The Delicate Beauty Grabbed the Cannon Fodder Villain’s Script [Quick Transmigration] - Chapter 14
The cabinet door opened, and Jian Tao looked up. That single glance made Jiang Chengli’s heart tighten. “Tao Tao, what happened to you?”
Jian Tao rubbed his eyes as he climbed out, his voice trembling slightly. “Can’t I just be afraid of the dark?”
Jiang Chengli was stunned. Su Wen and Jiang Shi also emerged from the cabinet; one wore a faint smile while the other looked as cold as frost. Jiang Shi stepped forward. “Why are your lips so red?”
Su Wen’s gaze landed on the flustered Jian Tao. The corners of his mouth curled into a trace of a smile as he spoke intentionally. “Just now,”
Jian Tao’s reaction was intense. He immediately glared at Su Wen, signaling him to shut up. “I bit them myself because I was scared, okay!”
He thought to himself that there was no way he would let Jiang Shi find out and get jealous. Jiang Shi would explode over something so intimate, and it would definitely cause his plot progression to end prematurely.
Jiang Shi was momentarily speechless. “You,”
Su Wen let out a long, drawn-out “oh.” In Jian Tao’s eyes, the man was incredibly wicked.
The atmosphere grew stiff again. Jiang Chengli smiled and patted both men on the shoulders. “Why are you both so short-tempered? I saw Jiang Shi first, so Jiang Shi, you’re the seeker next.”
The veins on Jiang Shi’s temples throbbed immediately. “You opened that door and you’re telling me you saw me first?”
“I really did see you first. The moment the door opened, I saw you out of the corner of my eye. Hey, you’re not the type of person who can’t handle a loss, so hurry up and go,” Jiang Chengli urged.
Jiang Shi was now at the point of grinding his teeth. He looked at Jian Tao’s reddened eyes, then at Jiang Chengli, and let out a cold laugh. “Fine. You better hide well then.”
The group gathered again. Su Wen was responsible for tying the scarf around Jiang Shi’s eyes. During this time, Jiang Chengli had already grabbed Jian Tao and run off.
Su Wen saw the direction they ran in, but he didn’t plan to pursue them. A cornered rabbit would bite; he couldn’t push the boy too hard.
Jiang Chengli led Jian Tao along as they searched for a secret hiding spot. Soon, they ducked into a guest room. There was a wardrobe inside as well, but this one was vertical, allowing the two of them to stand inside.
Jian Tao now felt a bit of a psychological barrier toward wardrobes and cabinets. However, the countdown was nearing its end, and he said crossly, “Jiang Shi is counting too fast. He’s cheating.”
Jiang Chengli rubbed Jian Tao’s head. “He’s never been one for game rules.”
With those words, he pulled Jian Tao into the wardrobe. When the doors closed, Jiang Chengli pulled Jian Tao into his arms. Sensing the boy’s stiffness, he stroked his back rhythmically. “Don’t be afraid, Tao Tao.”
Jiang Chengli buried his face in the crook of Jian Tao’s neck, finally able to breathe in his scent without restraint.
After a night of games, Jiang Chengli didn’t feel tired at all when he woke up the next morning. Instead, he was full of energy.
It was as if he had inhaled enough of Jian Tao’s scent the night before. He had hidden with Jian Tao in every secret corner of the first floor, and that intoxicating fragrance had been right under his nose the whole time, much like a ghost that had finally absorbed enough life essence.
He went downstairs and spotted Jiang Shi. The man was currently standing at the door smoking and chatting with Su Wen. Outside, a fine drizzle was falling. The two men, different in style but both tall and well-built, made quite a striking picture standing together.
Jiang Chengli strode over and joined the misty conversation. He asked Jiang Shi for a cigarette. Once it was lit, he spoke with a smile. “Jiang Shi, I want to discuss something with you.”
Jiang Chengli had noticed Jiang Shi’s recent irritation with him. But no matter how annoyed he was, brothers were still brothers; he wouldn’t let the strange atmosphere create a permanent rift.
Jiang Shi raised an eyebrow. “What is it?”
“It’s just,” Jiang Chengli seemed somewhat hesitant, but he still said it with a smile. “I’ve found Jian Tao quite cute lately. Since you hate him so much anyway, why don’t you let me try to pursue him?”
Jiang Shi bit down on his cigarette so hard it bent. He asked through gritted teeth, “What did you say?”
“I said I’m going to pursue Jian Tao. If he’s with me, won’t you be relieved too?” Jiang Chengli said, seemingly unaware of Jiang Shi’s rising fury.
Jiang Shi violently threw his lit cigarette at Jiang Chengli. “Fuck you! Regardless of whether I like him or not, he’s the one pursuing me, so he’s mine!”
Jiang Chengli brushed the ash off his clothes, not at all angry. His slightly upturned fox-like eyes were full of mirth. “Hey, you’re being unreasonable. You don’t like the guy, yet you won’t let anyone else go after him.”
While the two were at a standstill, they suddenly heard Jian Tao’s voice. “Su Wen, bring my breakfast up to me.”
Immediately, Su Wen pulled a walkie-talkie from his pocket, which set off a jingle of bells. He pressed the button, the golden bells shimmering with a flowing light. “Yes, Young Master.”
After speaking, he put the walkie-talkie back in his pocket. A layer of mist had formed on his glasses, and his lips curved slightly as he said casually, “You two keep chatting. I’m going upstairs.”
The two men behind him stared at Su Wen’s back, both stunned for a moment. Jiang Chengli was instantly envious; no one expected him to be jealous of a butler’s profession. “Holy crap.”
Jiang Shi, meanwhile, couldn’t stop speculating in his mind. That walkie-talkie must be something only the two of them use. And that string of bells must have been a gift from Jian Tao too. He clearly says he likes me and loves me, yet I’ve never had anything that belongs exclusively to the two of us!
Jiang Shi left Jiang Chengli behind and turned to enter the house. Seeing that Su Wen was still in the kitchen waiting for the meal, he didn’t stop and headed straight upstairs, carrying a mysterious fire in his heart. He felt like his whole self was becoming abnormal. Although he had a quick temper, he had never felt his anger surge uncontrollably like this.
Jian Tao’s door was tightly shut. Jiang Shi knocked. Inside, Jian Tao thought it was Su Wen. He was lying on the bed looking at his phone and said without thinking, “Come in.”
However, the person who entered was Jiang Shi, who always gave him a sour face. Jian Tao sat up from the bed as a reflex. “Why is it you?”
Jiang Shi glanced at him. “Why can’t it be me?”
Jian Tao didn’t want to argue with him. His character was supposed to be Jiang Shi’s “simp,” so he couldn’t be fighting with him every day. “Then what are you here for?”
Jiang Shi paused for a second, and the two were caught in an awkward stare. After a moment, Jiang Shi stepped forward, grabbed one of Jian Tao’s arms, and pushed up his sleeve. “I’m checking to see if the bumps on your arm have completely healed.”
It was a cool, rainy day, so Jian Tao was wearing long sleeves and pants. He didn’t struggle and obediently let him check his arm.
The marks on the skin were already very faint, a pale pink that looked ready to disappear. Jiang Shi’s fingers brushed over them; the skin was smooth and delicate.
The look on his face softened, and his voice turned gentler. “Did you use my medicine?”
Jian Tao nodded. The medicine was indeed effective. He figured Jiang Shi was checking to see if he used the ointment to avoid “troubling” Su Wen. With that thought, Jian Tao’s mind raced.
Jiang Shi’s eyes were a very light coffee color. They usually looked cold and heartless, but now they held a bit of a smile, which melted away that icy feeling. “You applied it yourself, right?”
Jian Tao was about to nod, but then he flashed a smile. “Su Wen helped me spray it.”
Sure enough, Jiang Shi’s face immediately turned cold. “Don’t you have hands? You need help for even this?”
Facing Jiang Shi’s accusation, Jian Tao didn’t feel wronged this time. Instead, he was very happy because he was prepared to earn “Disgust Points.” He had done that on purpose just now. He had previously consulted 250 in detail, and “Disgust Points” actually represented all negative emotions. As long as negative emotions were generated because of him, they would be recorded in the task bar. Now that the bar had surged again, he was naturally delighted.
Jiang Shi’s chest heaved visibly, but he gradually calmed down. He realized that after being scolded, Jian Tao wasn’t sad at all; he actually looked quite pleased with himself.
This reminded him of Jian Tao’s unusual behavior lately. The person who used to cling to him at every opportunity no longer did so. Instead, Jian Tao was always getting close to others in front of him. He’s doing it on purpose, right?
He’s intentionally doing this to make me angry and jealous. The angrier I get, the happier he is, right?
The task bar suddenly stopped increasing. Jian Tao frowned in confusion and saw the smile on Jiang Shi’s face.
Why isn’t he angry or jealous anymore? And why is he looking at me with that kind of gaze that gives me goosebumps?
