The Eldest Lady always wants to have a double O Relationship with her old enemy - Chapter 6
Tang Yanzhao was indeed called to the office. She stood calmly in front of her form teacher, Xu Hui.
“What is this?” Xu Hui slapped her phone down in front of her, her tone full of accusation.
Tang Yanzhao looked down at the video, which was clearly the handiwork of Shen Jianxi and her friends. The repulsive comments from the forum also came into view.
“Explain yourself.”
Tang Yanzhao lowered her head, her chest feeling tight. Her hands, hanging by her sides, were clenched into fists.
“I didn’t do it.” Tang Yanzhao could only deny it firmly.
But those three words seemed so powerless in the face of the video. Xu Hui angrily slammed her hand on the desk. “Then what about the video? Yang Yuhan has explained everything clearly. It was you, Tang Yanzhao, who tried to lure her into a rut. People can lie, but a video can’t, can it? What more do you have to say?”
“…”
Yes, what more could she say?
Given Yang Yuhan’s family background, it would be difficult for her to have the surveillance footage intercepted and posted on the forum in less than 24 hours.
Besides, why would Yang Yuhan dare to have the footage retrieved herself? That was evidence of her own illegal activity.
The only one who could have done this was Shen Jianxi.
Shen Jianxi had righteously claimed she would punish Yang Yuhan for her, treat her wounds, help her reject harassers, and remember her lactose intolerance…
In just one day, Tang Yanzhao had started to believe that Shen Jianxi was approaching her, condescending to her level, and accepting someone as insignificant as her.
But when a person fantasizes about things beyond their reach, they’re ultimately met with humiliation.
Just like now, a sudden blow struck Tang Yanzhao, leaving her head spinning and her chest aching.
If Shen Jianxi had never been kind to her, if she had remained as she was when they first met, Tang Yanzhao would have accepted the situation calmly.
But Shen Jianxi had given her a glimmer of hope…
Tang Yanzhao’s silence was taken by Xu Hui as an admission of guilt. Xu Hui’s confidence grew. “It’s understandable for people from your background to have some improper thoughts at Rongqing, but you shouldn’t have done it this way. Randomly releasing pheromones between an AO to lure the other is illegal. If Yang Yuhan insists on pursuing this, your life will be ruined. Do you understand?”
The crime was easily placed upon her, just like her inescapable past.
Xu Hui sighed as if in resignation, taking on the role of a mediator. “You’re still young. Fortunately, this incident didn’t lead to irreversible consequences. Go and write a letter of apology, and apologize to Yang Yuhan and her friends. If they’re willing to settle privately, there might still be a way to salvage this.”
Tang Yanzhao didn’t know how she left the office. The blazing sun shone on her, scorching her skin, but it couldn’t warm the coldness in the dark corners of her heart.
“Where did you go? I was just looking for you.”
Suddenly, Shen Jianxi ran up to her with a beaming smile, her pure and carefree laughter dazzlingly bright.
Tang Yanzhao secretly bit the inside of her cheek until she tasted blood, then finally released her teeth. She replied coldly, “To get some water.”
Her chest was tight. She didn’t know how to face Shen Jianxi, so she replied with a bitter, strained tone.
Shen Jianxi looked at her empty hands. “Then where’s your cup?”
Tang Yanzhao lied without a change in expression. “I forgot it.”
Shen Jianxi furrowed her brow in confusion. “What’s wrong with you? Is your stomach bothering you again?”
“Yeah.”
“Let’s go back then. It’s almost lunchtime. You can take your medicine after you eat.”
This time, Tang Yanzhao pulled her hand away from Shen Jianxi’s grip.
Shen Jianxi paused for a moment and didn’t insist, assuming Tang Yanzhao was just a little cranky because she wasn’t feeling well.
But this little crankiness seemed to last for a while.
On Saturday, Shen Jianxi woke up naturally and asked about Tang Yanzhao’s whereabouts.
Aunt Zhou replied, “She moved to the school dorms this morning.”
Shen Jianxi’s brow furrowed. “Did she mention me?”
“No, she left without even eating breakfast.”
Tang Yanzhao’s sudden departure caught Shen Jianxi completely off guard. She had promised to move to the school dorms with her yesterday, so why did she suddenly leave without a word?
Shen Jianxi got a little temperamental. After eating breakfast alone, she sat on the couch, sulking. She repeatedly checked her phone, tapping the screen noisily, but the pinned chat conversation remained without a new message.
“Great, Tang Yanzhao,” she said through gritted teeth.
Around 3 p.m., Shen Jianxi, with her suitcase, got into the car to go to the school dorms.
Since AO genders were a minority among the three AB-O genders, the school didn’t have many dorms specifically for them. Tang Yanzhao’s room was one that had been specially arranged. The other residents in the dorm were two high-school seniors, one high-school freshman, and Tang Yanzhao.
Shen Jianxi’s request for accommodation was last-minute, but with Shen Xiaoyin’s arrangement, she was able to get a private room on the same floor as Tang Yanzhao, just at the end of the hallway.
Shen Jianxi had already gathered all this information before she came. She dawdled until 6 p.m. before finally giving in.
She realized she couldn’t wait for the stubborn blockhead to explain herself.
This was the first time the proud young lady had to swallow her pride, and it was all for Tang Yanzhao.
Shen Jianxi took the fox plushie she had brought with her and walked to the door of room 513. She raised her hand and knocked. Tang Yanzhao opened the door quite quickly. When she saw the expressionless Shen Jianxi, she just asked coldly, “What is it?”
“Can’t I come find you if there’s nothing wrong?”
Shen Jianxi was not one to tolerate being wronged. The fact that she hadn’t heard from Tang Yanzhao had already made her angry, and now Tang Yanzhao was talking to her like this. It was inevitable that Shen Jianxi’s words were laced with sarcasm.
Tang Yanzhao clearly couldn’t be bothered to argue with her. Even if she noticed Shen Jianxi’s mood, she didn’t care. She replied heartlessly, “I have things to do.”
With that, she went to close the door directly. The muffled sound echoed in the hallway, and the breeze gently ruffled Shen Jianxi’s hair. Her pupils widened as she stared in disbelief at the closed door in front of her.
How dare she close the door on me?! How dare she leave me standing outside?! Couldn’t she see that I was angry? Didn’t she feel guilty at all for breaking her promise? Didn’t she think about explaining anything to me?
It was as if a storm had broken out overnight. Did everything she had done for her mean nothing?
Or was she still half asleep, not knowing who she was talking to?
Shen Jianxi’s mind was racing with questions.
Time ticked by. People occasionally passed in the hallway, and the rustling sounds quickly faded back to silence. The door in front of her remained closed the entire time.
Shen Jianxi looked at the fox plushie in her hand, filled with disbelief.
The plushie had brown fur with a few white hairs on its tail. Its round, red eyes stared at you, looking very serious, but a few strands of pink fur on the tips of its ears added a touch of cuteness.
She thought it looked a lot like Tang Yanzhao. That’s why she spent two hours on Friday night trying to win it from a claw machine. Even the driver couldn’t stand it and offered to buy it from the owner, but Shen Jianxi insisted on winning it herself because it had a different meaning.
This was also the first official gift she was giving to Tang Yanzhao.
But now, looking at the fox plushie, she was reminded of Tang Yanzhao’s attitude toward her. Anger drove her to raise her arm, intending to throw the plushie against the door in frustration.
“You stupid plushie!”
But just as she was about to do it, Shen Jianxi suddenly came to her senses, stopping herself from acting impulsively. She lowered her hand, glaring at the plushie with a pang of guilt.
“This is all your fault!” Shen Jianxi ground her teeth in frustration, and finally “viciously” poked its belly.
Grudge-holding Xi’s record: “I’ll deal with you later.”
Shen Jianxi stood at the door, taking a moment to compose herself, then knocked again.
About half a minute later, Tang Yanzhao opened the door. When she saw that it was still Shen Jianxi, a flicker of annoyance crossed her calm face. “What do you want now?”
Shen Jianxi handed her the fox plushie with a straight face, saying stiffly, “It’s for you.”
Tang Yanzhao glanced at it casually. “I don’t want it.”
Having been rejected twice, Shen Jianxi shoved the plushie into Tang Yanzhao’s arms, her tone leaving no room for argument. “You have to take it.”
Tang Yanzhao calmly handed the plushie back to her. “I said I don’t need it, Miss Shen. We have no relationship, do we?”
Shen Jianxi’s actions froze. Her gaze fell on Tang Yanzhao’s impassive face. After a moment of thought, she asked tentatively, “Are you throwing a tantrum?”
“No.”
“Then explain why you left without a word.”
“I don’t think I have any obligation to explain anything about myself to Miss Shen. If you have nothing else, please leave.”
She was about to close the door again. Shen Jianxi, seeing this, quickly reached out to stop it. As expected, Tang Yanzhao wasn’t able to close the door, and Shen Jianxi’s fingers got caught. The pain made her close her eyes.
Tang Yanzhao’s expression finally changed. She quickly pulled the door open. Shen Jianxi shook her hand wildly. Tears welled up in her little cat-like eyes, and in a fit of anger, she blurted out, “Tang Yanzhao, I don’t like you anymore.”
“…”
Tang Yanzhao took hold of her slender fingers. There was a red mark on the back of her four fingers, excluding her thumb, from where they had just been caught.
“Come in.”
Shen Jianxi was seated at the desk by Tang Yanzhao. Tang Yanzhao took out a portable first-aid kit, expertly poured some bruise-healing medicine into her palm and rubbed it to warm it up, then grabbed Shen Jianxi’s injured hand.
Shen Jianxi, who was not used to manual labor, had much finer skin than Tang Yanzhao. It felt as soft as a cloud cake. The red mark on her fair fingers looked pitiful.
“How does it feel?” Tang Yanzhao’s tone was still cold, but it was inexplicably a little better than it had been at the door. She was probably feeling guilty.
Shen Jianxi’s eyes were red, just like the little fox in front of her. She let out a defiant “Hmph” through her nose.
Tang Yanzhao sighed in resignation and stopped asking questions. She focused on treating her injury and instructed, “Try not to use this hand much for the next few days.”
Shen Jianxi watched her put away the first-aid kit. Since this blockhead wasn’t going to comfort her on her own, Shen Jianxi slapped the fox plushie on the table. “Do you want this or not?”
It was a take-it-or-leave-it attitude.
Tang Yanzhao turned to look at it. “Yes.”
Shen Jianxi put her hands on her lap and lifted her chin slightly, like a proud peacock. “So what’s really going on with you?”
“My stomach isn’t feeling well.” Tang Yanzhao explained.
The stomach is an emotional organ, so it’s understandable for someone to lose control when it’s not feeling well.
This excuse was indeed very effective.
Shen Jianxi pursed her lips, her tone a little stiff. “Did you take your medicine?”
“Yes.”
Shen Jianxi saw that her face did look pale, and half of her anger dissipated. “Well, if you’re not feeling well, you can tell me.”
Tang Yanzhao didn’t have much of a reaction, just a meaningful “Mhm.”
“Your stomach has been bothering you for days. Let me take you to the hospital to get it checked out.”
“No need. I’ll be fine after some rest.”
Shen Jianxi was silent for a moment. “Alright, you rest. If you don’t feel well, text me. And don’t treat me like you did this afternoon again, got it?”
“Mhm.”
