The Daily Face-Slapping of the Junior Tutor - Chapter 6
The moment those words were spoken, the room’s temperature seemed to plummet.
Lu Nan sneered, “Say that again and see what happens.” She’d rather end this dog official with a single stroke than waste medicine on his backside!
Gu Jintang, intimidated by her glare, shrank back and sat still, resigned to being medicated.
But her breakfast that morning had been nothing but a bowl of bland congee, utterly tasteless!
Gu Jintang glanced at it and refused, “I want meat!”
Xiao Qi’s face twisted with malicious glee. “Meat? Let me tell you, you’ll be eating congee for the next few days. Dreaming of meat, are you?”
Gu Jintang pounded the table and threw a tantrum. “I don’t care! I want meat! I want meat!”
In her fury, she accidentally knocked the bowl over. The congee splattered across the floor as the bowl shattered into pieces.
Xiao Qi clenched her fists. Damn it, now I have to clean this up! But Lu Nan intervened, “Only one meal per sitting. She’s not getting any more food this time.”
Gu Jintang secretly clenched her fists, her nails digging into her palms, but she maintained her pitiful act. “I… I’m so hungry.”
Damn it, that Black Widow is heartless! She beat me senseless and still torments me!
It’s just… The thought made Gu Jintang feel utterly pathetic.
But Lu Nan couldn’t care less about Gu Jintang’s misery. As long as she didn’t kill her, it was enough to vent her anger from the previous night. Grand Tutor Lu was still furious, and Gu Jintang’s tearful appearance only fueled her rage.
“A grown woman crying like this? How pathetic!” Lu Nan’s temple throbbed as she flung her sleeve and slammed the door behind her.
Xiao Qi gloated, “Pretty boy, if you’re hungry, lick up the congee on the floor.”
With a triumphant grin, she followed Lu Nan out. Ah, finally vented my anger!
Gu Jintang struggled to climb out of bed and limped to the window. When she opened it, she saw a bustling main street below, wide and lined with shops overflowing with goods. The air buzzed with activity.
Food stalls lined the street, offering crystal cakes, osmanthus cakes, candied hawthorns, and fried skewers. The tantalizing aromas filled her nostrils, stirring a longing she couldn’t ignore.
She had yet to taste the flavors of ancient cuisine.
As she pondered this, her eyes landed on a figure in the crowd—a man who stood out like a crane among chickens which was utterly conspicuous.
Isn’t that Xiao Jianyun, the woman who looked so despicable back then?
I have to admit, she has a rather heroic and spirited air about her, almost on par with Lu Nan’s aloof and repressed demeanor. Still, Gu Jintang couldn’t stand either of them.
How could someone so beautiful have such a rotten character?
As she was mentally cursing them, Xiao Jianyun seemed to sense her malevolent gaze. She looked up in Gu Jintang’s direction, startling Gu Jintang into slamming the window shut.
“Pretty boy, what were you staring at just now?” Xiao Qi suddenly appeared, her face was suspicious as she approached.
Is Gu Jintang pretending to be stupid?
Gu Jintang’s expression instantly shifted to one of innocent bewilderment. She pointed at the window and mumbled, “Candy…”
“Hmph.” Xiao Qi yanked Gu Jintang down. “Listen here, Gu Jintang, you can’t fool me! Stop playing dumb!”
Gu Jintang burst into tears, her saliva spraying onto Xiao Qi.
Xiao Qi, disgusted by the mess, wanted to slap herself. What was I even doubting? This person is clearly an idiot!
A few days passed. Gu Jintang’s bottom had mostly healed, and Lu Nan had gradually calmed down, preparing to properly restore Gu Jintang’s memories.
Gu Jintang sat obediently on the stool. Lu Nan exchanged a glance with Xiao Qi, and Gu Jintang’s heart trembled, fearing they were about to use some new method to torment her.
“Do you remember your name?” Xiao Qi asked.
Gu Jintang stuck out her tongue and made a face. “I’m Little Cutie!”
“Ugh…” Xiao Qi gagged, forcing down her nausea. “Remember this: your name is Gu Jintang. You used to be a corrupt official, the kind who treated human lives like grass…”
“My name is Little Cutie!” Gu Jintang protested stubbornly.
“Enough!” Lu Nan interrupted, her icy gaze piercing Gu Jintang’s face as if trying to bore a hole through it.
“I read in medical texts that talking about her past is useless. We need to give her a shock to trigger her memories.” With that, Lu Nan stood up, grabbed Gu Jintang by the arm, and dragged her toward the door.
Gu Jintang’s heart pounded with terror. Big sister, what kind of shock are you planning? My poor heart can’t take it!
After being cooped up for so many days, Gu Jintang finally saw her chance to escape. But a moment later, she hesitated. Well, I’ll just play it by ear.
Lu Nan led her down a narrow alleyway, then turned to give Xiao Qi a few instructions. As Xiao Qi listened, she smirked at Gu Jintang before vanishing into the shadows.
A bad feeling immediately crept into Gu Jintang’s heart. Those two are definitely up to no good.
Sure enough, that damned Xiao Qi returned with two yellow dogs. Gu Jintang stared at them in disbelief. Is this the “thrill” they promised me?!
Lu Nan nodded, issuing the command: “Release them!”
Release my ass!
Gu Jintang bit her lower lip, mentally cursing Lu Nan’s ancestors back eighteen generations. How did you even give birth to this bastard?!
Xiao Qi patted the dogs, grinning wickedly. “Big Yellow, Little Yellow, go bite her!”
With that, she released the dogs. As if understanding human speech, the two animals lunged at Gu Jintang, their bodies low to the ground like wolves on the hunt.
Gu Jintang’s pupils constricted sharply. She immediately bolted, screaming for help as she ran. But the alley was deserted, and even those who emerged to witness the scene quickly retreated in fear.
As the roars of the two large yellow dogs behind her grew closer, Gu Jintang’s heart pounded in her throat.
This is it! If I get bitten, will I die of rabies? If I manage to escape, will they see through my act?
Caught between a rock and a hard place, Gu Jintang cursed Lu Nan inwardly. If I ever get another chance, I’ll make her pay for this!
But just as she thought she might escape, she tripped and fell. The two yellow dogs lunged at her, their bloody jaws snapping open to bite.
Gu Jintang closed her eyes in despair. Suddenly, a figure swept her up, lifting her into the air. The next moment, her feet touched the ground again.
In that instant, Gu Jintang felt as if her soul had left her body, her mind blank and unresponsive.
Lu Nan released her, but Gu Jintang went limp, as if about to collapse. Lu Nan had no choice but to steady her by the waist again.
“Hey! Are you okay?” Lu Nan waved a hand in front of Gu Jintang’s eyes, her voice tinged with annoyance.
Seeing Gu Jintang helpless on the ground had inexplicably tugged at Lu Nan’s heart. Without thinking, she had rushed over and carried Gu Jintang away.
This pretty boy used to know martial arts, but even in this emergency, he showed no sign of any skill. His reactions were slow, confirming her suspicion that he truly had lost his memory.
She sighed inwardly. What am I going to do now?
Gu Jintang, tears streaming down her face, sobbed, “I hate you.”
“What?” Lu Nan thought she’d misheard. “Say that again?”
Gu Jintang glared at her through tear-blurred eyes and shouted, “I hate you! I hate you! You wicked woman! Why are you doing this to me? Waaah…”
Gu Jintang shoved Lu Nan aside, wiped her tears, and ran out of the room, her footsteps echoing like raindrops. Lu Nan’s chest tightened, and she immediately gave chase.
“Tsk, tsk, this is the first time Mistress has ever chased after someone, and it’s a pretty boy at that,” Xiao Qi shook her head, patting the two lonely female dogs, Big Yellow and Little Yellow. “Maybe you two should pair up too?”
The dogs barked at her as if they understood.
Meanwhile, Gu Jintang ran as fast as her legs could carry her, tears flowing like a river. She looked utterly heartbroken, but inside, she felt a surge of satisfaction.
After enduring Lu Nan’s bullying for so many days, Gu Jintang finally snapped. Even if she were caught and dragged back, she knew she was in the right.
Who could bear to provoke such a cute and beautiful woman like me? she thought. Only Lu Nan, that hypocritical, petty, and selfish woman, would do such a thing!
Lu Nan quickly caught up with her. Gu Jintang was currently clinging to a roadside sesame cake stall, grabbing two cakes and devouring them without paying.
“Hey! What do you think you’re doing? Eating without paying!” The stall owner’s face darkened, and he began rolling up his sleeves…
Lu Nan tossed a silver coin to the owner, whose expression immediately transformed into a wide grin. “No problem, no problem! Come again soon!”
If she keeps coming back, I’ll be rich! Haha!
Gu Jintang threw the half-eaten sesame cakes at Lu Nan and darted across the street to a crystal cake shop. She grabbed several cakes, took a bite from each, and tossed them at Lu Nan.
Just as the shop owner’s fist was about to clench, Lu Nan, too flustered to get angry, tossed another silver coin to the owner…
After paying, she wasn’t done yet. Glancing up, Lu Nan nearly had a stroke when she saw the “dog official” had already run to a nearby steamed bun stall!
