The Days I Was Secretly Loved by the All-Girls School Beauties - Chapter 3
Chapter 3
“Which means there are two more top-tier beauties just like Pei Yanxi!” 21 coaxed enticingly. Even though this AI had no face, Yun Zhan could imagine its foolishly grinning expression.
Yun Zhan: “If you love beauties so much, why don’t you become the host?”
“No, no, no, that won’t do! How could I cut off your romantic fortune?” 21 rejected her righteously. Compared to falling in love itself, it found watching this “little block of wood” fall in love much more interesting.
Whether it was watching Yun Zhan—an elm head who hadn’t budged in ten thousand years—plunge into love and undergo the baptism of romance, struggling between primal impulses and rational restraint… or watching her exchange vows under the moon with a heroine, entangled in wind and flowers, 21 was more than happy to see it happen.
“Besides, if you really want to crack the secrets of this school, interacting with the heroines is essential.” Switching from the stick to the carrot, 21 knew romance wouldn’t interest Yun Zhan, so it rationally explained the benefits of being with the heroines instead.
Yun Zhan seemed to not hear a word it was saying. She casually took a pen from her bag and began sketching on a napkin without saying a word.
Dark ink soaked into the pure white paper. The girl’s sharp gaze fell inch by inch on the nascent map, recording every location as she went—a habit she had formed long ago.
“You mean to say, you want me to date them?” After a long silence, Yun Zhan finally looked up, her voice so cold it made one shiver.
“Ah… well… it’s just to make the mission easier for you…” 21 said guiltily, its voice getting smaller and smaller.
“Easier for what? What exactly do you want to see?” Yun Zhan’s tone grew heavier. “Do you want to see me kissing them, or doing more of those… unspeakable things?”
21 immediately shut up. It admitted it had selfish motives and wanted to see Yun Zhan in love, but Yun Zhan was being way too fierce…
“Do you remember that diary I read before? Anne Lister’s diary.” Yun Zhan paused, thinking for a moment before saying: “Falling for a girl in a girls’ school, having her first love. But her irresponsible behavior led to the end of that romance. Her first love was so devastated she ended up in a mental asylum.”
Yun Zhan didn’t want to hurt them like that.
There are no two identical leaves in the world, and the heroines weren’t just virtual people made of code. Yun Zhan never viewed them as NPCs she could toy with, manipulate their feelings, or abandon on a whim. In her eyes, every world was a parallel dimension. Like the millions in her original world, they had their own sense of right and wrong, their own choices, their own joy and grief, and their own cycle of life and death. They were living, breathing lives.
She had never truly forgotten… forgotten the moment Su Jue died, and the feeling in her heart when she saw the heart monitor stop its rise and fall.
She had stopped treating characters as NPCs long ago. But when Su Jue died, she felt that distinct sense of loss for the first time. The heart monitor turning into a flat line was a regret she could never erase.
“So, I cannot date them just for the sake of a mission.” Yun Zhan ruthlessly cut off all of 21’s fantasies; she only wanted to stay true to her own heart.
The tedious graduation ceremony finally came to a close after a melodious school song. The fatigue on the freshmen’s faces vanished the moment they were dismissed, replaced by a sense of novelty toward this ancient institution.
Sixteen-year-old girls are forever vibrant. Their eyes are bright. Even under the strict admonition of the proctors, there were still two or three who couldn’t keep still, leaning over to whisper to one another.
Yun Zhan was a transfer student, not a freshman, so she wasn’t assigned to the freshman dorms. She had to live with the “old-timers” from the same or higher grades.
Before even stepping through the dorm entrance, Yun Zhan was drawn to the unique architecture of the Minton dormitories. A hint of wonder flickered in her eyes. The main structure was a circular high tower made of deep red sandstone. The top was covered with a verdigris-green spire, and the tower body was embedded with arched stained-glass windows, which cast a warm yellow light at night.
Hundreds of years had passed since the school’s founding, but the dorm facilities and decor never looked old. Under the classical, elegant architectural style, the interior hid many modern amenities. It felt like stepping into a medieval magic novel.
Yun Zhan noticed that even the rugs on the floor were made of wool and metallic silk. The crimson carpets were embroidered with a golden lion crest—magnificent yet refined in its nobility.
“You told me last time that the class system here is strict. So, what kind of family background did you arrange for me?” Yun Zhan was a bit intimidated by the grand dormitory and couldn’t help but ask about her identity.
“Orphan.”
“You—?!”
“Having no identity is the best way to hide yourself. You are the posthumous child of a fallen noble family. You’re the only one left in the clan. It saves you the trouble of socializing.” 21 ignored Yun Zhan’s anger, simply making excuses for itself.
Unknowingly, Yun Zhan arrived at her dorm door. They lived in double rooms. In the double room, besides their own small beds, the lounge was equipped with a sofa and a large double bed… Considering the prevalent “same-sex” culture in this girls’ school, Yun Zhan found it hard not to suspect the principal of condoning such an atmosphere.
Before reaching the door, Yun Zhan heard voices inside. She stopped immediately and leaned against the door to listen.
“I was supposed to live alone, and now suddenly someone is coming to disturb my personal world. I spent six figures to air-freight this bed and sofa; I was planning to use them with my future girlfriend… This is so frustrating!”
A dainty huff came through. The voice clearly belonged to a spoiled, wealthy young lady.
“Oh, maybe the newcomer is a beauty. It’ll be a treat for your eyes,” a companion consoled kindly.
“Fine, fine. I’m going to rest. I don’t want to wait up for that transfer student.”
Jiang Yanmo stretched delicately, wanting to sleep early. Her companion was tactful and picked up her bag to leave. The moment the companion walked out, she ran right into Yun Zhan at the door.
The moment her dark pupils landed on Yun Zhan, a look of pure wonder appeared on her face. For a moment, she didn’t even notice her own loss of composure, her obsessed gaze lingering on Yun Zhan for a long time.
A glimpse of a goddess. This was the most suitable description for her current state of mind.
“Ahhh, such a beautiful girl… How is my big mouth so lucky?! She really did get a beautiful roommate.”
When Jiang Yanmo saw a figure at the door, her expression wasn’t great. She had rarely shared a room with anyone since childhood. At home, the only ones allowed in her room were her parents or servants. Having to share a space now naturally made her uncomfortable. She intended to put on a sour face to intimidate the newcomer, but when she saw Yun Zhan’s ethereal, graceful face, she froze instantly.
Jiang Yanmo “urgently recalled” her sour face. At that moment, her mind went blank, and she completely forgot to manage her expression. Her small face went from gloomy to stiff, and finally to wonder and shock.
“You… you are…?”
“Hello, Senior. My name is Yun Zhan. I’m sorry to disturb you so late.” Yun Zhan completely ignored her reaction and bowed politely.
“Oh, no disturbance at all! You can just sleep opposite me… Cough, um… I’m very happy to live with you.”
“Thank you, Senior.”
“Haha… it’s fine. My name is Jiang Yanmo. It’s great to live with you…”
All night, Jiang Yanmo’s head was filled with Yun Zhan. She couldn’t sleep at all. She buried her face in her blanket, her heartstrings tugged by Yun Zhan’s perfect, celestial face, wriggling like a caterpillar under the covers.
Yun Zhan didn’t sleep all night either. Early the next morning, she was dragged by an enthusiastic Jiang Yanmo to a Spanish class.
Minton Academy was exclusive to upper-class students, and in this world, the elite had to master “Spanish.” The school’s requirements were exceptionally strict, reaching a level of “fluency like a native speaker.” Since this language was a standard for nobility, she had to learn it as quickly as possible—and the questions she asked couldn’t be too stupid. Once someone noticed something was wrong, she would likely be discriminated against or have her identity questioned.
“This is really bad…” Yun Zhan took a deep breath, suppressing the anxiety in her heart.
But something even more anxiety-inducing followed. On the podium, she saw a familiar figure.
The woman on the podium had a tall stature. The cuffs of her black suit were embroidered with gold thread, and her long black hair fell smoothly down her back. She pushed up her gold-rimmed glasses, her indifferent gaze falling on the pages of a book. She sat elegantly in a large leather chair, her regal presence causing the girls around her to start buzzing.
If she remembered correctly, that person was—Pei Yanxi.
Yun Zhan lowered her head, trying to minimize her presence and hiding in a corner to avoid being noticed. Pei Yanxi’s gaze swept lightly over the crowd and finally landed unerringly on Yun Zhan.
The girl’s cold eyes swept over her, a ripple appearing in them when she looked at Yun Zhan. She merely studied Yun Zhan for a moment longer, but that obvious gaze made Yun Zhan feel like she was sitting on pins and needles.
The way she tried to hide was a bit foolishly cute.
Pei Yanxi withdrew her gaze nonchalantly, her cold voice steady and powerful: “I am subbing today. We will primarily practice oral communication.”
“Hey, Yun Zhan, Senior Pei’s native language is Spanish! Her oral speaking is even more fluent than the teachers’. This is a rare opportunity.” Jiang Yanmo beamed. She leaned toward Yun Zhan, nudging the pale-faced girl with her elbow. “Why do you look so pale? Are you unwell?”
“I’m fine. My throat just feels a bit uncomfortable.”
One forty-minute class felt like an eternity to Yun Zhan. She not only had to hide the fact that she didn’t know a word of Spanish, but also hide her presence from Pei Yanxi. She had never been so stressed; for a moment, it felt like she had soul-transmigrated back to her high school self.
“To learn Spanish well, the position of the tongue must be precise.” Pei Yanxi walked past the startled gazes of the crowd, first washing her fingers with drinking water, then standing steadily in front of Yun Zhan.
“You. Open your mouth.”
The girl wearing gold-rimmed glasses looked like a “refined scoundrel” stepped right out of a literature book. Just like that night, she looked down at Yun Zhan in the corner with a highly oppressive gaze.
“Open up.” The command fell from above.
“I…”
“I told you to open your mouth. It wasn’t a request; I am teaching you.” No one said no to Pei Yanxi. Yun Zhan’s defiance caused a flicker of dissatisfaction in Pei Yanxi.
Slender fingers, like bamboo joints, slipped into Yun Zhan’s mouth. Fair skin brushed against her soft lips, and smooth nails swept over the tender membrane inside, moving the tip of her tongue to the correct position.
Yun Zhan’s pupils dilated slightly, clearly startled. It hurt a bit. This was the first time she had been treated so unreasonably. With Pei Yanxi’s fingers in her mouth, the pain and the difficulty breathing made her instinctively sweep her tongue around Pei Yanxi’s fingers…
As the fingers were licked by the soft, moist tongue, Pei Yanxi’s body instantly stiffened… The sensation from her fingers made the soul deep within her tremble.
How could she lick her fingers?
Pei Yanxi’s eyes darkened, her breathing quickening. In a place like a girls’ school, she knew better than anyone what such an action implied…
