- The Days and Nights of Being Targeted by a Flirtatious Senior Sister
- Chapter 3 - I am Wen Yusheng; The Senior is Here, Everyone Move Aside
Wen Yusheng felt the meticulously crafted mask she wore crack open at the sound of that crisp, loud “Sister-in-law.”
For a split second, her brain went completely blank.
What is going on?
Sister-in-law?
Who is the sister-in-law?
In her twenty-two years of life, this was the first time she had encountered a situation so utterly detached from her personal script. She had imagined the girl across from her might be flustered, might refuse to back down, or might even go toe-to-toe with her—but she never expected the girl to charge forward, wrap her in a bear hug, and call her “sister-in-law.”
Wen Yusheng froze; her physical reaction was faster than her cognitive processing. She instinctively wanted to push away this unknown creature that had suddenly latched onto her, but the other girl held on tight, even familiarly patting her back twice in an affectionate “we’re all family” gesture.
Meanwhile, the culprit, Su Yang, had finally snapped out of her petrified state. Her entire face was flushed a deep crimson, looking like a boiled shrimp.
“Su Zhou!” she practically shrieked. “What kind of nonsense are you talking about?!”
She tried to rush over to peel her chaos-loving cousin off Wen Yusheng, but as soon as she moved, she was held in place by the hand Wen Yusheng had resting on her shoulder.
That hand didn’t seem to be using much strength, yet it was like an iron vice, rendering her unable to move.
Su Yang was on the verge of tears.
She clearly hadn’t checked the lunar calendar for bad luck before leaving today. First, she was caught “stepping out” by her Senior, and now her unreliable cousin was publicly calling the Senior “sister-in-law.”
God knows what Wen Yusheng would think of her now.
Would she think she was a frivolous person who just went around claiming relatives everywhere?
“Senior! No! She’s my cousin! We’re related! She’s my aunt’s daughter!” Su Yang explained incoherently, so anxious she was nearly stomping her feet. “She’s got a screw loose, don’t listen to her!”
Su Zhou, the one being accused of having a screw loose, finally let go of Wen Yusheng. She turned around and made a face at Su Yang, showing zero signs of remorse.
“Sister, I’m helping you!” Su Zhou crossed her arms righteously, muttering under her breath, “Look at this sister here—she’s beautiful, has a powerful aura, and is clearly a perfect match for you! If I don’t give you a little ‘assist,’ when is a blockhead like you ever going to wake up?”
Though her voice was low, in the quiet restaurant, it was loud enough for all three people present to hear clearly.
Su Yang felt like steam was rising from the top of her head; she desperately wished a hole would open in the floor and swallow her whole.
As for Wen Yusheng, after moving past the initial shock and confusion, she finally began to piece the logic together.
Cousin?
Sister-in-law?
Assist?
So… she had been wrong?
The “love rival” who had made her feel like she was facing a great enemy—the one she had rushed over to claim sovereignty against, even at the cost of losing face at a negotiation table—was actually Su Yang’s cousin?
An indescribable surge of emotion welled up in her heart.
There was the relief of a cleared misunderstanding and the embarrassment of her own jealous display just moments ago, but more than that, there was a strange sensation—a mix of bashful annoyance and a hint of sweetness.
She had actually been so incredibly jealous of Su Yang’s cousin?
Wen Yusheng’s face felt a bit hot, but she quickly suppressed the sensation.
As the eldest daughter of the Wen family, seasoned by years in the business world, emotional management was her greatest strength.
She took a deep breath, and within seconds, her expression returned to its usual composure and elegance.
She looked at Su Zhou, who had an “I’ve worried myself sick for you” look on her face, and then at Su Yang, who looked like she wanted to pass away on the spot. A flicker of amusement danced in her eyes.
This blunder wasn’t entirely without its benefits.
At the very least, it allowed her to see exactly how much weight this “puppy” Su Yang held in her heart.
It also… gave her a better way to declare her sovereignty.
Wen Yusheng cleared her throat softly, breaking the awkward silence.
She didn’t look at Su Yang. Instead, she turned her gaze toward Su Zhou, her lips curving into a perfectly measured smile—gentle, yet carrying a hint of elder authority.
“So, it’s little sister Zhou,” her voice returned to its cool, melodious tone. “Hello. I am Wen Yusheng, your cousin’s… Senior.”
She emphasized the title “Senior” again, but this time, the meaning was entirely different.
Looking at the high-cold goddess who had instantly regained her composure, Su Zhou inwardly stuck out her tongue. She knew that while her “sister-in-law” comment was just mischief, it seemed to have accidentally poked through a thin veil.
“Hello, Senior,” Su Zhou said obediently.
Wen Yusheng nodded with satisfaction.
Then, she finally deigned to turn her gaze back to Su Yang.
Su Yang flinched under her gaze, instinctively straightening her back like a primary school student waiting for a teacher’s lecture.
Looking at her like this, Wen Yusheng found it funny, but she didn’t let it show on her face.
She released her grip on Su Yang’s shoulder and instead reached for a napkin on the table.
Under the puzzled gazes of both Su Yang and Su Zhou, Wen Yusheng reached out and gently tilted Su Yang’s chin up, forcing her to look up.
Then, using that soft napkin, she meticulously and carefully wiped the corner of Su Yang’s mouth.
A bit of cream had accidentally stuck there while she was eating cake.
The gesture was excessively intimate.
Su Yang felt her breathing halt.
Wen Yusheng’s fingertips were cool, and as they brushed against her skin, they left a tingling, numbing sensation. She could smell the increasingly rich woody fragrance emanating from Wen Yusheng and could see her long, curled lashes casting small shadows under the light.
Her heartbeat went out of control once again.
“Yangyang,” Wen Yusheng’s voice was soft, carrying a trace of doting helplessness. “How are you still eating like a little child? How old are you now?”
Her tone was exactly like someone lecturing a naughty child of their own.
Su Yang’s face turned so red it looked like it could bleed.
She wanted to pull away, but with Wen Yusheng holding her chin, she couldn’t move at all. She could only sit there stiffly, enduring the way Wen Yusheng “cleaned” the corner of her mouth in a way that felt almost humiliatingly tender.
Beside them, Su Zhou’s eyes went wide.
My god.
This is… this tension is insane!
This scene of a “Queen” disciplining her “Little Wolfdog” was more stimulating than any idol drama she had ever watched!
She was now 100% certain that her “steel-straight” cousin had long since been captured by this beautiful Senior!
Wen Yusheng didn’t let go immediately after wiping.
She used the pad of her thumb to lightly brush against Su Yang’s lower lip, her gaze deepening as she looked at her, as if admiring a piece of art that belonged to her.
“There,” she finally let go, elegantly tossing the used napkin into the trash.
Then, she gave Su Zhou a flawless smile. “Sister Zhou, sorry for the scene today. It’s getting late; I need to take Yangyang back now. She has early training tomorrow.”
This sentence was packed with information.
The word “take” was full of initiative and control.
The word “back” was even more suggestive.
And the phrase “she has early training tomorrow” perfectly demonstrated her intimate knowledge of Su Yang’s schedule, as well as her care and consideration as a “family member.”
In her mind, Su Zhou gave the Senior a hundred thumbs up.
Too high.
This level was simply too high.
They weren’t even in the same league.
“Yes, yes, of course. Take care, Senior,” Su Zhou nodded repeatedly, smiling fawningly. “I’ll leave my sister in your care!”
Wen Yusheng smiled satisfactorily, then took hold of the still-dazed Su Yang and pulled her up from her seat without room for argument.
“Let’s go. Home.”
Wen Yusheng’s voice wasn’t loud, but it carried the weight of a command.
Su Yang followed like a marionette, being led out of the restaurant by the wrist.
It wasn’t until they stepped outside and the cool night breeze hit her that Su Yang regained a bit of her senses.
She looked at the slender figure walking in front of her, still holding her wrist, and felt a complex mix of emotions.
Everything that had just happened was like a tornado, turning her brain upside down.
She didn’t know what she should be feeling right now.
Was it the relief of the misunderstanding being cleared? The embarrassment of being “teased” in public?
Or perhaps, deep down, that tiny bit of secret joy she didn’t even dare to admit to herself?
“Senior…” Su Yang spoke up hesitantly.
“Hmm?” Wen Yusheng didn’t look back, only giving a faint response.
“Just now… my cousin…”
“I know,” Wen Yusheng interrupted her. “Children are impulsive; I won’t take it to heart.”
Su Yang breathed a sigh of relief, but for some reason, she felt a small pang of disappointment.
So, the Senior really didn’t take it to heart.
The two walked in silence, neither saying another word.
It wasn’t until they reached the parking lot that Wen Yusheng stopped and released Su Yang’s wrist.
She turned around and looked at Su Yang quietly.
The night wind blew through her long hair, and the moonlight spilled across her face, making her look as though she were shrouded in a hazy glow, hauntingly beautiful.
Su Yang felt uncomfortable under the gaze and instinctively looked away.
“Su Yang,” Wen Yusheng suddenly called her full name.
Su Yang’s heart tightened, and she quickly looked up.
“You made me very angry today,” Wen Yusheng’s tone was calm, devoid of discernible emotion.
Su Yang’s heart sank.
She knew this matter wouldn’t pass so easily.
“I’m sorry, Senior. I shouldn’t have lied to you about going to training…” Su Yang lowered her head like a child who had done something wrong.
“That wasn’t the point,” Wen Yusheng said.
“Huh?” Su Yang looked up, confused.
Wen Yusheng looked at Su Yang’s face—it was clean to a fault, and those clear eyes still held traces of lingering confusion and innocence.
Suddenly, she felt that her own jealousy and anger from earlier were somewhat ridiculous.
Against a “puppy” who hadn’t even “awakened” yet, wasn’t using the schemes and tactics of the adult world a bit like bullying?
Wen Yusheng sighed inwardly.
Forget it.
The days ahead are long.
This little dog would be hers sooner or later.
“Never mind.” Wen Yusheng finally softened her tone. She reached out and, as she often did, ruffled Su Yang’s hair. “In the future, if something comes up, just tell me. Don’t lie to me.”
Su Yang nodded blankly.
Looking at the familiar, gentle smile on Wen Yusheng’s face, the heavy stone in her heart finally hit the ground.
Great, the Senior isn’t truly angry.
She followed suit and smiled—that same heartless, brilliant smile.
Watching that smile, Wen Yusheng’s eyes glazed over for a moment.
It was this smile.
Six months ago, on a night just like this, it was this same smile that had caused her to firmly etch the name of this junior, Su Yang, into her heart for the first time.
Looking at Su Yang’s exceptionally clean face, Wen Yusheng’s thoughts couldn’t help but drift back to six months prior.
That hadn’t been their first meeting; they had crossed paths at the opening ceremony and during club recruitment. But to Wen Yusheng, those were just blurry background memories.
Until that day.
That day, Wen Yusheng had just finished an argument with the so-called “relatives” of her family. She was walking back to her dormitory, physically and mentally exhausted.
The setting sun stretched her shadow very long, carrying an indescribable sense of loneliness.
Right then, a figure dashed past her, bringing a gust of wind and the faint scent of sweat.
It was a tall girl with a high ponytail, wearing athletic gear, running on the track.
For some reason, Wen Yusheng stopped in her tracks.
She watched that figure run lap after lap on the track, tireless and full of vitality.
That wasn’t the first time they had met, but it was the first time Wen Yusheng truly, meaningfully, carved the name “Su Yang” and that figure running under the sun into her mind.
