The Devil's Contract Lover - Chapter 19
“Why are there only these bizarre phone scammers?” Yao Yuan stepped on the back of the young man in the suit, taking out his wallet and counting back her money.
“To be deceived by such a foolish method… I’m not talking about you.” Xingkong (Starry Sky) smiled and patted her head: “You were deliberately deceived; it’s different.”
“Tsk tsk tsk, anyway, I don’t have time for the rest of the business. I’ll leave it to the other victims.” Yao Yuan walked over to the computer and used the scammer’s group messaging software.
She changed the text to: [The address of the scammer is xxxx-xxx. Those who want to deal with it, please come over as soon as possible or report directly to the police.]
The Friday sun gradually set, and the two sat at the port, waiting for the group owner to send people to pick them up.
The chat group became active: Moonstone: [We’re here~ owo] Lapis Lazuli: [Very good, please wait a moment.] Turquoise: [Just to confirm again, we board the ship at 6 PM tonight and disembark at 6 PM on Sunday?] Lapis Lazuli: [Yes.] Fire Opal: [I’m here. Moonstone, where are you?]
Why did Fire Opal ask where I was? Yao Yuan paused for a moment.
Perhaps she enjoys meeting group members. This person is usually quite active in the group, constantly pushing various occult items, more like a salesperson than a salesperson, a rich girl following the same path as the group owner.
“Moonstone, you must be Moonstone.”
“Fire Opal?” Yao Yuan put down her phone on which she had just typed the two words “I am.”
In the sea breeze, Fire Opal’s bright red small hat instantly flew off. The girl, dressed all in red, caught the hat with one hand and tightly held onto her parasol with the other.
She scrutinized Yao Yuan without restraint, and Yao Yuan couldn’t help but look back at the exaggerated all-red outfit: a small red hat, a red necktie, ruby decorations, a red lolita dress, red and white bi-colored knee socks, red leather shoes, a red parasol…
It really couldn’t get any redder! If it weren’t for the white lace and golden edges, she would look like a red chili with the stem removed.
“Let me tell you first—” the girl, no older than 17, lifted her face, and the deep red ruby on her finger shone brightly: “I will crush every guy who gets in my way. Submit quickly if you don’t want to die.”
What should you do when someone points a finger at you?
Before you could say “Jack Robinson,” Yao Yuan raised her claw and grabbed that big, round… gemstone ring!
She tightly clenched the opponent’s index finger with her right hand, while also pulling it downwards.
“You, let go!”
“That’s not how you apologize, is it?”
Screeech, Fire Opal’s precious ring came off her finger.
Yao Yuan smugly twirled the ring: “Apologize properly if you don’t want to be thrown into the sea! After all, this thing is your Natal Spiritual Artifact, right?”
To deal with Chuunibyou, you must use Chuunibyou methods! Since the most conspicuous thing on her whole body was this ring, the “Natal Spiritual Artifact” that girl advocated for was probably this thing.
“You’re robbing me!”
“Really~? Then what were you talking about with ‘submit’ and all that? Aren’t you trying to restore slavery?” The hand holding the ring swayed, making a tossing motion, frightening Fire Opal to take a step back.
“Don’t mess around! Do you really want to provoke me? Aren’t you afraid of the flames of hell… Ahhhhh!”
“Pffft, so timid.” Yao Yuan withdrew the hand she had pretended to throw, and the ring lay safely in her palm.
Fire Opal rushed over to grab it but was easily blocked by Xingkong.
“Darn it, being arrogant because you have a familiar!”
“Familiar?”
“I mean the guy next to you. Hiring a familiar with money is too foul.” Fire Opal was too short and couldn’t jump high enough to get past.
“Here, I’m returning it. Be careful next time.” Yao Yuan suddenly felt better, raised her hand, and tossed the gemstone ring back onto the opponent’s hat, startling Fire Opal into yelping.
“We’re all group members, stop fooling around.” She reached out to shake hands and make peace with Fire Opal, but the child glared at her and sulked, shrinking to the side.
“Ladies, you may board the ship now. There will be staff to greet the other members.”
The woman who appeared before them had bare shoulders, wrapped in a Greek-style robe. The edges of the robe were rolled up in a vivid cyan-green, and the trailing hem of the skirt surprisingly hadn’t touched any dust.
“You are…”
“Lapis Lazuli.”
“Ah~ the administrator. Okay, we’ll go up now.” Yao Yuan’s hand reached forward slightly, but seeing that the other party remained motionless, she obediently dropped it.
Lapis Lazuli’s ankles jingled with bells as she walked, a continuous ding-ding-dang all the way into the passenger cabin. She opened two rooms for them: “Please choose one.” Then she nodded and disappeared into the darkness.
“It’s dark so fast? Just getting on a ship.” While Yao Yuan looked up, Fire Opal had already darted into the left room and locked the door.
“Let’s go in too,” she chuckled, entering the right room.
The internal furnishings were somewhat strange, almost entirely wooden furniture; the bed, table, and chairs were very classical. On the far left of the room was an empty glass cabinet, and a golden key was inserted directly above the glass cabinet.
Apart from the key, the lock, and the cabin structure, no other metal objects were visible; even the handles were ceramic.
Knock knock knock, a blonde youth wearing white gloves knocked on the half-open door, pushing a dining cart.
“Just ring the bell after you’re done.” The attendant placed two portions of steak on the table, left briskly, and closed the door.
“Xingkong, let’s have dinner together, Xingkong?” Yao Yuan turned around and panicked. Where was Xingkong, who had just been at the door? Did that big devil fly away?!
Clap, clap, clap.
Three claps sounded out of thin air, followed by a sweet and alluring girlish voice: “This drama~ it’s not time for the knight to appear yet~” “Who? Don’t be a ghost!” Yao Yuan stepped back a few steps and picked up the candlestick from the table. The moment the metal candlestick came into her hand, she suddenly realized: that thing wasn’t on the table before!
“Who am I? I am the edge of the crown, the eye socket of a beauty, a most ordinary gear~” The sweet voice sang with rising and falling inflections. A curtain suspended in mid-air suddenly pulled open with a shake at both ends, and a very fair and slender little hand threw out a bouquet of roses.
The roses exploded in mid-air, and a few petals fell on Yao Yuan’s head.
“What are you talking about?”
“I can sing one song, two songs, many more songs for you, but unfortunately, time is not sufficient.” The curtain disappeared, and someone jumped down from the void.
What appeared before Yao Yuan was a barefoot Succubus, a captivating demon race that perfectly matched the definition in legends.
She had curled twin horns and eyes filled with affection. The blonde Succubus, wearing a tight-fitting dress, flicked her heart-shaped tail, and the candlestick in Yao Yuan’s hand was instantly split in half.
“Cute little Princess, sharp blades are not suitable for you.” The Succubus waved her right hand, grasping a sapphire-inlaid dagger: “You are an unqualified actress; please yield your position—” The Succubus’s abdomen suddenly split open with a slit, and a surging gush of bloody color sprayed outwards. The gaseous “blood” instantly vanished upon reaching the ground.
“What are you saying?” Xingkong appeared behind the Succubus: “Magic-conduit trash.”
Yao Yuan, standing directly opposite, could see the Succubus’s eyes turn scarlet in an instant.
