The Eldest Lady always wants to have a double O Relationship with her old enemy - Chapter 47
Tang Yanzhao arrived quickly. When she entered the room, it was empty, and her eyes immediately focused on the large bed in the center. Lying there was Shen Xianzhi, her face flushed, fumbling with her clothes and moaning in discomfort.
This group of people really went too far—leaving her alone here. What if something had happened and she couldn’t come?
Tang Yanzhao’s chest filled with a little anger, but her priority, of course, was Shen Xianzhi.
She walked over and gently touched Shen Xianzhi’s burning face, her voice soft as water: “Xianzhi, can you still hear me?”
Shen Xianzhi blinked sleepily and smiled foolishly. “Yanzhao… I really like you.”
“……”
Tang Yanzhao bit her tongue. She had tried to numb herself through study to avoid thinking too much, but Shen Xianzhi was simply too strong—just a few words could shatter the self-control she had once taken pride in.
“I’ll take you to wash up.”
Shen Xianzhi suddenly wrapped her arms around Tang Yanzhao’s neck, shaking her head in a spoiled manner. “No.”
“Then what do you want to do?”
“I want you.”
Her heartbeat began to spiral out of control.
Tang Yanzhao saw her flushed face turning pale before her eyes under the lights. After coughing a couple of times, a little blood appeared at the corners of her lips.
Her heart skipped a beat. Tang Yanzhao gently pried Shen Xianzhi’s hand away, walked to the floor-to-ceiling window, and looked out at the clustered skyscrapers. Her chest felt heavy, and she felt deeply troubled.
She couldn’t be with Shen Xianzhi.
Because she couldn’t control her feelings; being near her would make her fall.
Tang Yanzhao inhaled deeply, trying to steady her trembling breath.
Equally difficult was figuring out how to tell her they had to be apart.
This problem was far more difficult than any puzzle she had solved recently.
Finally, Tang Yanzhao could only call Shen Xiaoyin. She really couldn’t handle it herself.
This time, when Shen Xianzhi woke up, she received a message from Tang Yanzhao:
“I’m attending a competition training session. I may be out of contact for a long time.”
There was only one slot for this training session in each city. Tang Yanzhao hadn’t planned to accept it at first. First, she preferred studying alone, believing it would be more effective. Second, she didn’t want to reintegrate into an unfamiliar circle and deal with those people.
But after last night’s incident, she accepted the slot.
She also faced the reality clearly—staying in the same city as Shen Xianzhi would be the worst.
So she considered herself cowardly and hoped that time and distance could calm her down. Words could not fix this—let time handle it.
Shen Xianzhi lay helplessly on the bed, letting out a long sigh.
With prior preparation, the sudden separation didn’t feel completely unbearable. Even though they had seen each other every day before, problems still existed in between.
“Xianzhi, you’re awake.”
Hearing the voice, Shen Xianzhi looked up and saw Shen Xiaoyin holding a glass of water. “Get up and drink some honey water. You’ll feel better.”
Only then did she sit up and accept it. “Thank you, Mom.”
Her appearance wasn’t a surprise; it must have been Ye Tao and Jiang Lan who called her.
No wonder—the fruit wine was made to look exactly like juice.
After a simple wash in the hotel, Shen Xianzhi went home with her.
For a long time afterward, Shen Xianzhi and Tang Yanzhao maintained a dull online chatting pattern.
It felt a bit like the heat of a new romance had faded, their interactions becoming bland.
But it wasn’t that at all—Shen Xianzhi’s heart was full of feelings she wanted to express. She just had to endure, especially since it was Tang Yanzhao’s crucial period. She was almost like a Ninja Turtle holding it all in.
Hua yan, watching as an amused onlooker, called Shen Xianzhi over. “You look miserable every day. Afraid everyone will notice your heartbreak?”
Shen Xianzhi glared. “I’m not heartbroken.”
Hua yan smirked. “Then… are you in love?”
“……”
Only those who knew her well knew where the knife would cut deepest.
“I’ll give you two days off. Go see her. Staying here is a waste of time.” Hua yan said.
Shen Xianzhi refused. “No, I won’t disturb her.”
“You think seeing her once will make her lose her mind? You’re not going to be stuck with her all day neglecting your studies. Besides, she has only one month left before exams. Go see her, help her relax a bit so she doesn’t stress herself too much.”
Shen Xianzhi realized she had a point and immediately booked an early morning flight to Beicheng.
Upon landing at dawn, she yawned and left the airport.
Without contacting Tang Yanzhao in advance, she took a taxi to the hotel and estimated the timing to send her a message.
She waited a long time with no reply, so she dialed the number.
When the phone was answered with a simple “Hello,” Shen Xianzhi immediately sensed something was wrong.
This was not Yanzhao’s voice.
Her expression turned serious. “Who is this?” she said, her voice low and steady.
“This is Beicheng People’s Hospital. Are you a friend of Tang’s?”
“Hearing the word hospital,” Shen Xianzhi’s fingernails dug into her palms. “Yes.”
“I thought you were an adult when I called. Never mind. Have your guardian come instead.”
“I’m asking about her. What happened to her?” The heiress’s patience snapped.
The nurse didn’t care. “She was induced into… a state and is resting.”
“Her blood?”
“From a fight.”
Shen Xianzhi exhaled sharply in relief. “Okay, I understand.”
The nurse wanted to add more about paperwork, but Shen Xianzhi cut her off.
After all, this was her family’s hospital. Even if Shen Xianzhi wasn’t involved, one call could handle all the procedures.
By the time she reached the bedside, Shen Xianzhi focused on Tang Yanzhao lying in bed, bloodied and obviously uncomfortable. She gently held her hand, the faint scent of grapefruit rum still lingering, along with a trace of hostility.
“Yanzhao,” she whispered.
Tang Yanzhao, drowsy, opened her eyes. “Why are you here?”
She tried to sit up.
Shen Xianzhi propped up her pillow. “I missed you and came to see you. Didn’t expect your ‘welcome gift’ to be this.”
Her tone was teasingly sarcastic.
Tang Yanzhao’s expression was calm. “I’m fine.”
Shen Xianzhi let out a soft chuckle. “Tell me, why were you fighting?”
Tang Yanzhao’s bright eyes were rare as she swallowed, blinking to avoid her gaze. She explained, “Someone tried to steal my safety pendant and broke it.”
Seeing the broken pendant and scattered fragments in her palm, the black string snapped, Shen Xianzhao fell silent for a moment.
She didn’t need comfort over a pendant—it was about the safety it symbolized. Who could destroy such a blessing? She couldn’t tolerate it.
“Who?” she asked simply.
Tang Yanzhao, solitary and introverted, never remembered other people’s names unless necessary.
“Someone from the same batch of the competition.”
“Name?”
“I don’t remember.”
Shen Xianzhao understood her personality—isolated, independent, unwilling to make friends or remember others unless necessary.
“Okay, I know.”
Shen Xianzhi tugged down the neckline of Tang Yanzhao’s T-shirt, revealing the red marks clearly—deep, painful scratches. She traced them gently with her fingertips, full of concern.
“Does it hurt?”
“No.”
“How could it not hurt? These are deep marks.”
If Tang Yanzhao hadn’t been capable of defending herself, this incident could have been fatal.
Thinking of the danger, Shen Xianzhi’s tears brimmed.
Tang Yanzhao reached out to wipe them but hesitated. Shen Xianzhi buried her face in her shoulder.
“Yanzhao, let’s go home, okay?”
“I’m really fine,” Tang Yanzhao said, her chest aching, trying to keep her voice steady.
“It’s me who’s the problem,” Shen Xianzhi said pitifully. “I can’t be alone. After you left, the whole world seems empty. Everywhere I look, it’s you—but you’re nowhere to be found. I miss you constantly. Yanzhao, you’re really important to me. If I hadn’t come to see you, would you even have told me about this?”
Tang Yanzhao fell silent.
She wouldn’t have told her—not about this, or about any minor mistreatment during training.
Shen Xianzhi’s small cat-like eyes were red from crying, coughing up a little blood, staining her lips faintly.
Tang Yanzhao handed her a piece of paper. Shen Xianzhi spoke automatically, “Come back with me, okay?”
Tang Yanzhao was only truly safe when Shen Xianzhi was by her side.
