- Chapter 30 - So, This Is What Love Feels Like
As the unexpected kiss descended, Shen Guai instinctively recoiled, but her chin was held in a grip by Qin Chaomu that was painful enough to sting.
“Qin Chaomu… mmm…”
Shen Guai bit down hard on Qin Chaomu’s lower lip. Qin Chaomu, showing no mercy, bit back just as fiercely, the pain bringing tears to Shen Guai’s eyes.
“You motherfu.. mmm… Qin Chaomu, you pervert…”
Shen Guai beat against her repeatedly. Qin Chaomu opened her eyes; beneath long lashes, those upturned eyes revealed the “lower sanpaku” (whites showing below the iris) look that Shen Guai feared so much.
Qin Chaomu kissed Shen Guai’s lips lightly, her voice carrying an irresistible pressure: “There are cameras everywhere outside. If you don’t want to go back to the countryside to farm, cooperate.”
“Co…cooperate how…” Shen Guai stared with wide eyes, feigning ignorance.
“Enjoy my kiss properly.”
With that, Qin Chaomu pressed down again.
Shen Guai hooked her arms around Qin Chaomu’s neck, a barely perceptible curve touching the corner of her mouth. She inhaled greedily at the scent unique to Qin Chaomu, the soft friction against her lips making her lose herself in the moment.
Shen Guai’s hands moved upward to cup Qin Chaomu’s face, her fingertips rhythmically pressing against skin as smooth as a newborn’s. Shen Guai’s ears flushed red.
She carefully extended the tip of her tongue, tentatively licking Qin Chaomu’s Cupid’s bow. Qin Chaomu’s lips carried a faint sweetness of peach, tasting incredibly tempting.
Shen Guai’s tongue pushed forward slowly, prying open Qin Chaomu’s teeth to find her soft tongue.
Feeling Qin Chaomu’s breathing grow heavier, Shen Guai unbuckled her seatbelt and pulled Qin Chaomu into her arms, greedily occupying every inch of air surrounding her.
As the kiss became more entangled and deeper, Shen Guai’s grip on Qin Chaomu tightened. She wanted to brand every breath Qin Chaomu took as her own.
Once her tongue slipped inside, she gave Qin Chaomu no chance to breathe. Taking her by surprise, Shen Guai pushed Qin Chaomu back, compressing the space so she couldn’t retreat.
She made it impossible for her to stop the kiss.
Qin Chaomu opened her eyes, meeting Shen Guai’s misty, ambiguous gaze. Qin Chaomu’s face instantly turned crimson, she tried to use her eyes to signal Shen Guai to stop.
But Shen Guai only kissed harder. A sense of suffocation spread through Qin Chaomu’s body. Lacking the strength to resist, she could only emit heavy breaths in the gaps between gasps, mixed with shallow murmurs.
Shen Guai loved the sound of Qin Chaomu’s breathing. Qin Chaomu only seemed soft and fragrant when her mouth was shut. Shen Guai kissed her wantonly, her vivid eyes watching like a cat waiting for its prey’s reaction.
The moment a cat enjoys most when hunting is the moment the prey loses control.
With tongues entwined, Qin Chaomu was like meat on a chopping board to Shen Guai, unable to escape her palm.
The initial gentle caresses evolved into repeated collisions. Shen Guai’s small, pink tongue blocked Qin Chaomu’s teeth, the first step of hunting is to strip the prey of its ability to resist.
Following the rhythm of Qin Chaomu’s heartbeat, Shen Guai lightly bit her lip until Qin Chaomu’s cheeks grew redder and redder, so red that Shen Guai could feel the burning heat radiating from them.
Her cat-like eyes scrutinized the flush on Qin Chaomu’s face. Shen Guai disliked Qin Chaomu’s lips because they were too good at lying.
Shen Guai finally let go, looking innocently at Qin Chaomu, who was covering her mouth with her fingers, gasping for air.
She knew Qin Chaomu had lost her composure.
“You can go now.”
Qin Chaomu’s fingertips nearly dug into the steering wheel. She struggled to steady her breathing, wondering how this little girl had become such a skilled kisser…
Shen Guai made a “pop” sound with her lips and pouted. “Qin Chaomu, just how many people have you slept with?”
“Get out of the car.” Qin Chaomu honked the horn irritably. “Go to the hotel, get a room, and wait for me inside.”
Shen Guai suddenly leaned in and hugged her, shaking her head. “If you don’t tell me, I won’t listen to you.”
“If you like having sex in front of cameras, I don’t mind if you don’t listen,” Qin Chaomu countered, wrapping her arms around Shen Guai’s neck.
Defeated, Shen Guai let go and got out of the car.
Ten minutes later, Qin Chaomu opened the car door. She looked around to ensure there were no cameras nearby before walking quickly into the hotel.
At the same time, a cropped video of Shen Guai entering the hotel was posted online with the headline: #ShenGuai Unaffected by Scandals, Secret Late Night Meeting with Mysterious Woman at Hotel
The video went viral instantly. Shen Guai’s latest Weibo and short video posts were flooded with insults.
If the daytime video was too blurry to confirm it was Shen Guai, allowing fans to stand by her, this high-definition nighttime video left them with no defense.
Qin Chaomu pushed open the hotel room door. Shen Guai was lying on the bed in a pink nightgown in just ten minutes, she had already finished her shower.
“You certainly have a thick skin.”
Qin Chaomu leaned against the doorframe, squinting at the girl on the bed eating cherries.
“Qin Chaomu, you set me up again!”
Shen Guai spat out a pit, dropped her phone, and sat cross-legged on the bed.
“What’s the rush?”
Qin Chaomu tossed her phone to Shen Guai. It showed a screenshot: a large number of marketing accounts were set to release the video of them kissing in the car and Qin Chaomu entering the hotel in five hours.
“So, you released the ‘black’ video of me first to cover up the rumors of your cheating? Then, once the netizens start discussing it and the heat builds up, you’ll release the clarification video? Is that it?”
Qin Chaomu nodded, hanging her coat on the rack.
“Why not just clarify directly?” Shen Guai asked, puzzled.
“Do you think the public believes what they see, or what they hear from others?”
“What they see, obviously.” Shen Guai bit into another cherry.
Qin Chaomu took off her earrings and placed them on the nightstand. “A joint clarification would only make people think we are a ‘contract couple’ forced together for the sake of our careers.”
“People prefer explosive gossip over a dry piece of paper. Last night’s blurry video wasn’t enough to bury you.”
“The video of you entering the hotel today isn’t enough either. But combined, they are enough to make fans lose faith in you.”
“What we need to do is release the most spectacular reversal at the peak of public opinion.”
“Oh, so the person I’m ‘dating’ at the hotel is actually you?” Shen Guai understood.
Qin Chaomu’s eyes darkened, though a smile remained on her face. “Then, the woman from last night’s video will appear online and tell everyone she was the real protagonist. I will also release evidence proving those hotel records were just someone with the same name as you.”
“You will emerge unscathed. And I, because I stood by you in a moment of crisis, will be seen as a hero. People will believe in our ‘true feelings.’ Who will care about those groundless accusations then?”
To Qin Chaomu’s surprise, Shen Guai didn’t scream or shout this time. Instead, she hugged a pillow, her gaze filled with a complexity Qin Chaomu couldn’t read.
After two seconds of silence, Shen Guai finally cursed as if just remembering to: “Qin Chaomu, you are so damn shameless!”
If the old Qin Chaomu was just prey that Shen Guai had to catch, the Qin Chaomu of this moment had transcended that.
Shen Guai had never met another young woman with such a meticulous and deep mind.
Previously, she only thought Qin Chaomu was a beautiful woman who incited desire, a snow lotus on a high mountain that couldn’t be touched.
Shen Guai realized she was wrong. Qin Chaomu was a rose, a wild mountain rose covered in thorns.
The kind of “bad woman” whose roots are rotting but whose exterior is breathtakingly beautiful.
Shen Guai liked women with brains. Vaguely, she felt that Qin Chaomu’s soul was beginning to resonate with her own.
A worthy opponent. This cat-and-mouse game was getting interesting.
“Qin Chaomu, can I ask you something?”
As Shen Guai stood up, Qin Chaomu caught a glimpse of her collarbone, and her heart skipped a beat.
Qin Chaomu didn’t respond, she just took a small sip of mineral water.
“You sold your car to save me, didn’t you?” Shen Guai looked at her intently.
“So? How are you going to repay me?”
Qin Chaomu walked to the bed and pressed Shen Guai down.
Shen Guai didn’t answer. She straightened her back and gave Qin Chaomu a light kiss on the cheek.
Qin Chaomu’s heart trembled. A second later, she grabbed the hem of Shen Guai’s nightgown, her voice hitting Shen Guai’s heart like a drumbeat.
“Pay me back with your body.”
“Until I get bored.”
Qin Chaomu narrowed her eyes, looking at the distracting nightgown. She silenced Shen Guai with a kiss and whispered like a demon, “Call me ‘Sister,’ and I might consider being gentle.”
Shen Guai froze, her face flushing a deep red. She whispered, “Sister…”
Qin Chaomu suddenly burst out laughing. She ruffled Shen Guai’s hair, pulled away, and mocked: “What were you thinking? Yi Feng didn’t take the money, you don’t owe me anything.”
“Even if he had taken it, I wouldn’t do something like that.”
“If I forced you to be my lover because of three million, how would I be any different from the people who hurt you?”
Shen Guai was stunned. She stared blankly at Qin Chaomu. This woman was truly different.
A dangerous thought sprouted in Shen Guai’s heart.
She was afraid she was falling in love with Qin Chaomu.
“What about Yi Feng? I heard he left the hospital after only a day. Did he cause you any trouble?”
Shen Guai shook her head, her thoughts drifting back to Yi Feng.
At 4:00 AM that morning, just as two thugs were about to drive away with the “dead” Yi Feng, a middle-aged man stopped the car and knocked them both out in seconds.
And Yi Feng, who had been shot, miraculously “came back to life.”
Shen Guai had ultimately given Yi Feng a way out. The clothes she gave him were indeed A-Ken’s, but inside were a bulletproof vest and a note.
It read: Run. Keep running. If you hear a gunshot, you must play dead. Someone will save you.
A-Ken had taken the terrified Yi Feng to the pier. There, the long-awaited private yacht finally appeared before him.
Shen Guai knew that once Yi Feng boarded that yacht to Macau, he would never come back.
