follow behind Chen Ziyun.
After Lu Yiran entered, Chen Ziyun gave her some food. While Chen Ziyun was busy dealing with other people, Lu Yiran took the opportunity to sneak off to the side.
Seeing Lu Yiran not far away, Qin Mo approached her from behind with a wine glass. Looking at Lu Yiran’s hand reaching for a wine glass, Qin Mo said, “Is Miss Lu planning to drink?”
“Of course not!” Lu Yiran was startled by the person behind her. She turned around and saw it was the girl she had met a few days ago.
“Why is it you? You scared me to death,” Lu Yiran said, taking a deep breath to calm herself down.
“Haha, my bad. But Miss Lu, it’s really better not to drink,” Qin Mo said with a smile, looking at Chen Ziyun behind Lu Yiran.
“Oh, it’s fine, just a little. I’m already in such a bad mood, can’t I even have a little drink?” Lu Yiran said carelessly, reaching for the wine glass. Just as she was about to pick it up, her wrist was grabbed by someone.
“Oh, is that so?” Lu Yiran thought it was Chen Ziyun. She looked up and surprisingly saw Wen Shiyan, while Chen Ziyun was standing right behind her. Even Xie Shuyao was standing beside her, frowning and looking at her.
Lu Yiran weakly pulled her hand back and tried to discreetly look away, ready to run. But before she could move, she was grabbed by the collar by the smiling but not smiling Chen Ziyun.
Seeing that some people were about to approach Chen Ziyun, Xie Shuyao said to Chen Ziyun, “Why don’t you let Teacher Lu stay with us? I’ll keep an eye on her.”
Chen Ziyun had no choice but to entrust Xie Shuyao with keeping an eye on Lu Yiran before leaving.
“Shuyao, you don’t have to listen to her. I’m not a child,” Lu Yiran protested.
Hearing Lu Yiran’s words, Wen Shiyan chuckled softly and looked at her.
Realizing that Wen Shiyan was making fun of her, Lu Yiran flared up and glared at him.
Qin Mo stood on the side, quietly observing the three of them. For some reason, as she watched them, a very pleasant expression appeared on her face.
“Let’s go explore other places,” Qin Mo suggested from the side.
Qin Mo’s words diverted Lu Yiran’s attention. Lu Yiran “hmphed” and stopped paying attention to Wen Shiyan. Why hadn’t she realized Wen Shiyan was so annoying before!
Lu Yiran held a small cake and asked Xie Shuyao, “Shuyao, why are you here?”
“Director Wang’s treat tonight is next to this hall. We were invited to come in afterward.”
“I see.” But does that mean Director Wang is here too? Lu Yiran thought, looking around, but she couldn’t even see a shadow of Director Wang.
Lu Yiran was lowering her head and eating a small cake when she suddenly noticed a few people not far away looking at her and occasionally saying something. Lu Yiran moved closer and listened carefully. The things she heard were similar to the comments on Weibo.
“Didn’t they say she threatened Miss Xie? Why are the two of them getting along so well now?” one person said, quietly looking at Lu Yiran.
A companion next to her wanted to correct that it wasn’t Lu Yiran who made the threat, but then thought it was close enough and decided against it.
Still those same words, Lu Yiran thought to herself. She found it uninteresting to listen to and returned to Xie Shuyao and the others.
Chatting with Lu Yiran, Xie Shuyao realized that although Lu Yiran was not very good at practical acting, she was quite knowledgeable about the theory. Xie Shuyao took the opportunity to ask Lu Yiran several questions she didn’t understand. Although Lu Yiran was puzzled about why Xie Shuyao was asking her, she still answered each one seriously.
After speaking, Lu Yiran felt a little thirsty, so she casually picked up a drink nearby and drank it.
After finishing the drink, Lu Yiran felt the taste was a little off, but she didn’t think much of it.
After finishing the second glass, Lu Yiran felt a little warm. She swayed unsteadily, wanting to go out for some fresh air, but Wen Shiyan held her back.
Wen Shiyan noticed that Lu Yiran’s face looked wrong, so she grabbed her arm and gently shook her. Lu Yiran found that the scene in front of her was swaying from side to side. She looked curious and tried to walk forward.
Wen Shiyan snatched the cup from Lu Yiran’s hand and smelled it, finding the sweet and sour scent of fruit. She tasted a little and realized it was alcohol. No wonder Lu Yiran took the wrong drink.
Wen Shiyan had thought that Lu Yiran’s manager forbade her from drinking because she could drink too much. Who knew it was because she couldn’t handle it.
Seeing Lu Yiran held by Wen Shiyan, Qin Mo came up to them: “Is Miss Lu drunk?”
Wen Shiyan led Lu Yiran away from Qin Mo and nodded.
Xie Shuyao also rushed over to Lu Yiran, breathless. She had only gone to get some food for Lu Yiran, and in just a moment, Lu Yiran had collapsed.
“Please tell Miss Chen, I’ll take Miss Lu home first,” Qin Mo said, reaching out to hug Lu Yiran and take her away.
Thinking that Lu Yiran and Qin Mo didn’t seem very familiar with each other, Wen Shiyan stopped Qin Mo and pressed Lu Yiran into her arms.
“I think I’ll wait for Miss Chen. I don’t trust you,” Wen Shiyan said. Qin Mo was stunned for a moment after hearing this, then shrugged and stood aside, looking unconcerned.
Xie Shuyao took out a wet wipe and helped Lu Yiran wipe her face and forehead. Lu Yiran rubbed against Wen Shiyan’s arms comfortably.
Looking at the restless Lu Yiran in her arms, Wen Shiyan really wanted to throw her out, but considering that Lu Yiran was drunk and had an injury on her arm, she squashed the idea.
It was fortunate that photography was strictly forbidden here, otherwise, if the sight of the two of them was posted online, Lu Yiran would face a new wave of insults.
Before Chen Ziyun arrived, Xie Shuyao explained to her that Lu Yiran hadn’t drunk on purpose. When Chen Ziyun saw Lu Yiran’s state, she held her forehead and couldn’t help but sigh.
“Thank you for taking care of her. I’ll take her away now.”
In the car, looking at the carefree sleeping Lu Yiran, Chen Ziyun’s mood was complex.
Because Lu Yiran was drunk, and Chen Ziyun was afraid that Pei Ruochu and the others might misunderstand, Chen Ziyun took Lu Yiran back to her own home.
As soon as she got home, Chen Ziyun received a message from Wen Shiyan.
Wen Shiyan: [When you get back, you can give her some hangover soup.]
Chen Ziyun: [Received.]
Wen Shiyan had asked Chen Ziyun to add her as a friend before Chen Ziyun left, and Chen Ziyun couldn’t refuse in person, so she did.
Chen Ziyun had previously agreed with Lu Yiran not to contact Wen Shiyan, but now they were friends. Chen Ziyun looked at Lu Yiran “with great sorrow”: “Sorry, sis.”
“Sorry for what?” Lu Yiran woke up, rubbing her eyes, and asked.
“Nothing, drink this,” Chen Ziyun said, putting a cup into Lu Yiran’s hand. After drinking it, Lu Yiran fell asleep again.
It was almost noon. Lu Yiran woke up, illuminated by the dazzling sunlight, and suddenly remembered that she had been hugging Wen Shiyan all last night.
Lu Yiran instantly froze on the bed.
